He has presided over many a shocker but last night was by far the worst. This is the same guy who has forgotten to put the two minutes on after a false start one time, who will issue rider warnings for jumping but doesnt exclude when they do it in their next heat. He should have excluded Jack Smith in his second heat when the 2 mins had expired he realised he had damaged spokes and went across to gate 4 to ask Aaron. Hopefully English George having seen it will take it further. On one of the Tigerbite interviews someone was complaining that referees dont get any follow up training once they qualify so never establish best practice and so they are wildy inconsistent. This must be the most extreme case though. Dishington is inconsistent and totally incompetent.

Decent meeting to watch, had Lambert been there it would have been much tighter. Garrity wasnt up to much though his EF in ht13 spared Summers blushes who was as slow as a week in jail. Stuart Robson was superb in the middle order and Bowtell looks a decent prospect. The farce of ht8 confirms why Willie Dishington should not be in charge of a speedway meeting. Pickering fell in a first bend incident, the ref never noticed, Pickering started to clear the track as the others came back round, the riders then stopped without any red lights coming on and then the silly prick in the box woke up. Utterly shambolic. That exclusion for Pickering put us under a bit of pressure with the resulting 1-5though we steadily gained ground in the later heats. Much better from Perry tonight, he just has to do it more often

His season on the whole has been disappointing, was almost embarrassing at Ipswich three weeks ago how being so far behind the race leader their reserves were having a nip at him. Could be a vicious circle of not enough meetings, rusty from the gate, earning less money, cant get engines tuned as often and therefore confidence goes down. Pijper's. Dont get me started on Perry's EF's. George Stancl would be red faced by it. -

And still beat Perry on a spluttering machine. We are talking about spending an additional 0.33 points as to where we are just now with Perry to have TP as a starting reserve. I doubt Pijper would have invested in equipment this year having had no team place. -

Two Brits rule hence he has been difficult to replace this season. In years gone by he wouldnt have been considered again by Edinburgh after going to the Wolves party the same night as Edinburgh had a fixture at the end of last season. -

Im sure we could have a word. Did well for us in 2011 after a shaky start that included a short spell at reserve. -

A somewhat competent reserve would be good. Kept wondering how we managed last year but it was Ayres and Garcia who are much better than we have now. Looking at the new averages Pijper is on an attractive 4.23 whilst Perry is 3.90. Know which id rather have next year. With away form as we have seen recently AS average is only heading in one direction. -

Not good when a key heatleader coughs up two 5-1's and runs a last in the money heat. For once we have outscored the opposition reserves, and still lost. -
Twelve points from reserve against Worky's two. Someone needs to have a serious word in Perry's ear. We should be twitching.

No mid meeting collapse from Ippo, genuine title contenders. Greaves coming good at the right time.

Never a truer word said and its been the same for the last 3-4 years. However some of the same clubs who moan about having too many fixtures in August and September are the same ones who point blank refuse re-staging dates in that April to June period. -
Richie Worrall will go to No1 from our next meeting. No doubt Lawson will go to 3 as I dont see the two of them being paired up in ht13.
-
Your not. Each rider has their own issues. Summers is suffering from an absolute lack of match sharpness. Lawson seems to be jaded at times, possibly from too many matches. Bewley can take several heats to warm up and is a bit too timid at times. I wouldnt have given him ht15 last night, it needed the experience of Worrall or Summers. Lunna is injury prone but exciting all the same. Jack Smith is largely a passenger and too inexperienced to have any impact. It is what it is though. We can't make changes and have to get the best from what we have. A bigger issue will be when all the play offs come at the same time with Bewley and Smith involved in three leagues and Lawson possibly as well with Somerset.

Theo guaranteeing himself a reserve spot for the 0131 in 2018. It'll be him and Sedgmen going out in ht8 every week at El Dale next year. -
Fair point, our weakness at reserve was to accommodate three 8 pointers at the top. Perhaps i have been too hard on Perry as in reality he is a 3 point reserve that has maintained his average. Our top three each arent capable of being an out and out No1 but have collective responsibility to bring in the points. Whilst Lawson seems to bear the brunt of fans frustration, Summers is far more inconsistent IMO. Last year we had the luxury of the current top 3 plus Bach as well as stronger reserves. At this stage nothing is lost, we will make the play offs and have to hope we up our game.

The soundbites are winding up our rivals, time to reign them all in. They could be written by an SNP spin doctor such is the difference between rhetoric and reality right now.
-
JS almost has protected status, he rarely gets pulled from his programmed heats. Whilst i understand that can boost his esteem, he is a season too early in our league IMO. I also think riding at BV can give him false confidence as its not exactly technically demanding holding the throttle open. TP isnt cutting the mustard either. A few decent meetings in May doesnt mask what has been an average season. Mitch Davey on Saturday worked out pretty quickly what we've seen all season in that he cant/wont ride the inside line and is pretty one dimensional.

Perhaps the policy should be that where an ambulance is required, rather than wait for an NHS one, it is the trackside ambulance which makes the journey. The Royal Infirmary is only 2 miles away, would remove much of the waiting for fans and not prolong the discomfort of the injured rider. -
He has to get his average down otherwise he'll be the Joe Jacobs of 2018.

Two paramedics would have been irrelevant as he was strapped to a spinal board in the back of the only ambulance. A second ambulance AND paramedic, yes, that would have allowed the meeting to continue. This is the only part Glasgow are in control of. Accidents at speedway and a lack of 999 ambulances are not. However as pointed out tonight the two other delayed meetings this season have been when JS crashed out. A wider issue IMO is that too many riders in the No7 race jacket are riding in a league they arent remotely ready for and incidents like this are a consequence of that. A more experienced rider would have dealt with this or worst case made a controlled get off without injury. Howe er I agree a poor experience for newbies even if some of the later heats were good. -
Amongst other things!

Long delay killed the pre match atmosphere. Glasgow still not firing as well as they could. Bewley takes several heats to warm up and Perry was beaten by Davey who worked out pretty quickly he cant do the inside. On the plus side Lunna was on it. For EDI Pickering was superb for a reserve and Riss was good when he gated. Clegg still astounds me with a 4.71 average, disappointing that a Perry EF gifted him a point he was never going to earn. Next time we meet im pretty certain he and Pickering will have swapped places. Not sure Edinburgh knew there was a meeting on tonight, was oh so quiet on the fourth bend enclosure other than a wee squeak after ht12. Onward. -
He needs the practice after a recent poor run.
