  1. The "Gold Top" is more powerful than the "Semi-Skimmed" version! Sorry, I'll get my coat.
  2. Before he was 16 he used to come out during the interval and race against the stop watch at Lynn. At the time nobody had heard of him, but he headed out on what looked like a brand new bike, dug himself a hole at the starting gate then left the tapes like a rocket ship posting a time not too far off the track record! Everybody stopped drinking their beer and thought... what the hell did we just witness there? The rest, they say, is history.
  3. Don't forget Split Waterman, who was twice runner up in the World Championship. After Speedway he turned to a life of crime. Gold smuggling, lots of firearms in his house including two sub machine guns and dies for forging coins. He was also implicated with the Kray twins in a plot to murder a bloke, then imprisoned in Italy for possession of half a million quids worth of forged Spanish pesetas! What a character.
  4. I'm curious. In all my years of following Kings Lynn Speedway, I've always known it as "Saddlebow Road" However, looking on Google maps today I noticed they show it as "High Road" Even the Stars web site gives it as Saddlebow Road so I'm puzzled? According to the map, Saddlebow Road stops at the roundabout half a mile up the road then past the stadium its High Road. Anybody else noticed that?
  5. Has Jody been announced officially in the team? I haven't seen that anywhere?
  6. Brilliant news! Always one of my favourite riders, can't wait to see him blasting round Saddlebow Road again in 2026.
  7. Thanks Steve. I knew it was one of the two of them, just couldn't remember which one! So many funny things happened at Saddlebow Road, but my favourite must still be the "exploding" Witches! Don't suppose you have any photos of them?
  8. Was it Cyril, who after a dodgy refereeing decision, climbed up and polished the glass outside the referees box, saying he hoped it gave him a clearer view of the race?
  9. The problem with Sky Sports is that if I were to add it to my existing Sky package, it costs a fortune, and I'm only interested in Speedway. Therefore 90% of their content is football which I'm not the slightest bit interested in. That makes it a non starter financially for many people.
  10. Thanks, must have missed that whilst I was washing my hair!
  11. So did the Conference take place today, or has it been put back to a later date? I can't seem to find out either way.
  12. Has Richard Lawson departed? Have I missed something here? Without doubt the best rider the Stars have had this year, would be a shame to see him go if that's true.
  13. Am I right in thinking that years ago there used to be turnstiles on the back straight leading in to the big rear car park? Would seem a simple solution to me, as at the moment you have to walk all the way round the stadium from that car park just to stand in a long queue at the box office.
  14. Do you still have to exit the big car park from the rear through the Industrial Estate, or is it as before straight on to Saddlebow Rd? I went to a meeting at the start of the season and sat in my car for at least 15 minutes without moving, then another 10 minutes crawling in single file through the Industrial Estate which put me off going as I have a long way to travel home.
  15. Were Lewis Kerr and Justin Sedgmen just riding poorly on purpose because they were owed money is the question. I'm afraid his performance guesting for Kings Lynn v Leicester seems to indicate a dramatic downturn in his performances, as I'm sure he would have been paid by Buster. A shame, as Lewis was always a great rider at Kings Lynn, so its painful when a rider loses form and then gets replaced in a team. Difficult to believe that only a couple of months ago he scored 16+1 at Saddlebow Road with 5 straight wins on the trot.
