Indeed Richard could fit the bill but not sure how the Garrity ,Mason situation will pan out..Perhaps he should contact Len or John and let them know of his availability....

This meeting only goes to show how long the tail is in the Raiders at the present time..Okay Shane had an off night and i dont include him in that statement...Nick Lee was unreliable and seems to have dissapeared altogether...We need to get Braddock back and bring in a rider allowing Chessel to drop to reserve..Will Mason be back ? and can we keep Garrity if he does return ? if we cant the team will be weakened further ..And the few fans we have now will deminish to a handfull..What then ???

Raiders Vdudley Sat 16th June ..after Rockets At 6pm Rye
waco replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
Top performances from Ben Morley and Jason Garrity 12 points each could not stop the heathens coming out easy winners ,,32-58 ,,Its been said before the tail is very weak in this Raiders side and unless the managment can find a couple of reserves that are on the pace then there will be few winning matches and i fear the fans will disapear..Ok this dudley side is one of the strongest in the league...But we need to keep Garrity and find a way to fit David Mason in as well when he is fit to return. Can it be mathmatically done ? i dont know ,But the side must be strengthened.. -
Raiders Vdudley Sat 16th June ..after Rockets At 6pm Rye
waco replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
Its now 3pm and the weather looks set fair for tonights double header at Rye start time 6pm -
Raiders take on the Heathens at approx 8pm to 8-30 pm After the Rockets match v somerset at 6 pm....JasonGarrity strengthens the raiders..Does anyone know if Adam Roynon is riding here..Long range weather forcast is a bit dodgy ,,so here,s hoping this very atractive looking double header goes ahead ..I believe admission is held at a normal premier league match price So good value.....
-
No disrespect to Robert ,but isnt this thread supposed to be about Jason Garrity,,?
-
As a neutral i cant see what the arguments about if the top end is the problem why is every one going on about the merits of a 15yr old kid, they all need to be given plenty of time..Probably Rob Branford has not been in quite the form of last season but there can be many reasons for that and he is a determined character and will come good again.,,probably sooner than later...Okay another rider of his ability is probably needed but they are hard to find at this level..
-
Surprised he wasnt in from the start..I imagine Rockets matches will take preceedence,, Will definately strenghten the side ,,what happens when Mason wants to return can they both be fitted in??
-
So 10% are and i can asure you they would travel given the opportunity....
-
You are dead right about the lack of track time there are a number of lads at Bens level that are finding it hard to improve because of it .but the promoters dont seem to care as long as theres a mediocre foreiner available...The sport needs a shake up to give these kids the oportunity,, to ride at the next level to have any chance of improving...

Bad day at he office for the Raiders ,All credit to a weakend Fen Tigers with a stunning performance from Stefan Nielsen..Our Ben Morley had a very rare off night.. ( literally ),,..And David Mason had to withdraw from the meeting after a somewhat reckless move from Nathan Stoneman... I thought Luke Chessel rode sensibly on a marbely track picking up good points, as did Shane hazelden ..I had to leave the stadium before the end ,, work commitment, so cant comment on the Sarjeant incident ,but there is never an excuse for that sort of behavier.....All in all one to forget for the Raiders....
-
Good all round performance from the Raiders. Won 51-39.....Always in front after an early reverse in heat two with James Sarjeant and Ben Morley looking in commanding form.. Sarjeant dropped his points with a fall while challenging Lewis Kerr in heat 7 finished on 13+1 ...While Morley on a 4 ride max had to pull out with a machine problem in heat 15. scored 12....Gary Chessel 8 +2 ,,,David Mason 8+1..Shane Hazelden 7 +1 all with solid contributions backing the top two..At reserve Nick Lee broke down on route his place was taken by rookie Danno Verge..Nick Lawrence covered for the injured Braddock and picked up 3 points but niether were on the pace and we will need Lee and Braddock back as soon as possible ..it wont be this easy against Mildenhall on monday afternoon even if we beat the rain forcast.....
-
Weather permiting and it looks dodgy at the moment Raiders take on the high riding Fen Tigers after the Rockets match v Ipswich 2pm..its not known at the moment weather Cameron Heeps will be riding..((((shoulder problem)).. If not and hes in the Ipswich team as well,, it would be great if our Ben Morley could guest for Ipswich but i dont know if that would be allowed as hes contracted to Rye .?? ....
-
Judging by the way we are remenising id say we are all knocking on a bit,,i not ashamed to be 70yrs and started watching speedway at the age of ..8yrs.. nice to know there are others out that have been life long supporters of our great sport of speedway...
-
I used to go to crayford and hackney myself...and both were vastly better than lakeside ..Remember Laurie Etheridge at crayford, and Bo Petersen was my favourite all time rider at hackney...Before that went to Rayliegh Rockets for 20 yrs now that was a great track, closed in 1973..
-
Why would all the Rye regulars want to go to Lakeside,,No atmosphere,,,no seats ,, poor facilities ,mainly poor racing,,more money to get in ,, ,,exspensive programme,,traffic jams in the area,,,long distance viewing..No thanks......
-
The heathens are great for the national league ,,their huge support increases the crowd at away meetings so helping to keep the struggling clubs going financialy..the National league does not get the support it needs for clubs to survive..Alright their a strong side but there are strong teams in every league..On the Roynon front good luck to him while the rules allow a rider to compete in 3 leagues hes entitled,,, though personally i would like to see a rule that only allowed a rider to ride in any two leagues...
-
Im pretty confident the Raiders can win this one..3 or 4 of the team are capable of double figure scores at home,, and the tail has performed better than could have been expected so far,,,of course Lynn fans may have something to say on that front about their team..A couple of the lads had falls at Mildenhall on sunday, where they put on a good show against one of the top rated sides,, so heres hoping they are fully recovered,,these youngsters need your support so try to come along ,,could be a decent nights racing.......and the admission has been reduced this year..
-
The words incompetent and clueless come to mind....
-
I unfortunatly could not make this meeting ,obviously the state of the track seems to have influenced the results of a number of races effecting both teams so taking that into account a half decent performance from the Raiders...
-
Id put dudley up there as well,,,must be nice to have a team to talk about that has a very good chance of winning something..
-
Hate to say it,,,,your probably right....although Raiders have one or two entertaining riders who will give it a real go ,,unfortunatly the tail is way to long to make the team competetive enough to have any real chance of match points.......
-
With Heeps apparently not in the Aussie under 21 team at Lakeside and the probable return of Blackbird, the Fen Tigers look to strong for the raiders who will need good performances from Ben Morley who usually goes well here ,,new boy James Sarjeant who should like it here . With David Mason a Shane Hazelden pickin up good points also to keep the score respectable ,,as the bottom end could struggle through lack of expierience.... Weather looks good ,and im a bit sick about having to miss this one...Hope all the lads enjoy the meeting...

Rye Raiders V Buxton Hitmen Mon 7th May..approx 4pm
waco replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
..Obviuosly while the rules allow it you cant blame the promoters for using riders of Roynon and R Worrell, class ...Or the riders for making the most of there opportunities.. But riders who can hold their own in the Elite League are to good for the National League...A rule restricting all riders to compete in only two leagues would be fairer all round in my opinion..I fully respect that others may not agree ,,I also think Roynon gets talked about because he has been around a lot longer than R Worrell.....Howarth and Garrity have moved up without staying in the National league and they are both much younger ...That is the progression that should be made.... -
Rye Raiders V Buxton Hitmen Mon 7th May..approx 4pm
waco replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
Personally i dont think any one riding in the Elite League should be allowed to ride in the National League ..But i do think Buxton need to strengthen a bit..
