  1. Terrible track the inside half of the bends was like a babys bottom any rider who rode it was swallowed up down the straights ..Rye,s middle order is apalling,,Watt so slow .. is his bike any good ???..Harris going backwards as a top line rider .. and Robson not much better than Watt,...Perks a trier Nichols rides the track well ,,Kennet good when he wants to be, And guest Morley after a brilliant first ride,,missed the gate in his second and then not seen again till heat 14 where he had the coffin gate 1...Swindon rode well and deserved their victory 41 -49 final score
  2. Having only 3 rides on a regular basis is going to knock the confidence of some of these 2 pointers,,,and some will become dissilusioned ,,to say nothing of their lack of earning power,,Personally i think having a 5 pointer and a 2 pointer at reserve is a bad idea to start with....
  3. Cousins would be my pick of that lot,has some experience goes reasonable well round Rye so could suit Lakeside ..However you never know they might un earth a little gem on the day....
  4. Great idea,, shame other clubs do not have the brains to think upon similar lines
  5. Thanks AJ is king. Yes i am proud of my grandson Ben Morley,,he used to come to speedway at Lakeside when he was 12yrs old and keep on at me ;;saying i want to do,this grandad,,,, So for his xmas present when he was 14yrs old i bought him a ride and slide day at Kings Lynn where he was tought by Kevin Doolan,,and carried on since then ,,I am of course still hopeing there is more improvement to come to take him to the next level..Having being unable to take up the sport myself as a youngster due to a serious road crash on a motorbike,,It is a great joy to me that my grandson has been able to take up the sport that i love. and reach the level he has,,Looking forward to the new season at Lakeside...
  6. Ben Morley named as Skipper of the Lakeside team for 2017....
  7. All opinions should be respected even if you think they are wrong.....
  8. I see the predictions are putting Lakeside in the lower part of the league standings, and we still have one more rider to go who,s to say we wont find another Jenkins before the start...Also Lakeside will be one of the most difficult tracks to ride for away teams, especially the many riders that will have had no expierience round our tight circiut .I would like to think the team will make the top half of the league without to much problem,on that basis alone...
  9. There are and plenty of possible rapid improvers in the league this season,,and i think this will be the deciding factor on how teams finish this year.so on that basis i will sit on the fence and just enjoy the racing,,,,,,,
  10. There is a shortage of young top end riders for this league ,,and teams need to use the strongest available riders,,However at the bottom end they should really be looking for youngsters to fill these spots.. It can be difficult to strike the right balance when the pot is half empty,,,,
  11. Some one needs to teach Locke how to avoid throwing lockers entering corners which invariably see,s him sitting on his backside .more often than not. He has enough dash about him when he stays upright,,and just needs a good rider to help him to cure what he is doing wrong..Hope he can iron out his problems and have a better season at Kings Lynn ,,a track that should help him to improve,,,,.
  12. Mike you obviously do not plan your summer as others me included do,,or you to would be fed up with the incompetent way this league has been run for years..
  13. You must realise that Peter Morrish is the co-ordinater of this league..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  14. I imagine there is not a National League team in the country that would ,not like Kelvin Tatum in the pits working with the young riders .We are lucky to have him at Lakeside..His enthusiasm and knowledge will be invaluable to all the riders young and old...
  15. The future as was hinted at last night may depend on how this season goes,,But there was considerable optimism from Jon and Kelvin ..the Premier League however was not considered to be in good health for the future...
  16. I did not say Bowen and Boxhall were struggling,,and you can not compare Kent with Lakeside totally different... I saw them both on their most recent visits which was in the top level ,and thought they were not at their best....
  17. Went to the Lakeside forum tonight.Very good turnout and a lot of positivity from Jon and considerable enthusiasm from Kelvin. They are looking to create a Lakeside family atmosphire between Riders and the fans this season. All looking good for an enjoyable years Speedway........
  18. One of Ben,s best tracks ,,nice lad,,wish him well for a good season,,..
  19. Many of the riders will not have ridden Lakeside before so it should be a fortress,Even the top riders in this league ,Bowen and Boxall are not at their best on this very tight circuit....the away matches should be the deciding factor in their final league position,,
  20. The level of support will no doubt go a long way to determine the future of speedway in Essex ..if you want it support it........
  21. Good luck to Kyle Hughes hope he has a great season,,nice lad and a top rider at this level....
  22. Are they saving the announcement of the last rider for the forum..?"""
