Nobody has been “dropped”, or “released” for that matter. Every rider is out of contract until they sign a new one for the following year. Belle Vue have simply decided not to sign them for the 2024 season which is their right.

I kind of agree with the sentiment to a degree, you nearly always get these kind of sound bites from sportsman when they sign for a club in most sports. The best one is footballers when they sign for a club in a country the other side of the world, “I’ve always wanted to sign for this club I’ve been a fan since I was a kid”. Yeah of course you have. A few on here are way off with Doyle though. Having been lucky enough to speak to him a couple of times due to my place of work sponsoring meetings, he’s genuinely found a home here, loves the whole atmosphere around the place, gets on very very well with the promotion team and has made Foxhall his fortress. Would he move elsewhere for more money? Possibly, but all things being equal he’d pick Ipswich over anyone else in the league currently. I’d say it would take a decent pay increase to tempt him elsewhere.

Have to agree. Going to find points hard to come by looking at some of the other more established Rising Stars. If they’re prepared to still chuck him in to aid his development then fair play to them though.

Palm Toft for Thomson Phil and Lynn is spot on.

From what I recall I don’t think he particularly likes Foxhall, but he scores pretty well here. Not so much this year which was a poor year for him in general, but he was outstanding in both visits with Sheffield in 2021. Paid 14 on his first visit and 16 the second visit. Think a move to Foxhall with Emil and Doyle will spark him in to life again. Expecting a good season from him.

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions

That’s a shame. Probably rode himself out of a team place in all probability! Average just under 5 now looks a bit awkward. -

Uninspiring. Really not sure on Tarasenko on an average just under 7. When he first came over on a 5, sure, but not on 7 for me. Find another on a 5.00 assessed who has the potential to up that average like Tarasenko has. Doesn’t always work of course. Rew came on an assessed 5 and ended up dropping it so it’s always a gamble. But personally I’d much rather roll the dice and take the chance on a potential average jumper, than signing riders whose averages look bang on the money. Edit: Mind you, MPT at reserve should fill his boots. -
I tend to agree, his talent is obvious but we didn’t see it too often this season. If he returns, I’m quietly confident he’ll enjoy a much better second season. Anyway, Sheffield thread this one

I’m not sure it was “miles weaker”. Both Dan Thompson and Danyon Hume averaged more than both Gilkes and Edwards last year over all meetings. Ipswich’ tail was certainly weaker than Sheffield’s will be this year on the whole granted, as Rew struggled and made it a bottom three, which won’t be the case with Sheffield with their weakest member of the top 5 (Howarth) certainly stronger than Rew was last year. On your point about predicting Ipswich will again have a much weaker tail end than Sheffield next year, we’ll have to wait and see on that.

Glasgow Tigers 2024

It would have helped him massively if he had a proper mechanic in his pit bay that knew what they were doing. -
Think other clubs without the financial backing to go top heavy, will see Sheffield’s reserves as an area to exploit by going strength in depth with a strong number 6. Well they don’t have much choice really, but they’ll see that as a way of competing. As eye catching as our (Ipswich) team looked at first glance last year, our tail caught us out far too often. Let’s have it right, if Morris hadn’t have derailed Leicester’s season, we were finishing 5th in a 7 team league and not even making the play offs. Yes the Riss issue didn’t help and if he’d not had issues and rode to his average, we may have won meetings we lost narrowly but still, having a weak tail is and will be a concern. Home form will be strong of course, but I think both Woffinden and C Holder will be flaky away from Sheffield, and Howarth and Pickering aren’t great travellers either so that coupled with the weak tail could see them struggle on the road.

Kemp has been on the Rising Star list since they brought the scheme in. Ipswich signed both Kemp AND Anders Rowe in 2021, both of whom were in the Rising Star list. Rowe was selected as the senior Ipswich reserve at number 6.

3.48 left by my calculations for a reserve

Never known anyone to get things out this quickly after the AGM before. They’ve even released all their season ticket details so fair play to them.

Pickering and Howarth back. No surprises there.
