  1. I know it was freezing cold on sat night but after just one race of the second half junior match which included two of the Raiders..The stadium emptied....The apathy shown to this standard of racing is quite worrying for the future of the Raiders .....
  2. I fear you may not be the only one thinking that way,,It is all well and good non Rye people posting on here about giving rookies a chance,,but if no one wants to watch them what is the point ..I fear we wont just get slaughtered away from home either...theres a lot been put on the shoulders of 3or 4 members of the team....
  3. I see in the speedway Star the Raiders are tipped to finish bottom of the National league ,,while it is hard to disagree with the pundits ,it is to be hoped that the team will perform better on the track than it looks on paper ,.We still have severall known,, potentially very good youngsters ,and it will be interesting to watch their progress....
  4. Very surprising the normal healing time for a scaphoid is six weeks....he could be taking a risk.. i doubt he is doing it on docters advice...
  5. Great signing..but i fear a considerable loss of points using RR for Jordon Frampton. that problem still needs to be solved with some urgency...
  6. Top 8 at the very least....
  7. Sorry,,i guess Cottam and Smithy were as well some time ago ,,I was refering to the boys in last seasons Hackney team.....
  8. It is looking a bit thin on the ground to replace Chris.........Charlie Gedde looks the best bet but would his demands be to high,,nothing much else fits the bill i fear the worst.......
  9. Twilight Topinka ?....urhhh....no thanks......Charlie Gedde.? ...urhhh....yes please.....
  10. Good luck to the ex Rye House.boys Mark and Ben have a great season and stay safe....
  11. The Stoke team looks awsome this year and i fully expect them to clean up just about everything..Well done Malcolm and the management....
  12. I am impressed by your calculating skills Tocha ..
  13. I sincerly hope all the new guys progress well this season,, my fear is if it doesent happen fairly quickly there will be few fans left to watch them..Len is the boss ,makes the decisions and will stand or fall by them,,it does not mean that i or others have to agree with all of them ,we care passionately about the club we support the teams regularly unlike some posters on here from afar who wont be losing their speedway if we lose national league at Rye......By the way Scunthorpe have been close to losing theirs .so we should not take our speedway or granted...Unfortunately there is a very fine line between bringing on novices,, and i believe a team can carry one,,, two at most if the main body of the team is strong,,,,,,,,and losing supporters....
  14. Monty how many times do you need to be told the new riders are not youngsters..! I wish they were ..Come down and see how many fans we get for these meetings you might have a better idea of what we are talking about here then.... We have just replaced a heat leader with a 3.50 rider, no disrespect to that rider hes a nice bloke ....But fans at any club would not be happy with that.... Rockets me old mate they dont sell fish and chips at National league meetings, not viable, not enough fans...but as you say if Len can make a profit out of free entry ?? But i dont believe it ...Now a fiver is a great idea should put more bums on seats . .. Afraid.it wont happen ....
  15. If they were youngster,s id agree with you, but they are not. !!. And yes we took stick last year with Ben but he was 17 riding at a higher level ..No comparison... I am primarily concirned about attendences ,no fans , no National league at Rye.. I.have nothing personal against any rider what ever the level ..Will you be coming down reguarly to swell the numbers ....??
  16. Regular Rye House fans have every right to complain about a very weak team on paper ,,And to vote with their feet if they so desire..I personally will support the team and my grandson Ben Morley... but i have more reason than most....and can understand why they are not over enthusiastic.......
  17. This is terrible news on Chris im sure every one is wishing him well and hopeing for a complete recovery as time goes on.......
  18. No official news on Chris so might not be as bad as vague rumours suggest. we wish him well...Lanham was outstanding for the Rockets lets hope we can hang on to him ? the rest well only fleeting moments from Hawkins,,same could be said of wild boy Garrity who had several tasts of the ipswich dirt,,still at least he won a race..Not sure what was wrong with Frampton,, he usually flies round here..Steady points from Bunyan,, but Bowen not at the races,,will need to do better at home to justify Lens undieing faith in him .....Weather looks dodgy for the return on sat, i cant make it anyway,, working,,This was the worst meeting ive ever seen at Ipswich,,come to think of it i cant remember when i last saw a good one...
  19. Chessell and Lee are in their 20s so hardly youngsters,,know nothing about braddock but it is hard to see how any of them can replace Lee Strudwick at this moment in time..so on paper the team has indeed been weakend...How ever Luke Chessel can gate and if he can master the track can still improve,,Have been impressed with Nick Lee at practices,, so who knows maybe the gap to the points limit can be made up as the season progresses,,I dont however expect this side to make the play offs ,,And unless they click early as a team i can see a further decline in attendences..
  20. With the points gobbled up by the 4 heat leaders they have at Stoke they had no choice..that can not be said of Rye house Lee Strudwick was a heat leader they want to replace him with a 3 pointer..what??? .......The second part of my previous post was not directed specifically at you Parsloes,, it is well known you dont have any main loyalty to one particular club,,unless it is a defunct one.... and nothing wrong in that ,,i to have great memories of the Rayleigh Rockets dating as far back as the early 50s......
  21. Rockets at practice today, thur inc,, Lanham,,,Bowen,,,Frampton and Garrity,,,, all went well ,although Garrity had a couple of falls ,,one of which looked nasty and he was lucky to escape injury.. Tai Woffinden also had a good work out obviously means business in the forth coming challenge with Peterborough,,,,,Tomorrow friday is Press and Practice 11am., when all the ROCKETS and RAIDERS should be in attendence
  22. Went to todays practice at Rye .Raiders in attendence Mason..,Morley ...Hazeden....Others included Luke Chessel,, and 29yr old Nick Lee who is i believe pencilled in for one of the vacant spots and i was pleasantly surprised ,,nice smooth rider with good stye and what appeared to be reasonable gating ability..looks like he will fit in nicely...Has some experience a few years ago with Weymouth Wildcats so not a total rookie as expected.....All the Raiders went well ,,although our Ben had a few teething problems with his machine,, all got sorted and he flew round at the end of the session..Tomorrow friday is Press and practice day 11am when i hope to see James Sargeant have a spin...If the others pencilled in go as well as Nick Lee i wont be dissapointed.......
  23. Thanks Boss Man,,,Ben will be going all out this year to make the No1 jacket his own with the raiders and be pushing for a chance with the Rockets when the opportunity arises...the way things are going i fear for the future of the Raiders after this season ,,however i shall attend all the practices to have a look at these trainees hopeing one or two may be better than i imagine them to be...After all Len should know if they are at least on the pace..Heres hoping to be pleasantly surprised.......
  24. And you will be there every meeting to support them Parsloes of course......?? It is noticable that most on here supporting going with 3 rookies are not regular Rye supporters..mmm,,makes it easier for other teams ..
  25. Monty im afraid you dont know the Rye fans The team was competative before Strudwicks withdrawal so why couldnt he use like for like with asset Ben Hopwood who does not have a team place at present and is a good lad..
