Getting a run off the second bend was vital and in general some of the Hammers gating was not as good as at Lakeside, this has to improve if we wish to beat Peterborough next sunday ...I was surprised at the apparent lack of effort against Peterborough ,,,Nick Morris aside ,,,after we had qualified for the play offs after the first match which was excitingly close all the way ,,,Change the starting gate surface to mirror Lakeside may help and with the inside line improved could ring the changes on sunday....

I can understand fans,,being very annoyed at our very professional promoters for the way they screw every last penny they can get out of them.. And then expect the offended fans to continue to support them...???????????????ugh

Could this be the first meeting to go on past midnight,,not impossible with the minimal medical care tracks can afford these days,,It will be tough for the Hammers with probably two team members missing ,and two meetings to get through,,We have to hope that they are both good safe matches tonight,,

Cris Gay was the official ref last night and is notorious for holding the tapes to long he ruins every meeting he runs,,,,the riders hate him ,,and its about time he was removed from the lists..but unfortunately the powers that be who are killing speedway in this country will do nothing about this or anything else that sees fans disappearing at an alarming rate.....

Some good racing tonight most of the riders really going for it Craig Cook the fastest rider I have seen there this year ,,Alfie Bowtell looking the smoothest I have seen him,has found a line that suits him, Two excellent rides from Ben Morley who looks really quick when he rides the wide line .the top 3 were their usual consistent selves..Hope Zack is ok after his nasty looking crash,,but looks unlikely for Rye House Saturday ..Victory was a must tonight and. The lads achieved that ,,,Tommorrow may be a different story with no home track advantage probably no Zack and two matches to get through....Massive crowd in tonight for the last ever meeting at Lakeside,so sad to see yet another track lost to developers.,..

Stock cars are not good bed fellows with speedway tracks

Abandoned meetings are becoming a regular occurrence and however much you feel for injured riders ,and their care is of the utmost importance ..the fact is promotions can not afford the medical cover needed to continue meetings on too many occasions,.Just another reason the sport is struggling,,with many other problems ie continuity of meetings ,,poor race conditions ,,.unfortunatly our sport continues on its downward spiral

When you know their capability,,this Lakeside performance is awfull,,Feel sorry for any. Lakeside fans who have had a wasted trip..

Lakeside have not looked the same outfit when riders have been missing will be surprised if RR produces more points than could have been expected from Newman,,,,,However our top 3 can be awesome if they hit form together if that happens they could shade this one,,,,

Good win by the IOW ..Morley and Bowtell very strong and Verge one of his best performances of the season,,Well done Warriors

Could be close between two struggling sides ...IOW have top end power but little else ..Buxtons home advantage may just shade this...which could be a highly competitive meeting,,good luck to all the riders and stay safe.......

Even if they found land with permission , doubt anything can be done in time for next season,,so lets get behind the move to keep speedway in the area even if it is about 25 to 30 miles away from Lakeside...Not ideal but real speedway fans will find a way to support it.....

At this stage the team name is not important.....The survival of speedway in Essex is......

Feel sorry for what is a good promotion. ,beaten tonight by a team with to much strength in depth fora side with too many weak links...

Josh Pickering guests for Newman hand injury .....RR for Lawson ,,not ideal but who knows Pickering said to go well at Newcastle...The bigger loss is likely to be Lawson....

Hopefully this goes ahead,,,after last night if it does not will prove to be an expensive waste of a week end for Lakeside,,, 3 nights on the trott of none events...all these lost meetings could prove costly when the cut off date arrives......

Tough weekend coming up for the Hammers main thing is to keep all the riders in one piece,,,Home win looks nailed on with Adam reportedly ok to ride,,then pick up what we can away and we are well capable of some points there too ,,,..Weather looks ok looking forward to a good safe meeting...

Tough ask for Plymouth..Mildenhall are flying can only see an away victory,,

I do not think the powerfull spearhead of Alfie Bowtell and Ben Morley will be enough to avoid a defeat to the strength and depth of Mildenhall,,but lets hope its a good safe meeting for all the riders,,,weather permitting.......
