Your Team And What You Expect In 2017...
waco replied to Speedway28's topic in National League Speedway
Lakeside Ben Morley ,,a track expert here .will score big home and away.. Alfie Bowtell,,will need to get used to the tight bends at Lakeside ,to improve. David Mason ..Track will suit his style, will score well at home,,Away, will need to up his game considerably Zach Wajtknecht,,,,Hopefully will continue to improve and challenge Ben for the No 1 spot George Hunter Has potential and should be a solid scorer ,will need to steer clear of injuries Nick Laurence,,Been a makeshift reserve for several seasons .without showing much,,However has enough expe rience to get points against some of this seasons rookies No 6 ,Hopefully a 3 plus lad that will use the full quota of the points available If all goes to plan and with considerable home advantage,,,should make a top six side -
Gustix I think what you are looking foris on page 5 of this thread...
-
Judging by Cooks remarks on their website about our first Sunday meeting.i wonder if the race days may vary with some sats,, some fridays and sundays ..I hope we get a fixture list sooner rather than later if that proves to be the case so we can plan our summer....
-
I think this seasons top sides will be the ones having the best improving youngsters,,and in this respect i think Kent have one of the best in Jack Thomas. ..Nathan Stoneman though around a while is still open to improve on good equipment,,was hoping lakeside would sign him ,,,but there you go good luck to him at Kent....And Hopwood is a steal on his false average.......Most teams looking similar in strenght ,,so improvers.will be vital......
-
I think Hopwood is nailed on, goes well round Kent...And if you get Stoneman you should be well pleased..Most of the rookie reserves will be a gamble/...
-
Any one have the race details of the Rob Woffinden memorial meeting .?
-
I still think Fridays are the most likely nights to run...Even with the cars running sats and sundays,it is running against Rye House on sats .i can not see that happening ...No more than 10 to 12 pounds to get in and 2 pound for a programme tops,,Any more and i can see many fans staying away..I hope they get it right and do not get greedy....
-
It has to be said that a number of third choice riders this season are not true heat leaders.the lower points limit does not help in this respect...Having said that the number of heat leaders was really limited any way..
-
It is becoming obvious that David Mason was the only rider available that fits the bill regarding average,,Lakeside will suit his style and i expect him to more than hold his own round there especially as has been pointed out many visitors will have no experience round the track..i just hope he can up his game away and indeed he is well enough to compete in them.....
-
Hector,,please we are all at a low ebb already !! As a point of interest are there any riders around 3.4 left that we could fit in to give us a slightly stronger reserve ???
-
These are depressing posts on here now,,after every thing started to look so positive after the first 4 signings.. ..It is now looking unlikely this side will be making the play offs,,,When will managements realise they have to put out competitive ,and above all if they want the fans to turn up, entertaining sides..And after dropping down two leagues this becomes even more vital....
-
David Mason will do a job at home at least ,, i hope his health holds up ,as he tends to miss several away meetings..However Nick Lawrence has been around for years struggling to get in any side because of his lack of ability , very poor signing you need improving youngsters at reserve,,,, I can live with Mason,,,But two old hands not what was required to keep the fans at Lakeside,,.
-
Would like Stoneman,,but I have feeling it may be Mason
-
Ben Morley is riding in the Rob Woffinden memorial meeting this coming saturday in Australia ,,Good luck Ben and stay safe
-
Most riders need two leagues to make it financially viable
-
Thanks for that info Arnieg,,seems a bit stupid that they can not ride in both leagues at their age..
-
Gazzac judging by the persistent. personally verbal attacks on here I make you dead right ! Good informative post Sing4 Kings what it should all be about....
-
Not sure how the likes of Boxall can get back in to this league ,,when the likes of Clegg,,,Branford and Ash Morris ,,,Liam Carr can not, seems stupid to me and unfair....
-
Sings for Kings i saw him at Rye last year and i have to say i was very impressed,,I think once he gets dialled in around Kent he will prove to be an excellent signing
-
A very interesting and informative post from John Leslie.....must have taken some time on the research... Gustix i believe is a genuine former speedway supporter who,s knowledge goes back far more years than most of us ...so he is probably knocking on a bit. ..Modern attitudes and opinions have changed... and i believe i read, he is unable to get to meetings for whatever reason now days,,so this forum is probably his main contact with the sport,,I wish people would stop knocking him..He is still entitled to an opinion..
-
I agree the points limit is about right ,,with only a few riders on 5 to 7points still to be placed ..of course David Mason is one of those and a few posters have said they would not want him in their team at the expense of younger riders..Gustix just does not agree with that reasoning and is entitled to his opinion...
-
Gustix is entitled to be keen on any rider, (David Mason in this case),,even if the majority are not of the same opinion ,,and while a bit stuck in the past,he still makes a valuable contribution to speedway threads...And by the way Gustix,..David Mason could still get a team place this season..
-
All the best to Shane for a full recovery,,very sensible giving things time to be fully healed before riding again..
-
If Smith is out of the running then Stoneman would be number 1 choice with me to,,However Shane Hazelden at his best would be a good option allowing Hunter to start at reserve with an additional 4 pointer in the team ,,+one 3 pointer giving a more strength in depth side
-
Ok we have all talked about Kelvin to keep the thread going ,though we know being in the team is just wishfull dreaming..But i do wish they would announce the third heat leader before there are none left worth a carrot ,As i see it Jack Smith my personal first choice ,,,Stoneman ,,, Shuttleworth or even Mason if he is fully commited to do all the away meetings ,,and Lakeside would suit his stye get out the gate and sit on the white line......
