  1. I doubt the Gdansk meeting counts anyway, since I think Go Speed only acquired the rights to the Ekstraliga and even then it doesn't seem as if Go Speed has actually done anything with the rights. They don't appear to be offering any kind of service of their own.
  2. A trifle late in the day, but could they not have tried persuading the Berry to ride?
  3. Lindgren did qualify. Was third in the GP Challenge after beating Kolodziej in a race-off.
  4. Dobrucki turning out to be a bit of a damper squib.
  5. Anyway, back to 1973 and Ht 19 - make your own minds up: And the race-off with Szczakiel getting the "roller" to end all "rollers":
  6. Terrible news and condolences to his family.
  7. It should be noted that as of today neither Andreas Jonsson nor Jonas Davidsson (both Zielona Gora) have received permission from SVEMO to start in the Polish leagues.
  8. Should be a great season in the Ekstraliga. But no "Holy War" derbies between Bromberg and Thun after the relegation of Polonia. The elevation of Rzeszow means, however, that there'll be derby clashes between the Swallows and the Cranes, as well as the usual derbies between Zielona Gora and Gorzow. And looking at the squads, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the season could end with a derby clash between Falubaz and Gorzow, although reigning champions Leszno will have something to say about that. Torun also looking strong, as usual, while at the other end of the spectrum I expect a Crumpless Wroclaw to struggle along with Czestochowa.
  9. Richardson banned for one meeting after some fisticuffs with Pawel Miesiac of Daugavpils in the last meeting of 2010. As for "The Fish" it seemed he was heading to a Liga I club this season, but Rzeszow wouldn't let him go. Can it really be that Fisher didn't realise hed signed with the Cranes for two seasons? Elsewhere, Torun will be without Holta, who is also banned for one meeting.
  10. Did he categoricaly state he wouldn't ride on the new silencer? It would certainly be a silly thing to say and would be embarrassing for him if he subsequently did so.
  11. Splendid, but is this Gollob's ex-wife making mischief?
  12. Yes, he did. And here is a video of Sayfutdinov out-Gollobing Gollob in the meeting: http://www.itv24.com.pl/film/1308/sajfutdinow_wygral_xxx_kryterium_asow_gollob_drugi A very sweet move.
  13. Is the ex-wife still giving the world champion problems, or is this a different Tomasz G: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&sl=pl&u=http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2011/03/29/zuzlowiec-tomasz-g-uslyszal-zarzuty-popelnienia-przestepstw/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsportowefakty%2Bzuzel%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG%26rlz%3D1G1TSEA_ENUK335%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&usg=ALkJrhho5z-XA1E4ous0-OWbPNZwBq1nhA
  14. But didn't you also think he would be much better in 2010 than he was in 2009? And didn't you, in common with many Lindgrenites confidently predict that once he'd made it through the qualifiers in 2010 (the principal difference between him and Nicholls - Lindgren generally does the qualifiers) that he'd easily make it into the top eight? Why do you set yourself up for such a fall?
  15. Rickardsson's statistics are somewhat distorted relative to others who have performed more recently in the GPs, as, indeed, are Nielsen's. There was a time when you collared 25 points for a GP win, now the maximum in 24.
  16. Like I said, he's a Swedish version of Nicholls. For years people were saying Nicholls was only ever a "click" away from starting to make things stick.
  17. Well, having finally given up British speedway for the pathetic joke that it is, I'll be keeping an eye on events in a proper league and that, sadly for you all, means Poland, Ekstraliga and all. Should be a great season.
  18. Transmission, I think. Will it be televised?
  19. Incidents of that nature were mentioned in the article on sportowefakty.pl about Kołodziej. Gollob seemed to advocate a minimum weight for rider and machine being adopted, but, knowing Gollob, the suggested minimum would probably be the combined weight of Tomasz Gollob and his bike.
  20. Give it up, fellow. Lindgren is a Swedish version of Nicholls. Hancock and Harris are much more likely to be in the top ten than Lindgren. He's a non-event in Poland and three rounds are staged in Poland. You can point to his EL dominance all you like, but in the altogether more serious Ekstraliga his average was 6.54. That's less than Sebastian Ułamek. Hell, it's less than Leon Madsen.
  21. So, the first of the long-term stayaways looks to be now seeking a return to Elite League racing, albeit with strings attached. Yes, it seems Nicki Pedersen will lower himself sufficiently to race in the Elite League so long as the fixture list is cut in half. That's jolly altruistic of the former World Champion. But, hang on a minute, are the final three words above a clue to the real motivation? Former World Champion. Since leaving the Elite League Pedersen has won just a solitary Grand Prix. His career has slipped alarmingly. Indeed, to such an extent that he needed a charity nomination to the circus for 2011 after dropping out of the top eight. Yes, okay, so he was World Champion in his first season away from the Elite League, but hardly in the dominant manner in which he conquered the world in 2007. Jason Crump also claimed the world title in his first season after breaking from the Elite League, but missed out in his second season. It'll be interesting to see what becomes of him this coming season. Could it be that they're missing regular Elite League action after all?
  22. Well, he did plenty of complaining about money when it all went breasts up and then he had Philip Rising running around various forums pleading his case. Furthermore, the situation in regard to the track hadn't changed materially from the time he bought Reading, so surely a lack of commercial sense when he bought the club? I seem to recall that he closed Reading shortly after he sold out to IMG.
