Very little difference these days between the two divisions. A top flight team would still beat a second tier team of course before anyone pipes up with that, but the difference is marginal compared to years gone by. My preference has always been a return to the top flight since the day we dropped down, but these days Im not so sure. You could argue that the Championship is currently a more attractive League with more variety and numbers.

thanks for that. Surprised as he was a very passionate Hammers supporter and Speedway in general. Maybe you’re right and the move up a League will help light the fire again.

Ive noticed reading this thread that theres a lack of postings from Nobby, used to be a regular poster and we had some good friendly banter back in the day. Hope the fellow is ok.. I was going to mention that on my post actually Taps. I know theyre going with Mondays and Wednesdays, but I wondered if they were going to make an exception for Bank Holidays..

Me too definitely. We haven’t had a Good Friday meeting for a couple of seasons though but that was because of the fixture clashes and losing riders to Premiership teams. Maybe we’ll see a return this year with no Premiership meetings on Fridays.

Purely down to numbers from my point of view Badge. I thought Nathan was outstanding this year but for me theres better value going with Danyon and Jenkins at the bottom end as two 2 pointers. Ive come up with some teams myself that included Nathan, but they didnt look anywhere near as impressive as the potential teams that included Hume and Jenkins. Hume is a shoe in for one of the reserve spots, and as a regular at Mildenhall well regret not including Jenkins who is a super talent and IMO will up his 2.00 average more than Greaves will up his. If we dont sign Jordan then you can bet your last Rolo that somebody else will and theyll get the advantage of his 2 point average. We cant let that happen.

Most of the team is done according to Chris Louis and theyre looking to complete things over the next week or two.

Could be wrong but I think Taps may have been being a little mischievous.. Or maybe he wasnt! Taps? The rumour has been there ever since the set race nights was rumoured to be Thursdays for the top flight, because we are a Thursday track. But, we rode plenty of meetings this year on other days so Im not convinced its a deal breaker to the promotion. Well find out later I guess.

I understand it will bother some people, to me personally I couldnt care less who it is. Ideally Rory would be lining up on Thursday but hes injured and we need a guest. To me its 5 Witches and a.n other/guest used to do a job for our injured rider. For me its irrelevant who that is. Like I say I understand Ill be in the minority here.

Nicholls isnt a contracted Peterborough rider though nor a Witches rider. Guests are a necessity unfortunately and both clubs have needed one. Does it really matter who that guest is? Not really. The Peterborough team does have a look of throwing in the towel a bit which is a shame. Is there seriously nobody half decent available they could have brought in? Not convinced an awful lot of effort was made tbh.

Holder was pretty good on his last Foxhall visit if I remember rightly? Bit optimistic for Rory to be fit for Thursday with a badly sprained ankle? Yet again when Lady Luck hasn’t been with us (story of our bloody season!) we’ve battled away right til the end. Full credit to the lads. I may be biased of course but those riders deserve something out of this season for their efforts all season.
