  1. Fan support is very good at Mildenhall ,but the state of the track is far from satisfactory on a regular basis and needs sorting by the management,,before support drops ,,or there is a serious accident.....
  2. Ben Morley guests for I O W at no 1 in this sunny afternoon meeting...
  3. No guest for Boxall, and on his average it should not have been impossible to get some one decent, shame on the Plymouth management, should have been a good meeting ,but was,nt ...Now Lakeside may have lost some fans through no fault of their own....
  4. Couple of big let downs to start with,,no programmes,,no Boxall, ...,Roynon tried hard but only managed one win against Hurry ,,, Zach 15 point max ,,Ben 13+2 paid max,...Paul 11,,4 rides ,...Alfie 8 +3 ...Nick 4.... Jamie and Connor 2 a piece, some good battles with Adam Roynon from Zack and Ben ,,, But the meeting was not as good as Kent last week , and the reserves are still struggling against riders who have not seen the track before,,,,,No guest either for Boxall ,which would likely have made it more interesting,,, crowd looked about the average likely when not a local derby,,track again well maintained throughout the meeting which took 2 hours,,Score Lakeside 55 Plymouth 35.....
  5. With plenty of big hitters on both sides there should be some good racing,,in fact Lakeside may need some decent scores from the bottom 3 to clinch this one ..note the 7-30 pm start time different from fridays,,weather set fair ,,,Our top boys may not have it all their own way against Roynon and Boxall ?
  6. This. track is the worst ever laid by Len Silver, but I recon it was more to do with the amount of money spent on it by the owner, could and should have been so much better..
  7. Stoneman clipped Alfies back wheel and fell as they entered the corner and he should have been excluded..I understand there was a trainee ref in the box with mr Reeve and this may account for the decision.......?
  8. Brilliant advert for national league speedway,,one of the best meetings ive seen at this level..it was close untill heat 12 when lakeside finally started to pull away, tremendous fighting efforts from Hurry 15 point max,,Morley 13+1 ,Zach 10 ,Bowtell 6,,And for Kent who played their part,, Bowen ,Thomas,,Hopwood and young Rowe till he faded a little in his last 3 rides of 7 ,starts....Score Lakeside 52,Kent 38....... Oh and the bottom 3 chipped in with 8 points between them..great team effort ,,The stay away Elite league snobs missed a treat.....Roll on the next meeting i say..!
  9. Thanks for that East end fan,,the rain has stopped here now and the sun is out ,all looking ok for this evening...
  10. Rain is bucketing down here in Wickford at 11-30 am ,16 miles from the track..getting a bit worried as there is no sign of it stopping at the momentWhat is it like nearer Lakeside
  11. Another close encounter with Kent should provide good racing,,Hope we have a strong ref on jump starts , not like the last time they were here..Connor Locke makes his debut and i am hoping he can prove me wrong and get some points ,,If he has to ride at number two it will be difficult... I think we will need at least 6 to 7 points from the bottom three to win this one,..Hope all the riders have a good safe meeting,,Weather looking OK..........hopefully....
  12. Why would they do that Tony E, I have agreed with all your posts,so perhaps they have also removed some of mine, but I could not tell if they had ,my memory is not that good these days
  13. I hope Lock spends more time on the bike than on his backside as he did last year at Rye ,would have thought the tight turns at Lakeside would not suit him,,He tends to lock up a bit and fall a lot ..Having said that he has a bit of dash about him and hopefully Tatum can sort out his problems.other wise this could be another bad signing,,There has to be some one out there better surely ???
  14. Tony E,,I to was there and i think you will agree the racing improved in the second half of the meeting when riders like Perry found the right lines to challenge our top boys ...Plus some interesting battles with some of the bottom end riders ..i am beginning to think some of the knockers preferred Elite League, and no longer attend because its National League....?
  15. Good post Liam, the knockers appear to be mostly those who do not attend///
  16. Most national league clubs would be more than happy with Lakesides crowd, which is spread round the whole circuit The knockers on here seem to be mostly those who do not attend....
  17. Cook said he was still looking to strengthen the team initially in the number 2 position.....
  18. Almost impossible to accruetly asses the numbers as the crowd is so spread out around the whole track plus people up in the large bar area but considerable more than the last meeting.......Cook not to bothered about those having a moan about Hurrys arrival.....
  19. Lakeside had to much top end power for Cradley whos only race winner (twice) was Connor Dwyer,...,But an exciting match was touch and go for much of the afternoon,,,Hammers pulling away in the last 5 races with 3 4-2s,,,Paid 4 ride max for Hurry on his league home debut ..full max for Zach,, with Ben on 11,, and Bowtell on 8 ,, provided the main bulk of the scoring, ..late on stirling efforts from Tom Perry kept the Heathens in with a chance of a match point..... Though Danny Ayers struggled to get to grips with the track today ,,,The track was kept in excellent condition all afternoon,, a credit to the track staff...the heavens opened during heat 15 which was completed just in time ..... Decent crowd must have enjoyed todays Speedway....Got the feeling Cook is still looking at possible no 2s, as the bottom end is still weak
  20. Good win for Lakeside.top 3 did the job plus a good return from Nick Lawrence
  21. Personally I think the track staff have done a brilliant job this season ,A big improvement on Gerald Richter never did rate him now doing Rye House says it all really .....Hopefully the storms will not arrive till the evening,,That's the forecast I believe,,antisipating an exciting match....
  22. Will Paul Hurry pull in the fans for this sunday meeting,,With Zac, and Ben its a powerfull top end,and Bowtell scoring well. ,question is can the long tail secure enough points between them for the victory over a strong Cradley side....Fingers crossed on the weather...
  23. If indeed Spooner has been signed to replace Hunter it could turn out to be a good signing i was impressed with his performance round Lakeside a few weeks ago...
  24. Hurry and Spooner replace Mason and Hunter, makes things very interesting tomorrow,,Lakeside now very top heavy...
