  1. They don't need to, do a deal with Summers, declare him in the 1-7 and that's it. What are Redcar going to do, take Glasgow or the BSPA to court over a baseless asset system? Hopefully common sense prevails and we don't get Summers anyway.
  2. On the face of it yes, but AS is rotten at Ashfield and suspect at many tracks on the road so I wonder what it is we see in him. He is very good at Redcar but making Ashfield his home circuit wouldn't help us as a team to win all our home matches IMO. He has upped his average this year by 0.61 and I could see it only going down in joining Glasgow. Theo on the other hand has been over the course and will bring in points at every track, the only negative for him is disappearing for several weekends to that longtrack shyte. I've not heard if Rusty has retired but I would have him back should it be a no for TP. He is illustrious at home, fast and entertaining though can go missing on some away tracks, though like I said with 2 heatleaders above him in the riding order, the pressure is off. The old boy is probably trying to cash in having heard rightly or otherwise that Glasgow are investing a few pounds. However he could end up shafting himself as no one pays transfer fees anymore and if the delay means Summers doesn't find a team, no loan fee either.
  3. Reading about the debacle with Kus going/not going to Berwick, seems Redcar will be looking for a transfer fee for Summers. Whilst transfer fees for riders are a complete load of nonsense, I still don't think Summers offers good value on 7.78 if that's who we are after. Rusty can't be fitted in at Worky and would be a decent signing, as would Theo on 7.20. Both would be riding without the pressure of having to win every heat and would more than cover our arse in heats 12 or 14. Please please no Summers.
  4. As do the Germans and the Spanish, and is another reason for us to leave the EU at first opportunity.
  5. Absolutely, but needs a test case to make it happen just as Bosman did in football. Going back quite a few years I think it was Jason Crump who threatened to 'blow the whole system wide open' when he wasn't getting his way to sign for whoever. Never happened though.
  6. If we sign Dilger and Hall mid season you'll know its gone ** up! That was Joe Screen 2011. He deteriorated to the extent that he couldn't pass the fourth bend if he never made the gate in 2013. Having had no No1 last season, Lawson junior is a welcome arrival.
  7. What now for Rusty? Thought he was a cert for returning to Worky.
  8. Next signing announced tomorrow morning. Wonder who that could be?
  9. Why blame the rider, he was let away with it week in week out and should have been hunted in late May, not Lemon. Poor management! Having taken the hit for Palovaara dropping from a 7 to a 3, Stewart Dickson said in SS that it would have been wrong not to take him back because of that, same principle applies here IMO. We should have ditched KW in May/June or kept him going to the end of the season with a view to bringing him back in 2015, 2.5 points lower than he started 2014. Piss poor management! He will most likely start as a second string and put those 2.5 back on next year without doubt becoming public enemy No1 in the process. However FFS, responsibility for the whole situation lies elsewhere.
  10. Is there an issue with him and Worky? Could they fit him in anyway?
  11. And Kasper on the inside of said bend. Sounds like Thomas Jorgensen is no longer available, he's excellent round Ashfield and would have had him any day of the week over Summers. Its all gone quiet on that front, perhaps we won't be getting him after all!
  12. Lets wait and see how the new silencers affect the bikes first.
  13. We'll take Lawson and leave it at that.
  14. Interesting to read on the Monarchs website that they ran at a loss last season and the Directors had to 'inject a substantial amount of money'. Be interesting to know if their crowds were down in line with the general decline in speedway attendances or it was more the wage bill from thrashing the opposition at home, and high scoring on the road.
  15. Not sure that would be universally shared!
  16. . That was back in the days we had Michael Coles at reserve in 06 or 07! The only thing I can remember him for is clashing with Richard Sweetman on the first bend and Sweetman taking a header over the fence.
  17. I don't really get Summers tbh if he is next. He's never shown a liking for Ashfield and I can't remember him putting in a decent performance there. Been at the same level for a few years now. I would have taken Pijper back instead, in a strong team he would be a masterful No 2.
  18. Surprised at Morris being back, his progress seems to have stalled over the last 2 seasons. Hopefully he is good enough to maintain his average. With the points left to play with I'd still take Rusty as one if available.
  19. You can never get your hopes up being a Glasgow fan. I'd settle for a decent No1. Or Friday night racing.
  20. He was, but sometimes you just need a change of scene to kick start your potential. We did the same with Kauko when he arrived in 2006 as an annual underachiever from Workington on a 5 point average. He put 2 points on that with us that season and went on to become a decent PL performer.
  21. Bollocks! We'll pick him up again in 2016 when his lack of gating pushes him down to a 3 pointer.
  22. Four signed up according to club email this morning. Names this Sat at STARS event plus a fifth if concluded in time.
  23. He was but I wonder what would of come from Robert Csillik who looked the better of the two IMO when they first arrived. Csillik was chopped pretty quickly and never really got the chance to settle that Nagy got. Nagy never really got to grips with Powderhall and other small tracks, not that it hindered him, he was quite phenomenal in full flight on the big tracks. I'm sure the year he won the PLRC he went into the big league event and made the top 5.
  24. Hopefully the Spring Trophy has been consigned to history, along with the Scottish Cup. Time to move on!
  25. Was he injured? He rode in the Scottish Open this year.
