  1. Like i said in a previous post, he managed to steer Australia U21's into 4th placein the final last year. And that with Holder and Batchelor in the team.Takes some doing
  2. That is the problem with German youngsters.Particularly at the moment.A few years back when Hefenbrock and Smolinski were coming through there were at least in the northern section maybe 4 or 5 quali rounds for the German junior championship, the Bundesliga and the 2.Bundesliga.Which gave the juniors a good few meetings before any other open or foreign meetings. Now the 2.Bundesliga has gone and the junior championship.......well they can barely get 16 riders together for one meeting now.So like i say Erik at least was all over the place trying to get meetings(the first year he was on a 500cc he was at almost every meeting i went to for the first 3 or 4 months!!!).I saw him in Denmark at the lower level and i know at the same time Kevin Wölbert was in the Zielona Gora junior side,Erik was riding for Gorzow.I think it is hard for the German lads if you are continuelly riding against the same riders all the time. I guess he would come in on a 7.But i am no great shakes with the ins and outs of British speedway rules
  3. Quite a few times from before he was on 500cc.He was the new "wonder kid" a few years back.Coming from Berlin he learnt his trade in Poland to a large extent i think rather than Germany.A bit like Stephan Katt living near Denmark rode a lot up there. But Erik has also rode a fair bit in the Danish 1 Division. He is,i would say ok to good.I wouldn't say he has progressed that much in the past 2 years. But in the Bundesliga he is normally in the junior races and he doesn't get much competition there. Was a good result for him and a bit surprised to be honest.I think Deddens is the better prospect and of course the injured Kai Huckenbeck was very impressive earlier this season.I think if Huckenbeck had of been fit and in the team Germany could have put on a serious challenge.
  4. I think in the contest, the mole is way behind the BSPA
  5. He was riding for the Gorzów junior team at one point. Not sure if he still is.
  6. I guess you were one of those that weren't planning on going to church tomorrow morning then Dave?
  7. Oh,don't you just hate those people who commentate on the heat or even worse at football......far worse than any tv commentator are those people who tell you what is going on when you can see for yourself I agree.....next time the whingers go to a meeting just tape the noise and then everytime they watch the tv turn the mute button on and play their tape......
  8. What is a Camel Toe then? Saw the couple with the kangaroo on telly, but must have missed you Dave. Not sure how i managed that
  9. Rob Lyon is also a super guy and Mark Loram should get a sainthood.......in fact what a bunch of lovely people the GB team was.I do think a round of applause is called for and a "for he's a jolly good fellow" for each and everyone
  10. Well i have been a fan and posted such on here over the years. But that was to say that he was far from a gating tart.I didn't realise until this week to use the Sultans of Ping FC's words that he was such a "Nice young man with a lovely smile..."
  11. This one for example I was a bit surprised to see no 28 on your list spelt as Voloddymyr Teigal on speedway.org for tomorrows U19 Ukraine team.I wonder if this was the spelling given out in official documents?Seems rather long winded. But like you say often you can only give an approximation unless you see how the rider himself spells his name as you often can with the Ice riders on their backs.....
  12. Yeah, and being fair to the original poster they were suggesting King's Lynn build as side based on young English talent, and why not?Don't want all them young Scottish riders leaving their home sides and going south, unless they are ready for the move into the EL.I think it makes sense for the Scottish teams to have the best Scots in their side for economical reasons at least.
  13. I tend to agree with the assesment.I think Poland will win fairly comfortably, maybe a good joker from Australia will keep it close.Don't think Russia will repeat their performance from Vojens.I just hope that the racing is good even if the title seems a foregone conclusion.....but Russia could give Sweden a good battle for the bronze
  14. I thought i heard Boyce say he would have used Ward but for his injury. And of course Sullivan wasn't riding last night when he is better than one or two that were. That is down to team spirit i would have thought. The same as Rob Lyon is trying to do.....I guess the feeling from both Rob and Craig is the best 5 riders don't neccesarily make the best team
  15. It was also good to see Edward and Adam in the pits helping out and hopefully also learning from the experience. It is important to get the team spirit going like the Aussies(maybe Ryan disagrees)and Danes do.I know Patrick Hougaard was in Tarnow helping René Bach out in the European U19 final at the weekend, and there were plenty of Aussies in the pits last night. That is the sort of thing that needs to be going on......
  16. Yes i agree with the GP's.Sorry for the misunderstanding.I was talking specifically about the SWC,which i think has been great entertainment so far.And has been over the years.Like i say,to a certain extent that has to be down to the riders. The different mix of riders compared to the GP's.If Ole is looking after the GP's and SWC meetings over the years why is there to an extent a difference?I would say down to the riders and not down to Olsen's track prep.Look at the Russian effort or danny King in Peterborough and Tai,Nicolai and Patrick last night....
  17. Well so far i think Ole has done a good job with the tracks. The meetings have been pretty good.Obviously the riders have to do their job as well, and if you get a heat with Crump up against a few youngsters you are never likely to get Crump being pushed all the way...Peterborough was a one-off.You don't get many meetings that good in a lifetime. And it was good that Ole managed to get the ref to have a re-run.But i wonder why appoint a ref who from what Stekkers said can't really comunicate in english? What other common language do all the teams in the SWC have?
  18. But a country that probably has more riders doing junior league speedway at this moment in time than Scotland have had in their entire history.........to put things into perspective here.GB have some positives to take from this tourny as do Denmark.it might not seem like that to some though
  19. I thought it looked so warm(Tatum was sweating buckets) that a bikini was called for really
  20. Saying that you don't become a bad rider overnight and he was sure Scott will recover his form.....and return to the team.i thought that was very good from Lee to even mention Scott
  21. Agreed.Would have been a hard decision with Lewis if GB had have made the Final. But the kids have to learn from this one.I must say Lee came over extremely well during this competition and his words about Scott were fantastic i thought I'd say,the only criticism and it is small....is that Rob seemed to be unsure about the start gate positions and Stekkers was the one leading the protest. But i am sure he will learn from that and has to be a bit more forcefull.....
  22. I just don't understand a lot of the people who post here....moan,moan,moan.....I thought she has done a good job.Tonight and previous meetings. If she reads the forum.....keep up the good work
  23. Yes...i will be there It might be a tough couple of years.......but the good times are just around the corner.I think there are a couple of future World Champs in Denmark coming through Come on Russia
  24. Can't blame them. Why risk anything when the job is done. And like Boyce said, they should try some other set-ups/bikes etc......makes sense to me
