28 odd nominations for the u/21 was what was stated on a rival forum, so what im asking is for the same information about the senior title? is that too much to ask? How many did put their names in the hat so to speak or their papers in on time? and while they are at it, might as well name them all as well. What? have they got something to hide? Why should it be top secret. CONFIDENTIAL. Rubbish!

Probably the same reason it failed to make money....? you figure it out its not hard. IMO it is that the travel costs and shipment of machines all is expected and charged to the promoter, so it makes his job of breaking even at least impossible?! -
Only way for fairness to be decided is IF MA - released the names of all nominations?! How hard or difficult would it be!? Especially if they decide to pick the whole field - and also decide or approve on making it a 5 rd series. I know most of the speedway world or interested fans of this sport would be interested to know the information and it would put to bed any rumours of favouritism / or at least give the public their chance to decide if in their opinion the correct decisions about selection were made.

I believe it would be fair for the Promoter with the guts in Australia to pay say 1/2 (half) of this travel expenses, and IMG the main beneficiery of the business and runner of the 'sport' to put in about 1/2 (half) also. If it works it works if not move on! -
So why is Barnfield picked for the seniors? Why is Davey picked for the seniors? Wouldnt it be better to see the results from the U/21 before confirming these younger blokes spots?

No wie wee its not you maniac. As for Australia to host a round there is a significant shipment cost to bring the bikes over. Can you not see that - open up your brain for work. Do each other round or GP have this cost to pay????? please answer that! and whats MOST of the other GP promoters mean? some dont pay anything?? or all expenses? as I say joke. -

Do they have more suitable venues over in kiwi land than we do unless they do, they can always travel over to our land if they like to see a GP? Why would you want to host it over their? their number of good riders hasnt been what you'd call up to ours lately now has it. A bit of rewarding the riders whove done great things for this sport lately and all through history. Respecting the contribution of the current crop and basically justice for a great country. As for a debacle in sydney...maYBE thats what you get when you expect a promoter to foot every bill and pay everything himself, what a joke. -
I think the most worrying part of all that is the revelation MA have a twitter and facebook page, now from a speedway fan if this organisation was any good, I would have known that for sure, the fact its news to me shows what they usually do for speedway. This blog will be the only exciting info to come out of their banner ever. Hope Chris is being paid for his work and doing their job. Maybe its a sign of the changing times with the MA chairman (highest position) getting a job with the FIM - meaning someone else will be taking over the running of the MA! Only promotion Ive seen of speedway by MA yeeeew. or yewwwwwwww.

TV Advertising? So the IMG/BSI or whoever own GPs run Tv advertisments. Which meetings and when and where do they pay for TV ADS? I think your getting advertising mixed up with TV rights - which they make money from - its not advertising where it costs money!!!! they are simply selling the product to TV companies such as sky!!! IMO. That is a classical mistake, unless im way off the mark - which I doubt! show me an ad for any speedway shown on TV? let alone one from BSI/IMG? If such existed it would be done by SKY or the tv channel to advertise their program....nothing to do with advertising from BSI/IMG! wake up, wie jar -

hardly enough ! thats like changing your jocks 3 times a year, is that good enough? 3 slight changes in a year, what do they want a pat on the bum? It must be a hard job weighing up the offers of money from cities and having to decide which one they go for or give the green light to - made easier of course by the fact that whoever offers or gives them a sweeteer deal will always win out, that must take a lot of the heartache or tough decisions out , So it isnt that hard a job after all. Doing whats right for the sport, thats a whole different thing and a concept that isnt familiar to them at all. It makes me wonder why the FIM havent jumped in and scheduled a world cup final over here, or an u/21 rnd (final)....oh thats right they prob will soon. The croats , Latvians etc have had their go and done a good job, nothing a new upcoming track like Kurri coundnt match or better. Perfect timing for the sport in NSW to flourish. see 10 mins worth highlights with the link in Int section. Great trackk, perfect little track. 2012 prospect for sure for u/21s with it or Gillman a chance for WC final, or Etihad stadium in melb for the world team cup how brilliant would that be...or another foorty ground in melb or syd maybe.......... -

