That’s much better value if you’re someone who buys a programme. I personally have never bothered but a lot do, and it’s something we didn’t include in the Ipswich one.

Yes it was us that offered 12 Premiership meetings and the first round of the Cup. Must admit I thought Sheffield and a few others had the same offer but obviously not. Sheffield’s works out that you’ll save £24 quid if you attend every meeting. So one free meeting and a quid off another. Think they need to be better value across the board to be honest.

Good looking side that. Will be in the mix

Not entirely sure, but I’m guessing that a single charge against Everton is quicker and easier to sort than 115 charges against City which will be more complex. Will City ever get charged? The cynic in me says no and they’ve simply made an example out of Everton here rather than go after the oil clubs backed by hundreds of billions and risk getting taken to the cleaners! Let’s not forget either, Six clubs went behind the Premier League’s back and their own fans’ back, to secretly join a European super league which threatened to destroy the entire English football pyramid. Their punishment? A fine of around 22 million spread between the six of them and a telling off. Everton one single breach of P&S rules relating to a tax issue on a loan for their new Stadium, and they get hit with an unprecedented 10 point deduction?? Yeah, that stinks to high heaven. Edit: apologies to the Plymouth fans for going off track on your thread. -

Nah. Everton will still finish above Bournemouth, comfortably. I’d say it’s more likely those deductions get reduced if not wiped off completely on appeal. Listening to the finance experts this afternoon, they have a very strong case. Even if they don’t win the appeal, Everton will stay up comfortably. One of the form teams at the moment and going well. The three promoted clubs are absolutely rotten. -

Six team league. Lynn will finish fifth or sixth. Standard -
I make that top six 41.3 with British reduction for Bewely. Will be interesting to see what the limit is set at. I’ve heard both 40 and 41 for the top six.

To be fair dropping that point the first of the two years was probably due to him having a cracking season in ‘21 where he upped his average from 6.33 to 8.12. Still maintain he’ll put a point minimum on a starting average of 5.71. He’s a better rider than that no doubt about it. Not sure the “downward spiral” is a permanent thing either. I’d label the riders in their late 30’s early 40’s like Iversen and Andersen as on a downward spiral, but not a 27 year old personally. Riders naturally decline as they hit the Autumn of their career but Ellis surely has an awful lot more in the tank as yet. I genuinely don’t know where he’s headed, I’ve heard the Ipswich rumour on here but I’m not sure there’s anything in that. Wherever he ends up I’d bet my last Rolo that a change will do him good and he’ll average 7+. Time will tell.
-
Which is the reason he’d be a good signing. He’s proven to be far better than a 5.5 riders for many seasons now. The riders that drop more than a point off their average due to one poor year are the smartest signings to make. Doesn’t always mean they’ll put that immediately back on of course so there’s no such thing as a dead cert. If he has another poor year next year and stays on a similar average then you can maybe start to ask a few more questions. I personally think whoever signs him though will be getting a rider who’ll put a point on his starting average at a bare minimum.

I would have gone with J Holder and Musielak as the two heatleaders personally.

Indeed. Would be a terrific signing and would give the club a huge boost having a strong rider leading the side. -

We don’t know if that “rule” will still be in place. I’d like to ask the question to whoever made this rule, why that rule was made and the reasons behind it. We have a points limit, why can a club sign two riders from the Ekstraliga, but not a third? Sometimes it seems daft rules are made up just for the sake of it.

Exactly. Probably THE plum signing this winter for somebody.

Think this gets overplayed. We have that at Ipswich where Chris Louis foolishly listens to Ritchie Hawkins when it comes to team building. The team is built who the manager wants to work with and who are good for “team spirit”. We haven’t won a league title since he’s been manager. That’s not all on him though, Louis is ultimately the one in charge so it’s down to him at the end of the day. We haven’t won a league title under his promotion either. Whether riders get on or there’s a good team spirit I couldn’t give a monkeys to be honest. They all have money to earn so will try and win races for their own personal gain. Just give me the best seven riders you can get.
