Why is Lakeside constantly described as a trick track...It is a tight track you just need to be able to turn the bike hard and maintain drive this seems to be beyond some riders capability,,,That is not the fault of the track ,,all tracks are different and you have to be able to adapt .both riding wise and bike set up... -

A convincing win for the Hammers against a poor Redcar performance,, Score 56/34/... with the exception of Ben Barker who was the only one with any fight in him,,Our top five all rode to the highest level..There was still some good racing with our lads having to come from behind on occasions,,Nice gesture from our two maximum boys to let the two second strings Kyle Newman and Ben Morley who were both excellent take heat 15 ,,,decent crowd in,, and the track seemed to ride a bit better than last week....The only down point was poor Alfie Bowtell who failed to score ,,I am still not sure he is ready for this level ;time will tell,,.....Lets hope we can produce another fine performance at Ipswich tonight..... -

At the beginning of the season I thought we had two second strings at 3 and4 ,,But Ellis has been a revelation an undoubted heat leader making the team a really solid. Outfit,,..Hopefully Bowtell will continue to be more controlled which will help his improvement. ,,Morley is riding well just needs a bit more luck in running to increase his. Points tally..Zac has started very well coming back from injury..Newman s doing his job,,.Morris and Lawson are flying...So it is all looking good for a fabulous season..Up the Hammers -
Hawk 127 ..I'd go along with those ideas..something needs to be done.to improve the speedway season.............I think this match will be a close one...Good luck to all the riders...

Looks a home banker but hey if the racing is good that is the main thing as far as I'm concerned........
-
Most of the refs these days are having shockers,,where do they get these people that seem to know nothing about racing bikes , .?
-
That's a bit more like it ,,comments from a fan who was there and a match report well

Lakeside Hammers vs Ipswich Witches 13/4/18
waco replied to marko's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Bonus from tonight was a more controlled performance from Alfie Bowtell ,,the lad has top class gating ability and.with improved confidence from last night could be the turning point for him.. after previous performances where he did not look ready for this level of racing......Heat 8 was an appalling decision by another useless ref,, one of the most obvious first bend bunching situations i have ever seen ..the standard of refereeing is at a low ebb in speedway.,.Thought the crowd was decent and the meeting had its moments ,Lawson and Ellis were outstanding,,,,but riders giving it a real go on a wide line are still not getting enough help from the track .,,more dirt is needed .The Hammers look a solid unit and i think we can expect a decent season home and away..... -

.Wrap up warm tonight Lakeside can be a chilly place early season,,Hammers should take this one with a bit to spare .But Ipswich will be determined to improve on their performance at home to Peterborough... -

I enjoyed the meeting which was close for a long time. Some good races..Lakeside look solid apart from Bowtell who can gate very well but does not look ready for this level yet whether they can give him time remains to be seen..... Crowd looked good to me but it is very spread out round the track and with many in the top bar it is very difficult to judge accurately......i think we should have a decent season ..the result at Peterborough suggests we will not be as weak as some have suggested away from home,,,and Lakeside should be a fortress,..Bring it on..... -
Aint that supposed to be Unlucky ? But for who ?
-
They finally make a rule to speed up speedway for the better..Now its back to square one .after a couple of weeks ,,I despair the way the sport is being run,,
-
First two meetings done and it is looking very promising for a great season.Just needs the fans back in force to support the riders and .the management..So come on folks get on down to the raceway next Friday to see off those Witches...
-
12 rider individuals have never pulled in the fans, who basicaly detest them..so why do they not learn from past mistakes are all promoters thick??
