Imagine buying a new silencer, then putting it into your garage for 4 years until you're allowed to use it lol!

Would it not be the trophy they'd enter though? Apparently the NDL sides are happy with the amount of meetings they get so any new teams had to enter the Trophy. No difference, except location of opponents obviously.

The way I read the post, sounded like he chose to leave rather than Edinburgh couldn't fit him in.

Premiership 2025 Predictions
szkocjasid replied to TheSmiler's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'll completely disagree that the Ipswich team needed strengthening, they were he best team by far (till injuries came in). Obviously they want to put out the best team they can to improve their chances of winning the league, so naturally looked to strengthen up. While it seems a surprise a successful team could drop their averages, that could be expected more due to the high points limit. Teams should average out at 42, teams are really running at 43 (40+RS) so teams should end up with lower averages (on the whole). -
Don't understand the decision making there, how much is having an asset like Baek worth if he can't reach a 4.00 average. Even if a club finds a future superstar like Ben Basso (don't know of he belongs to Poole or Glasgow) if he leaves to concentrate on Poland, having him as an asset does nothing for a club. Would rather clubs use Brits first than sign up new "assets"

How much of a difference does it make though? If it's gonna be all the same riders in league & trophy, will travelling expenses not be the same? May mean less visiting fans, but I don't think they'd expect many at Development league level. I guess they could always hold junior challenge matches against Workington, Edinburgh & Redcar to judge crowd levels?

1) The conversation rate is as above Prem x 1.5 2) The most recent average is used, so the 2024 Prem average is converted. As soon as a rider rides one match they revert to their Championship rolling ave. Last year rolling averages were from 2022-2024, if the 3 year rule continues, then next year it'll be 2023-2025 matches that count. If this is the case, the 2022 Champ matches will be ignored & the rider would get a new average after 8 matches.

It'll be very hard to build a stronger team than last season, most teams have to weaken due to the points limit, even Plymouth finishes above 40. Dan T will be impossible to replace imo, but if he wanted to go, what can Plymouth do? Covatti & Barker aren't a good 1&5, but that's what they ran with last year. Possibly should've given Dan a run at 5 last year, see if Barker can find form as a "second string"? If that was the team for next year, so the same with Covatti (mind you, I expect him to remain with Edinburgh)?

Premiership 2025 Predictions

Have to disagree with your opinion of Lawson, he has a higher average than the 3rd heat leaders at both Ipswich & Belle Vue, yet only a "solid engine room rider"? He may go downhill, but also may not. Many riders can keep performing as they get older these days. As for Bomber & NKI I agree they're not "reliable double points scorers" but that's the beauty of the Lynn team, they have 6 riders who could score double figures, their riders don't need to do it in every match. -
All the while reducing the averages of foreign riders to help them get team places!
-
No matter what Jack scores or what his average is, he struggles to find a team. Bit of a shame that.
-
If that was the team & Killeen keeps improving, Hook wouldn't be at reserve for long.

Premiership 2025 Predictions

Hard to judge Oxford with question marks over their final signings, but the rumours of Gilkes make no sense. Someone like Sedgmen at reserve with an 8.00 number one & they're chasing a top 4 spot. -
I was thinking the exact same thing lol!
-
It could work against clubs, there have been times when I'm not sure if I'll finish work early enough to go to a match, then on the day I have to question if i want to pay extra to get in & that's often a deal breaker for me.

Middlesbrough Tigers 2025
szkocjasid replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in National League Speedway
Sadly his point scoring could be what's stopping him getting a team spot, there will be weaker riders than him getting team spots because they have 2 point averages. A rider missing out on a team spot can often me it was because they were "too good" the previous season - only in Speedway! -

I think we will see riders losing out on development spots, not because they are ready, but because of the points limit. Remember last year, Max Perry was going to be Champ only until they changed the rules. -
I was just about to ask the same thing, have the rules changed then? Don't know why the need for secrecy? If they spotted a flaw & feel the 4 point rule was a mistake, just explain why it changed & harp on about the reason being for DEVELOPMENT

New SGP Format.
szkocjasid replied to a4poster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'm sure it'll be the same as this year, with 2nds, 3rds & 4ths ranked by points then most 3,2,1,0s followed by who heat who, then 2024 ranking. I do feel it's a very unnecessary rule, can't see why they don't just count the heat points from the non-finalists? If 4 riders finish on 4 points, why can't they all get 4 GP points? -

I don't think they'd need to add any extra deciders, probably just stick with 2024 ranking. -
Duplicated

The 3 league rule only lasted one year, Hagon is ineligible because his Champ average is over 4.

Do we expect Luke Killeen to remain in the NDL next season?

Found the article I was looking for https://watch.britishspeedway.co.uk/articles/spires-riss-bliss?fbclid=IwY2xjawG27Z9leHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHVa6dkbQ9aVZTUKKD5xRoHI2lIK5Hu_wkNQCmrG85dm7uW-73DmAiP1Kog_aem_mWtSPBh7pCjkRjPJ9eP5pg Highlighted a few comments by Schroeck about Riss: OXFORD boss Peter Schroeck believes that Erik Riss can be a huge star “once he realises how good he is”. The Spires have snapped up the hugely-talented German for their ROWE Motor Oil Premiership campaign in 2025. Riss joins up with Rohan Tungate, Charles Wright and Luke Killeen at Cowley for next season. He said: “I really want to step it up and be consistent all the way through in 2025. “I’m very excited to be back at Oxford next year and thank Peter (Schroeck) and Jamie (Courtney) for putting their trust in me. “I really enjoyed my time at Oxford in 2024 and we had a great team. We will also have a great team next year and I am already excited to be riding at Sandy Lane again.” Schroeck is convinced that Riss can be a big-hitter for the Spires. He said: “He’s a top rider and in the right environment we get the most out of him, as he showed last year. “Once Erik realises how good he is, he will be even better. We are very lucky to have him back on board and I am obviously delighted.” If Riss is a good as Schroeck believed he is, why is everyone concerned about the lack of a number one? Does Schroeck know something we don't know? If Riss is as good as Schroeck believes he can be, then Oxford could possibly challenge for the title (if they build to 40 points).

Oxford make the first NDL signings for next year. Ashton Vale (6.17) & Senna Summers (3.44) returning to Cowley.
