  1. Forecast for today & tomorrow, looked fine. Of course if the track had already taken a lot of water & can't be raced on, that's fine, but mentioning the forecast as a reason for a postponement when it looks ok, leaves people to be suspicious & doubt the reasons given. Would have been better off to say, postponed due to a waterlogged track. If it's not waterlogged, then shouldn't have been called off.
  2. I don't think their reserves are far off the top 3. But if it's 1st vs 4th, can't see them stopping Ipswich.
  3. Really don't understand Wright not getting an extra ride.
  4. Leicester in with a great chance of the play-offs now.
  5. With more dropped home points, struggle to see Oxford making the play-offs now. Lack of bonus points really costing them. Their own fault for making the team weaker than. On paper Leicester & Lynn should be good enough at home to finish above Oxford.
  6. Have to question Oxford's team manager (again). Putting Riss in heat 15, means he's one of the top two Oxford riders. So as he's at reserve, why not give him an extra ride before heat 15?
  7. Say this comment in the Speedway Star "Tom Brennan has called for his Birmingham bosses to pick a riding order and stick with it" now I've not read the rest of the article yet, but my first reaction is why? If Brummies lose every week, why would you keep the same riding order, why not try something new. Also most of their riders race in multiple countries, with different formats, or race in 2 leagues in GB with different teammates, so how would keeping the same riding order benefit them? I guess an argument could be made that Worrall should always ride at 2, because he can't score from anywhere else & Brennan is the obvious number 5 anyway.
  8. No idea, just making a point that NL may not work on alternative race nights. I'd agree 2H & 2A would be a good idea if they 1) got rid of the play-offs, 2) teams worked together to get through the fixtures, 3) riders put British speedway first over foreign fixtures. But I don't see any of those 3 happening.
  9. On paper should be a massive Leicester win, but they've not impressed this season, so I'll go for 48-42 home win.
  10. This is a new experience for Speedway fans, will happen often this season, not the booing part lol, but cheering a rider one week not the next. Will only happen for Oxford though. Although some speedway fans will have been used to riders guesting for rivals & which could knock their own clubs out of competitions. Perhaps the Oxford situation is the lesser of two evils, Harris scoring well for Glasgow helps them make the play-offs over the Cheetahs, but doesn't hurt the Spires.
  11. I know there is no BSN & KOC in your idea, my point was if they can't cope with some clubs having 18 matches & others having 11 matches, how would they cope with every club having 16 home matches minimum? I understand your point regarding the NL, but if Middlesbrough would get 600 on a Friday but half that on an alternative race night, of course they'll want to stick to Fridays.
  12. Some people only focus on his bad meetings, but he still has a near 6.5 average for the season. So if he's had lots of poor meetings, logically he much have had lots of good meetings, otherwise he'd have a far lower average. He's not stepped up like he & Edinburgh would have hoped & yes he's had poor meetings, but I don't understand all the criticism he's received.
  13. On paper should be fine. But remember there's lots of Friday tracks, in the later rounds of the KOC & BSN some will be knocked out, but in the league, they'll either have to race on off nights, or take it in turns to have a home match one Friday & the away match the following. With the amount of postponements & many clubs apparent lack of assistance re-arranging fixtures, I can see the season going into late October / November again. In a perfect world should be no issue, but with weather, matches now called off for forecasts even when it doesn't rain, fixed race nights, foreign fixtures etc won't be as easy as 10 years ago to hold so many meetings. Finally don't forget, without the NL, where will the future Championship riders come from. The more foreigners in teams, the harder to arrange fixtures. Glasgow apparently avoided Vissing due to Danish clashes.
  14. It happens at other tracks, far more houses around Armadale than there used to be. Once explained that's it'll be noisy for a couple of hours once a week in the summer, they can either take it or leave it. Wouldn't it be great if there was a village of only speedway fans moving in?
  15. The speedway club didn't need all 164 acres to continue. No reason (apart from greed) the owners couldn't have built houses, while keeping the speedway.
  16. Harris, Kerr, Cook, Kemp & Wright ride against Oxford in the Champ, while Masters & Jenkins ride against Oxford in the Prem, they should be used to it. If they can ride against their own team, so can Nicholls.
  17. I'm certain there is, but a club can still ask a rider. Circumstances may have changed since the start of the season.
  18. In place of Liebmann yes, Zischke certainly not.
  19. I wasn't meaning you were blaming Kemp, just a general comment for all, don't blame Kemp - he's not the reason for Oxford being weak, the manager is. I've never known a team to keep making themselves weaker. I guess Leicester did it last year, but that was more of a panic move after the Morris (or was it Worrall) suspension, Oxford don't have the luxury of that same excuse.
  20. That's quite realistic, if Flint has scored 0 from 3 then Ermolenko would give him his 4th ride lol!
