  1. Cheers mate if you get down to us let me know I,ll buy you a beer
  2. Glasshouses and all that,Plymouth have moved on from previous promotions took a step back into nl and rebuilt the clubs finances with much improved commercial side, and the track and facilities are excellent club should not be judged on previous owners.
  3. There was other reasons but this was definitely one of them, as a consequence the plymouth promotion would move race night to a Tuesday to enable teams to do plymouth on Tuesday and Somerset on a Wednesday a nice little southern tour helping keep costs down but if they can’t see the benefits of that at the top table it's no wonder british speedway is on the crest of a slump.
  4. If Somerset were allowed to revert back to Friday nights that would confirm how bias and unfair plymouth are being treated by the mc,as one of the reasons for plymouth being turned down last season was that there is to many Friday night tracks but i guess that doesn't apply when your promoter is on the mc,who says it's not all about self interest and different rules for different clubs. I will watch developments with interest but I think I know what the outcome will be,the word corrupt springs to mind!
  5. That's the same bloke who is putting as many obstacles, financially, commercially and logistically in place preventing plymouth from competing in the championship
  6. And I thought I was the only rob Godfrey fan,he really isn't what is required on the management committee imo
  7. Is next year the last of present lease? If so is it likely to be renewed?
  8. Is the general consensus that plymouth should be denied the chance to join the championship if so what justification would you offer for that, seems crazy to say that there is not enough riders, which would mean we have to many teams! Surely we want more teams not tracks closing?
  9. Maybe, still think plymouth deserve a place in the championship why wouldn't they?
  10. Didn't know that if they don't run on Wednesday is Thursday still an option
  11. Plymouth i feel sure would want to compete in the championship next season, held 2 meetings last season against all odds which were hugely successful, stadium upgrades include new stand with seating, upgraded stadium lighting and the track is the best its ever been ,willing to run on a Tuesday which would make a great southern tour,Plymouth Tuesday, Somerset Wednesday, Poole Thursday hopefully the forward thinking management committee would not be so shortsighted as to at least have a conversation with the gladiators promotion they seem happy enough to have Newcastle in the league with all that they got going on and only 1year left on their lease,Plymouth for the championship would be good for the league imo.
  12. Self interest! Thats the problem with the management committee in a nutshell
  13. Great meeting, track was excellent and new lighting in the Coliseum adding to ever improving facilities
  14. Thanks for the reply, always interested to hear someone else's perspective on things just to make sure I'm not seeing things through rose tinted glasses ! 100% agree with your observations
  15. Did u come down to Plymouth Richard? If so what did u think?
  16. Ian has certainly helped matters on the commercial side of things but the track and stadium facilities is down to hard graft from mark Phillips and a small but loyal band of volunteers no promoter works harder and its Mark's hard work that encouraged ian to get involved.
  17. Absolutely superbly run meeting, the track the best it's ever been, the announcer slick and professional ,covid measures spot on and great racing from fully committed riders who looked to thoroughly enjoy themselves a credit to all concerned. Plymouth Gladiators are on a upward spiral!
  18. Tickets for this meeting is sold out, well done plymouth speedway!
  19. Awesome effort by Plymouth speedway, this promotion want and deserve success and acceptance into a higher league
  20. Racing at Plymouth will commence on 1st September, and then the following Tuesdays don't know how many meetings they are hoping to get in at the moment.
  21. Ben barker will not disappoint he,ll take a few meetings to find his best set up at the OTA and will score consistently well thereafter, he will win his critics over no problem imo,but you only got him because the powers to be contrived an excuse to keep Plymouth out of the championship this season, but possibly done them a favour with this pandemic I will get up to the OTA to see bb ride he's always good value.
  22. Watched the documentary it just confirms what I already thought great club, great promotion, great facilities and great fans and if you was a rider why wouldn't you want to ride for them, that's from all the way down here in Plymouth