What promotion have they done for this sport? bugger all. infact its going downhill. with it becoming boring with same old tracks etc. Id rather deal with FIM for the World Cup than crooked wannabee promoters who are nothing but a company! with the interests of a sport not even considered in their money making scam/plan. -

Thanks for all the information and I'll study it further - but this about sums it up. If they can afford to not charge extra fees and reep all rewards for their 'showcase GPs' then surely they can contribute towards shipment of bikes and rider costs (which is the main expense Id imagine working against an oz round) for a GP that is paying fees to them! Talk about uneven playing field. They would require a massive staging fee id imagine, enough to turn off any likely promoter, so no they are not trying to get a GP over here, like some say they are. You would think the fact that up to 3 GPs are in the one country, might make the idea seem a bit more logical...but nup. Truthfully I think within 3-4 years we will get a GP and hopefully it will continue, because discrimination and racism cannot be tolerated for long! Thats if the series owners dont go out of business or it gets taken over by a more astute business operation. TBH the SWC would be just as good if not better and maybe more possible, as its not run for money I would doubt and has some credability - if we could get the final in Australia it might be a better bid. as we are about due. infact overdue. -

How much do they want for a round? whats the going quote? if you know. Who gets the television rights money say if Australia sold it back to sky in britain , poland, and rest of europe? and what exactly do you get for paying the fee for a round? next to nothing Id imagine. except rules and regulations and having to look after all the hangers on associated with this BSI/IMG venture. Do all gate takings and money made on the night remain with the promoter? How much do they want to bring their circus to your city or town, and whats included in this package. as if it was fair the TV money would be worth more than other GPs as its a special not to be missed historical event not like the boring year after year borefests like some including Prague I believe which has copped criticism. All I ask is a percentage of the shipment of the bikes cost be paid by IMG/BSI to make it viable and possibly prosperous in future. It just is as if its all to hard for the hard working company, who dont wish to work more than needed especially if they have to work out of their season ' the Europeon season' march-october. -

Yes I might of called them the wrong name, but usually i refer to 'the governing body' as I dont study what they call themselves. I do know Ivan Mauger was working for this company and on official duties in Australia about a year ago, and was looking, inspecting and reporting back to the 'governing body' on his findings. He mentioned some tracks he thought may have potential during a speech at Perth in Nov last year. No promoter is just going to hand over what 'the governing body' say is the right or fair amount as corruption is all part of their make up, and unless this gov body sit down with interested promoters and discuss details and figures and chip in with some collateral amount, which could be used as security and prove they wont rip off the promoter, how could anyone be expected to hand over 100000 odd dollars just to get the ball rolling. Its up to IMG/BSI to start the negotiations and show they mean business NOT the idea of waiting for someone to give them a bag of cash before they get interested/motivated.IMO -

Sorry, I missed this post before not a bad topic! - I can imagine minimal difference in quality of women from this whole region, with it being all pretty hot. The Soviet Union, USSR, and other names used throughout time, totally confuse Russia and its neighbouring countries (for me anyway and I would need to study it full-time to catch up on the basic history! not likely), and what is what. That is fact. Although I have no doubt their is little between most of those countries regarding the quality of their ladies. I know Marat Safin is Russian, Anna Kournikova, plenty of current women tennis players, but the Czech Rep rings a bell where Ivan Lendl is concerned and also Peter Korda, while the current suspected match fixer ...nikoay Davydenko, is of course Russian as I had a feeling he may be, but initially thought he may be Czech, Yevgeny Kafelkikov also was Russian while im there! all from my memory which isnt like a computer and could be quite wrong. Latvians have some top BMX riders if im not wrong inc World Champ and are producing some decent speedway riders to boot. -
Over 10 minutes of highlights from the first big meeting Kurri has hosted. not bad track http://www.nbntv.com.au/index.php/2010/12/13/nsw-speedway-titles-2010/

