  1. Bollocks! We'll pick him up again in 2016 when his lack of gating pushes him down to a 3 pointer.
  2. Four signed up according to club email this morning. Names this Sat at STARS event plus a fifth if concluded in time.
  3. He was but I wonder what would of come from Robert Csillik who looked the better of the two IMO when they first arrived. Csillik was chopped pretty quickly and never really got the chance to settle that Nagy got. Nagy never really got to grips with Powderhall and other small tracks, not that it hindered him, he was quite phenomenal in full flight on the big tracks. I'm sure the year he won the PLRC he went into the big league event and made the top 5.
  4. Hopefully the Spring Trophy has been consigned to history, along with the Scottish Cup. Time to move on!
  5. Was he injured? He rode in the Scottish Open this year.
  6. That must have been the away matches. He used to slow down to a crawl going into turn 3. Around then we always went with two heavy hitters, if he was any good I'm certain he would have been invited back the following season, especially to partner his mate Parker.
  7. Glasgow could have several teams but how about: Corey Blackman Lee Smethills Jamie Courtney Robin Tornqvist Craig Watson Jamie Birkenshaw Simon Cartwright Craig Watson was signed as a replacement for the mis-firing George Stancl and went straight into the PL Pairs and did well. Unfortunately that was his only significant moment, being truly awful at Ashfield. In true Glasgow luck he returned the following season with Birmingham and rattled up double figure scores.
  8. Frustrating to say the least. It was widely perceived among most that the wrong man was chopped. A good piece all the same from Gordon Pairman, we thank him for his patience and finance in keeping the Tigers going.
  9. Many second tier teams also had 3 genuine heat leaders back then, that's how strong the then NL was, though not at Glasgow for most of that decade!
  10. Masters on 8.22 would be a number 1 at most other clubs, yet it is not a role I think he is capable of and would IMO find it very hard going leading to his average dropping. Edinburgh have also had great value from Sedgmen and Fricke who have each put over 2 points on their average. They have served their purpose and with Edinburgh not being loyal to riders (not a criticism) at least one from Worrall, Sedgemen, Fricke and Masters will be moved on. Like you say Fox is worth another punt being on a low average and now having done all the tracks There is also Tabaka on a 6.00 who wasn't needed to replace any under performers mid season and I know of a frustrating German who would represent superb value on 6.19 . No doubt another couple of masterstroke signings will be made!
  11. True but when True but when one team finishes the season with a team CMA around 50 and the other around 34 its a no contest. Only mug punters would travel to the EH postcode land to see that and we seem to have a few at GLA. I'm all for fans being loyal and sticking with it through the lean times but there comes a time when you say enough is more than enough!
  12. We need to learn lessons from this season regarding fixtures. We will no doubt be forced to not run on the weekend of at least 1 shared event and the British GP therefore we should ensure every Sunday during the key summer period of July and August has a fixture, something that hasn't happened over recent years. I also believe we should make more use of be our alternate raceday ie Monday or Thursday when we are away to other Sunday tracks, GP, PLRC etc. The fans have also demonstrated they have zero appetite for matches with the Monarchs. Time to bin the Spring Trophy, Scottish Cup and any other reason for running against them. I'm all for an opening season challenge before the real season begins so let's see if Worky or Redcar are up for it home and away and let's freshen things up by starting positively in 2015 and not just the usual time served opposition.
  13. You would never know that from Monday's press release from GLA. Piss poor that on checking both the Berwick and Workington websites I know roughly what the lineups will be !
  14. Another shocking forecast for this Sunday. Rain off predicted and time to consign this season to history for us.
  15. Yeah, that's the solution, fine an already cash strapped club. If its rained off again next Sunday surely the fine would be waved having tried to run each meeting at least three times.
  16. Who would buy it fullstop, more like take it on, though they will need deep pockets.
  17. Im not aware of anything, merely speculating that the losses cant be covered year after year by the owner before they say enough is enough.
  18. Let's see if we declare as NL or PL next year first!
  19. Its quite a few seasons back. Unfair to say he was gash, I'm sure he only did 3 matches and never attained an average, returning home with a broken hand/wrist never to be seen again.
  20. Looks like it could be another Twitter bashing for the Met Office tomorrow. Rain forecast, predicted, expected, foreseen from 3pm to 8pm.
  21. Return him to his rightful owner, he and our other French dude could be a decent pairing, though not on the trick tracks!
  22. You can never have enough second strings at GLA!
  23. Hopefully Newcastle can go ahead and turn over our nearest next weekend, they had no opposition today. Danny King took almost a second off the track record though it looked fit for only stock cars, it was so deep on the corners and fast on the straights the poorer riders were struggling to turn, and claimed Aarnio in his third ride. Have we seen the last of Wolbert? With meaningless home fixtures against Worky and Berwick left .....
