Halfway to sunny Scunny (Hopefully) as we speak so a perfect time for a pit stop and to put my thoughts down, if Berwick have ideas of making it to the play off which in my opinion we should then a bonus point must be taken this weekend. Scunthorpe have potentially the scariest reserve duo in the league plus the super fast Mr Worrall to contend with however our blend of youth and experience forming one of the most formidable Bandits 1-7 I’ve seen. I’m a lot more optimistic that I was when I came for the KOC clash last season and I’m even cautiously optimistic that we could take all the points tonight. At least let’s have a cracking meeting and I’m looking forward to seeing some Berwick faithful and catching up with some Scorpions fans too.

It’s Saturday, the sun is shining and the Pirates are in town for what’s set to be a back and forth meeting which is bound to be a cracker. Poole have a fantastic top 4 and with ex Bandits Lewi Kerr and Paul Starke in the mix it’s bound to be a tough test, however I have full faith the Bandits can step up and start the league campaign with a victory as we start our march to the Play Offs. Get yourself along early for a pint in the sunshine, alcoholic and non alcoholic choices available.

They were dancing in the streets of Tweedmouth on Saturday night. What a meeting, what a result and what a team! We are just getting started.

Gutted for Bastian, I’m sure he’ll come back with the bit between his teeth and show us just how good he is once again. Welcome aboard Jack, a well deserved opportunity.

Looking forward to seeing the mighty Bandits back in action after a tough home opener against the much vaunted Tiggers last Saturday. Very encouraged by the performance of the 1-7 last weekend, hopefully more track time has helped Mr Borke and that PK has a bit more luck this time around. Jye returning to Monarchs colours as a guest will certainly be one to watch and I for one hope all the Bandits faithful give him the ovation he deserves on his return to Costa del Berwick, a loyal servant and one that deserves a rousing return. Incase you didn’t know, the car park is free also.

Well done Glasgow, credit where credit is due they performed like a well oiled machine from start to finish. Harris, Howarth and Thompson looked good as expected but the star of the show was Max Perry, he deserves all the plaudits he is bound to receive after that. From a Berwick perspective it was just one of those nights, Mr Kildemand was extremely unlucky with bike issues. Messrs Kemp and Cook should take a bow, superb as expected. A hat tip to Dayle Wood for winning his debut heat as a Bandit, certainly lots of promise across the board. As a Berwick fans it still is hard to see Leon in a Glasgow racesuit, please Cami can we have him back? All in all a fantastic season opener, you’ve done it again promotion team, five stars all around.

Can’t wait to see the new look Bandits in action this weekend, no matter the results it’s sure to be all action against the Tiggers. The promotion really have worked wonders with this 1-7 and they looked fantastic in the new race suits at the press and practice.

Some Berwick fans astound me, the guy gave us nothing but loyal service and yes he may have had a disappointing year by his standards last year but can you not just wish him well for the future. Berwicks loss is most certainly Workingtons gain.

I’m sure the Bandits promotion will make a statement when there is news to pass on and I’m confident they are working very hard behind the scenes to ensure we have the best 1-7 possible under trying circumstances.

A massive hat tip to the Bandits promotion and to Mr Dickson for getting us out of a sticky situation after it appeared Rory was unable to return. Cook and Kildemand are rivals to any top 2 in the league and in Borke, Hagon and Kemp we have some exciting talent which is sure to improve. An exciting season to look forward to for sure and I for one think this team is the business.

Regarding Jye, Berwick’s loss is most certainly Workingtons gain and he is a far better rider than his 4.98 average suggests. I’d fancy him to put at least a point on that and prove any doubters wrong. Those who “bagged” on Jye at Berwick were a vocal minority and I know that the large majority of Bandits faithful are disappointed he has left and will be sure to give him a rousing reception on his return to Sheilfield Park, I have no doubt he will “haunt” Berwick with a number of strong scores against not only us but every team in the league. He was a fantastic servant to the club and I can only wish him well for his season at Workington.

If we hadn’t had bad luck this season we may not have had any at all. We have however enjoyed some great meetings and racing, I’m still catching my breath from the Superheat against Oxford a couple of weeks ago. As for next season it would be great to retain the core for next season. Kerr, Hume, Kemp, Etheridge and Hodder. Question marks will be hanging over Rory and Bastian with there injuries and whether they will be fit/willing to return. Would be happy to see Connor Coles return as he gave us fantastic effort as a guest the last couple of weeks. Rory would be extremely tough to replace but I’m confident the right man for the job will be found. Excited for the final meeting of the season on September 7th as we watch the next generation of superstars.

What a weekend for the might Bandits, every single one them proving why they were signed as we dispatched the Comics and collected the Border Trophy. Racing was first class at both venues and a great season opener to wet the whistle before next weeks clash with the Tigers of Glasgow. Workington certainly seem like they could ruffle some feathers over the course of the season with Zischke and Vuolas certainly looking like hot prospects this afternoon and of course super Claus Vissing proving just how brilliant he is once again. This season is sure to be an absolute cracker.

The mighty Bandits however are looking extra tough this season with 3 proven heat leaders in Kerr, Schlein and Etheridge and a quartet of young and up and coming superstars to back them up.