If they have ancestory, or mothers or fathers from Russia evan though perhaps born in Latvia I bet some of them may like to describe themselves as Russian instead of less desired countries (by stereotype.) if such exist. Like a Portugese Girl saying shes Portugese though one parent was Timorese, and only her mother Portugese and she was born in Timor, with bloodlines including Indian apparently, though many cousins from her mums side were Portugese and she migrated to Australia when they had no option during war. It happens, as I knew one. Meaning it appears she said she is Portugese, rather than saying or mentioning Timor in the equation as it suited her to do so. -

Are the women from that region considered true Russians, or could they claim to be Russian? the good looking bombshells and models and stunners I mean? -

Im not interested wee -wee, I know the basics and enough to suffice. Why, was Latvia not a part of Russia? Is Prague, Czech Rep not close to or a 'type' of Russia/n? I cant read your mind and a statement which shows no knowledge yourself worth contributing - other than condemning my geography has to be a bit more specific. What was I incorrect about? -
I watched some of it and enjoyed it , very easy loading so you could open close and reopen it with little delay, clear quality , Good show. Missed the Wells crash, hope he is ok but indeed unlucky not to be in run off at least. I agree this webcast like that should be the future no doubt, with a PPV facility brought in to pay for expenses hopefully it can expand worldwide and make revenue for tracks. Good Luck. Let us know any developments in PPV live feeds/webcasts as I hope they take over this sport where possible.

wattyaknow, Ive stumbled upon some great vision of new track kurri curry and it looked to be brilliant racing judging from this highlights package from the NSW Title, last night. Footage courtesy of NBN News with Mr Boyd - the promoter making it known on a rival forum, im sure he wouldnt mind. http://www.nbntv.com.au/index.php/2010/12/12/locals-shine-but-chris-takes-hold-of-state-speedway-title/ click on the video! Supurb looking track and Darcys lost none of his arse class - with a wave goodbye on the backstraight as he got in front of Noddy, and went on to win it. typical style. in the heats. Good final with Noddy prevailing, well done Holder. claimed the title back. but what racing. a further 10 min worth of footage is coming up on a great looking new track, which is not simple to ride and requires skill. Far from a flat out hold it on track like sheffield is said to be. dirt. with that?

