  1. Interesting situation regarding Zach! According to the rules, Rosco has only until midnight today to find a replacement, as the rules say deadline 28th July effective 31st July except riders returning from injury. I take that to mean riders like Brady Kurtz, where Poole have an injury replacement for him. What then happens if another reserve is injured after tonight, a 6 man team? This would be preposterous as reserve replacements are so difficult to find. It's easier in the main body of the team. Surely it would make sense to reword the rule to read "except for injured 6-7".
  2. You put more faith in the BSPA than I do. If it was the insurers insisting on it, why don't they insist on it for the Speedway World Cup, where the criteria for concussion is scan plus medical examination? To me, it's just a cost cutting measure as they would have to shell out cash for private scans & medical examinations.
  3. Well if you're throwing money about, we hope you can pay all the bills at the end of the season as it would appear that the stadium owners don't take any prisoners!
  4. Possibly but I think it's more likely the British Special Prats Association. I find it difficult to believe that insurers would ignore medical advise & a scan. I know that when I renew my annual travel insurance, all the questions relating to my illnesses are just a tick box procedure & as long as you answer them honestly, no problems!
  5. I see where you're coming from but from what I've heard, Tungate had agreed terms with Rosco to make the change when the 42 point average came in but he then did an about turn & signed for Belle Vue.
  6. Nick said on Thursday night that FIM & BSPA rules on concussion are different, with the FIM, a scan & a medical are required. This makes sense to me rather than an arbitrary 9 days, as in some cases 9 days may be insufficient & with the rider not being scanned, there may be problems that are not apparent at the time. Based on guaranteed availability, probably yes as I believe there is more improvement to come from David.. You say you would make 2 changes but based on what I've seen over the last few meetings, there is definite improvement from the bottom end riders & the only change I would consider would be Grapmier, due to the possible unavailability in case of re-arranged fixtures.
  7. That's a bit far north for me. Anything north of the Thames is a bit dodgy weather wise!
  8. No one is arguing about that but the rule does not make sense. If it's designed to protect the rider, there should be no arbitrary number of days. It should be based on medical evidence, whilst one rider might be ok in 9 days, another might be nowhere fit. The criteria should be consultation with a qualified head injury specialist & a scan taken. This has happened in Nick's case & the scan shows no injury & the doctor said he was fit to ride.
  9. Ha but Blunsdon has it's own climate. It's the only place in the speedway world where you still need thermals in August. We can conjure up floods at the Abbey when there's a heatwave in Swindon.
  10. The neighbours are looking at me strangely this week! They don't seem to understand my rain dance, if this tried & tested manoeuvre works, the meeting will be off!
  11. Nothing in the rules to back this up. Regulations still state :- "16.2.1 ESTABLISHED MA’s are calculated, for a specified number of applicable Meetings, taking account of the number of heats and points (excluding Bonus Points) that a rider has scored. The applicable Meetings are: SGB Premiership: League Meetings, excluding the Play-Offs"
  12. Yes they would be allowed as can get a guest for injured no'1.
  13. I've never had a season ticket at Swindon as I always miss 2/3 meetings due to holidays. However, season ticket prices at Swindon cover a programme as well as free admittance to Sprocket meetings. Have a word in Matt's ear & let him know others do.
  14. Sadly, I think this season is over. Perhaps sign a 28 day injury replacement for Doylie, perhaps Zengi & Morro can ride at 1. I know this won't tear any trees up but I think we need to protect Jason. Not sure what the position would be if Jason rides in the GP's, if that's a problem then produce sick & get guests in for Jason. This has been allowed in the past as the rider was not fit to ride more than 1 meeting a week.
  15. What is even crazier, Berwick are allowed to use a guest in Morris's place as he's their no 1.
  16. Don't agree that it was relative as 3 riders were carrying averages that they couldn't achieve. All other riders were in a position that they could achieve their average, therefore it weakened those 3 teams for 35% of the season.
  17. I think you might be right, that appears to be how Zengi has ended up with his average in the latest GSA's.
  18. The big problem for Swindon & 2 others were the stupid averages over 12. It should have been a maximum of 12 as it meant any team with an over 12 rider had to ride with an average that couldn't have been achieved for 35% of the season. That extra 1.41 points would have made such a difference for Rosco as he could have kept Stefan Neillson, a Swindon Asset.
  19. Looking at the rules you can get a facility for injured riders, in the absence of no 1 it's guest or R/R, absent 2-5 R/R unless DU riding for other side. if both Doyle & Morris absent it would be 1 Guest & R/R. Unless D/U rider riding for other side then it would be guest. This is crazy part of the rule, if D/U gets guest because he's riding for his other side but side who have rider forcibly missing to concussion rule can only get R/R. it makes no sense.
  20. He hasn't ridden for Lakeside before this season, 2015 he was with Birmingham NL, 2016 Somerset PL / Birmingham NL. This would make him either a Brummy or Somerset asset depending on the court outcome. Personally, I would try to buy out his asset anyway, he has tremendous potential. Him & Anders Rowe at reserve would be tremendous. He has just reeled off 3 15 point consecutive maximums at NL.
  21. Why is he a Lakeside asset? They are a NL team & I've always understood that NL clubs can not have assets or has this changed.
  22. No but you can hear the riders in the pits better than the crowd in the stadium can!
  23. A faggot in the dictionary is a bundle of wood. It is also an edible dish! What is so abusive about that?
