What Would You Change In Speedway Next Season?
Arch Stanton replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Christ almighty! Time of the month dear? Of course its irrelevant unless youre trying to say that wearing individual leathers was a factor in Speedway booming in those days ? By the way havent you got some ironing to be getting on with? Yep definitely Andy. -

Whether Speedway was booming back then or not is totally irrelevant to what was being discussed. -

Looks a complete mess to be honest. Team suits for me. -
Absolute waster!!

Schlein out for the rest of the season. Just one last kick in the nuts for the Witches before the winter. When its not your year, its not your year! Glad its almost over.

Totally agree what’s the issue here? Hand over the money you received Ged to pay the fine. He’s not going to be out of pocket is he? Agree on the second point too, probably should have been more! -
Ipswich V Sheffield Po Final 2nd Leg 30-9-17
Arch Stanton replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done Sheffield the best team in the league and fully deserved. -
Quite right Badge was going to say something similar. They get plenty out on Twitter.

Thursday is a meeting we could really do with Nico. Our best rider there. Makes you realise just how well weve done to finish second this season when for most of it we replaced Nico with that whopper Sedgmen!!

Hope so. This kid is a talent and itll be great to see what he can do. Hes outperformed Mountain a number of times at Mildenhall this year and hes tipped for a big future. Big ask obviously at 16 to step straight in to a pressure cauldron of a play off final in a higher league, but alternatively it would be a good test of his character and readiness for next season. Interesting that next Saturday is now the SECOND leg of the final rather than the first (if as expected Sheffield finish the job in the semi), will the promotion be delighted or disappointed with that? On one hand it could be the chance to win the title and parade the trophy in front of our own supporters, but also if we get battered at Sheffield and the tie is all but over (with the way they're riding its entirely possible), it could affect what was expected to be a huge money spinner for the club with the biggest attendance at Foxhall for years.

Jordan Jenkins will be the best 2 pointer next year..

Impossible to call for me, toss of a coin. Don't think either side can feel confident. -

Christ on a bike people will have a whinge at anything these days. Ipswich have advertised the start of meetings at 7.30 since 1950 ffs. Quite right too. If it was advertised at 7.45 and you went for the first time and got in at 7.43, only to be told by the regulars you've missed the parade and introduction of the riders on show would you be happy? In 35 years of attending, I've never seen or heard anyone kick up a fuss because they were told it was a 7.30 start and have had to wait 15 minutes for the first race! -
I agree. Fozz comes across as a cracking bloke and does an awful lot in attempting to promote Ipswich Speedway so credit for that. But I'm afraid he doesn't make a good presenter IMO.
-
Has Mr Long given up presenting duties? Not on the mic again on Thursday and I see on twitter that he's the new manager of a pub, that opens Thursday to Sunday's.. Big loss if he has.

This isn't the first time you've come out with this utter horse sh!te. He wasn't "over riding" at all, he was being Cameron Heeps. To him he doesn't "settle" for anything. He never gives up and battles for every point no matter what the meeting situation is. Thank god for riders like him because we have enough boring white line riders that do plenty of "settling" these days as it is! We have another racer in Nico Covatti who puts bums on seats. Another rider who never gives up and battles for every point. Unfortunately he too is out with injury just like Heeps currently is. These types of riders will unfortunately suffer more than most but it's these types of riders that is keeping the sport just about alive in this Country.

We do indeed Badge. He's been riding himself in to good form the last month or two despite still carrying a few knocks so fingers crossed he recovers sharpish. -

The track early doors was tricky and didn't provide any entertainment whatsoever. Thankfully the issues were ironed out and we've seen some good racing over the last few months. Expect we'll see some good battles between King and Harris. -

Workington V Ipswich 19/8/17
Arch Stanton replied to RedcarB123's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He does indeed. After an understandably slow start to the season he's been on an upward curve for a while now. Great to see. Greaves too has been a breath of fresh air and has admirably covered the huge blow of losing Hume early doors. We still have a problem area in the team which is like a big black cloud hanging over our chances of silverware but the rest are doing us proud. Gotta say such a shame to see Sarg struggling so badly and I'm surprised too. He was very good for us last season I thought in a difficult number 2 position. Scored a shed load of bonus points for us and was an excellent partner for King. Hard to fathom why he's struggled so badly. -

Well if any doubts remained that has surely put them to bed. Great result and looking forward to the play offs. -

What a crock of sh!te. He's been dropped by more clubs than I've had hot dinners this year. In fact, if anything he's damn lucky and should be thanking his lucky stars that the Ipswich promotion are crap at maths! All of this feeling sorry for him is getting right on my t!ts. Sympathy from fans of other clubs I might add!! -
