  1. Chance for the Aces middle order and reserves to score a few points for a change. 60-30
  2. Great to see him back, must have taken some guts to do that for the first time.
  3. Another really good meeting at the NSS. Bewley out testing machinery after the meeting, he obviously wasn't quite at his best tonight, but hats off to Max Fricke who was excellent all night. Nice to see Zischke being competitive and his heat 14 exploits must give him some more confidence. Given the choice, I think I'd prefer Leicester in the semis, but our reserves (and Blodorn away) are too much of a long tail this season.
  4. A quick shower of rain just now (about six miles away), but back to being sunny and windy. Looking forward to seeing Will Cairns to be honest. If he performs well, will it give Mark Lemon a decision to make regarding Jake Mulford? I think tonight depends on if Max Fricke gets sufficient support from his team mates, otherwise BV should have too much top end strength. 50-40
  5. I enjoyed Emil's battles with Kurtz and Bewley. He's a classy rider and always leaves space for the other rider. A crying shame he's not allowed to perform on the world stage. Good win for Belle Vue, I won't deny that I was apprehensive beforehand, but a combination of Ipswich injuries and the Aces heat leaders being on fine form tipped the balance.
  6. So sorry to hear this. A true expert of his craft and a lovely character too. RIP Mike and condolences to his family and friends.
  7. A chance for Zach Cook, Zische (especially) and Blodorn to have a confidence booster. 54-36 Aces
  8. A video of the final race should be kept permanently on the GB Speedway website. When any potential new fan looked at that, they couldn't fail to be impressed. A fantastic race with no quarter given by all four riders. When you watch it again, you can almost imagine them smiling under their helmets - they were having fun out there!
  9. Can't see beyond the first three to be honest. They are a level above the rest
  10. Dent Oliver or Ian Thomas. Probably the latter as he did it with several clubs.
  11. With Zmarzlik we are seeing one of the true sporting greats and should appreciate it whilst he's at his peak. He's a level above every other rider when push comes to shove and knows exactly how to win a GP series - consistency. We'd all like a more competitive championship, but this guy is simply a legend. If he wants it, and avoids injury, he could dominate for another five years.
  12. Presumably no Peter Kildemand for the Spires, so I think a comfortable Aces win. 54-36 Big chance for Lidsey, Blodorn, Cook and Zische to get a few points.
  13. Ipswich haven't broken any rules, they used them to their advantage. They've out together a superb team and it's highly likely that they'll win the league - and no one would begrudge them that. However the playoffs are different and it can come down to injured riders, riders out of form, overseas commitments and momentum. Speedway by it's very nature, isn't predictable in the long term, that's why we love it.
  14. A really good season guide this week, well worth the money and will keep me going for weeks. Well done to all involved.
  15. I'm sure that all of speedway will wish him a speedy recovery.
  16. Fair play to Ipswich, that was a great team performance with no weaknesses at all. The Witches could even afford Doyle and Emil to not be on top form and still won comfortably. Great riding from Bewley tonight and Kurtz was good early on, but the Aces need the middle order to perform much better if they're to succeed this season. Early days, but a great big statement of intent. Crowd not as big as expected, but I guess a lot of people have just laid out large amounts on GP tickets this week and might be saving their pennies.