Firstly, assuming my quick mental arithmetic is correct, Australia and New Zealand combined have provided 8 riders who have lifted the World title for a total of 19 times, while Sweden and Denmark combined have provided 10 riders who have lifted the World title for a total of 28 times....So, yeah, Australia and New Zealand combined are "2nd to none" as long as you don't let any other near neighbours combine as well... Have they fought side by side in a war? are their flags remotely similar? are they both isolated from other land masses on this planet? do them countries share the disadvantage of being so isloated from other speedway areas? Thats irrelevant really, as Australia has taken up the slack has it not? World Cups, U21 champs galore, u/21 finalists galore, world finalists galore, GP Riders galore, while it took a long time for an Australian rider to get his name on the World Championship, Crump got their to lift the GP W.C. - he showed class to do it another couple of times also, showing the dedication and esteem riders from Down Under hold this sport in, and regard it. New Zealand are a strange one but they produced arguably the greatest ever contributer in the glory years, in Mauger, so they should have the right to benefit from a GP or 2 in their neck of the woods. (Australia) Spin it as much as you like, but you should know as well as everyone else that Russia has changed its name more than its rulers underware garments, who knows the truth? Latvia! Prague! Czech GP! If they arent parts of Russia nowdays they used to be! and must be pretty close I would assume? If Poland divided its country every year after holding a GP, would you say they have never held a World Championship? Whos fault is it they cant keep their country together? is it Australias fault, as it now looks like we have better treatment as we stayed as one country instead of confusing the world with constant separation and changes of name regions and parts of 'Russia'. Since they must deserve a lot how many World Champs have come from their? Who cares about that anyway its next door to a lot of current GP tracks compared to Australia! and if they didnt seperate, Latvia would be called 'Russian'? unless im too confused. WTF? Do you think that the leagues in Europe would die without Australian riders coming over to race here? You misinterpreted my sentence. I meant if world speedway wants such riders coming through the system and helping the world sport, why dont they give just an inch of help, for Aussie promoters in the winter months in Europe, and entice or help 1 percent... with travel -bike shipment costs etc? or isnt that plausable. The production belt and sport needs youngsters to get the bug, and get involved as a rider or fan and then the whole family follows and nobody is disappointed , but no BIG meetings is like starving a Lion it wont help anybody. The riders cant afford to run big meetings back here, promoters cant risk spending fortunes and loosing money, the fact is the governing body should give the dog a bone....for once and do what they say they will be doing for years!!! stage some meetings in Australia just for the sake of this sport not being over run by Europeons/poles/latvians and Russians/danes etc. at least two Swedish lads themselves want to ride and enjoy it in Australia this season so that proves its not hard or expensive!! No brainer actually....its bloody snowing back in the regions! Something. Like the promised GP which cant be arranged!!!!! maybe oz is a goldmine but theylll never know by refusing to risk a few dollars by financing it themselves, instead they want an Aussie to foot the bill and incurr any losses. Hand over cash...what is this a mafia deal in 'insert chosen illegal trade' Its their sport they run it...they sell TV rights they own it .....why ask seperate 'promoters' to pay? they should have their own promoters - who can do the job well. Again you nicely avoid the main factor.... our speedway season starts when all internatiuonal riders have just finished gruelling schedules so arent always happy to come and start another less profitable one with more travel, etc, esp when their teammates in Europe and competitors can relax and recover! We cant run a big enough league in our winter!!!! to keep our best riders, as its winter. Why blame us for the worlds weather patterns. we have bolsted british teams for years and had major players in World Finals and GP series and you know it. Even greats dont always win World Champ's. Im sure it could be arranged but 50/50 at least should be paid by the governing body, with sure if a reasonable amount was needed to be put up by someone, they would go for it, but obviously all costs are expected to be paid which is asking too much. Prob overquoted also such is the FIM or governing bodys unfair/poor decisions they continue to make in not the sports best interests. when you get greedy you never have enough money and just want more and more! Not in the bloody winter with travel considerations - however its perfect for summer - but the riders often want a break. How would all the teams leagues from Europe go running a league in their winter? As I think a promoter could take a punt and would but I dont believe he should pay every cent and foot any possible losses, as lets be honest it is an untried area and exact costs wont be known. For an initial Gp venture the promoter (since they need such a person to risk his own money???) should be quoted for not the full bill, or just hand the cash over!!! that is corruption. Work out the approx costs and promoter if affordable and likely to succeed pays his share or what he can and the BSA FIM governing body fronts the rest of the bills, until it is established exact costs for future ventures. What other international sports are run by businesses, where fairness in not considered, and money buys you everything, including home track adavantage! what a waste of time - see you later. -
ohh No losing to the Fairy machine....dont worry, itll just make the next victory over 'em even better. hopefully in a final! Jeffreys standing at that club must just about be as high as any man could reach. He deserved back 2 back nicholls medals but maybe wasnt the ump's pet, but I know he deserved them...as a veteran playing off half back. Truly brilliant player in Magpie colours. Dave 'old son do use in Darwin still get the abc NTFL replay on sunday morning??? or anything? When I first came down to perth, they were showing NTFL game of the week replays from the week before on Saturday arvo on the new channel ABC2. Now ABC has 3 or 4 channels and they show less football than ever, only 1 WAFL match live on a saturday during the season. I thought ABC2 would be great and show all the leagues around the country SANFL, NTFL, VFL etc, replayed even at night, but no we get crap , crud and more useless crap 24/7. I must have seen 2 NTFL games before they scrapped that idea...I rememberr st fairies in one match and Tiwi bombers in another! what a waste of a channel!

any heat details for the curry old mate. I would be precautionary in saying Ward finishing second is normal service , its almost certainly going to be a harder to beat Darcy when the circus rolls through the town. in Jan*15
