  1. “I’m really happy with the result, it was a really tough battle. We managed to come through it and get a decent lead, so I’m delighted with all seven of them on a tricky track tonight due to the weather we had last night. I’m delighted with the boys, and it is a good lead, but we know Sheffield are going to come strong on Thursday. “It was a brilliant performance from our three heat leaders, they won a lot of races. Heat 13 and 15 were crucial 5-1s, that is eight points up in two heats and they could easily have been shared heats. They have been superb all season and we have talked a lot about it, you can’t put into words the job they have done, and they have come up trumps again and what a pleasure they have been to work with. “It was tough out there tonight, 13 out of the 14 riders attacked the track and battled hard. It felt like a battle, and it wasn’t enjoyable conditions for anyone to ride in, but it couldn’t be helped. The weather played its part which it does at this time of year, and it was a proper final with two teams battling their hardest. I’m sure it will be the same on Thursday. “We had concerns having to move it to a Tuesday and clashing with the football team who are doing great this season but wow, you came out in force again. I spoke to everyone on the mic to re-iterate again, thank you for all of the support, you have made the world of difference to get us in the position we are in. We have come from the brink, and we now have a great opportunity to make this a legendary season.” Hawkins concedes the track was difficult and holds his hands up but people are going overboard in their criticism here. Most of the comments on here are from people who don’t live in Ipswich and didn’t see the rain we had Monday evening and then again Tuesday morning. No summer sunshine or heat yesterday to dry the track out either. Similar to last week for the Belle Vue semi, it literally pi$$ed it down at 7.30 just before the parade!
  2. It’s not like that every week though as Doyle alluded to during the meeting. It’s usually very smooth and has been nearly all season but conditions were tricky a few weeks ago in the cup final against Sheffield, and you have to wonder whether that played a part in the track prep this evening? They knew after Holder’s hissy fit about the track a few weeks ago, that they could probably take him out of the game by preparing it exactly the same again. IF that was the plan, it’s worked because it’s practically the same result.
  3. Oh come on it wasn’t just the two mate was it? Hume was the only Ipswich rider who struggled with it but he does most weeks. None of the other Ipswich boys struggled to get around.
  4. The biggest joke is him showing no desire to ride Speedway in his home country and then just pop over for the play offs every year! The bellend.
  5. You can’t be getting beat at home by the rising star really. He’s been a problem all year as we all know, we’ve got away with it up til now but it could come back to bite us on the ar$e in the end.
  6. Hume has balls big enough to come in a dump truck, but unfortunately he doesn’t have the skill or talent to go full throttle in to the bends. He needs to learn when to knock off the throttle a tad and calm down a bit.
  7. Disagree on the first one. Emil got sandwiched and knocked from the right and the left. Yes he could easily have stayed on but his race was over. Definitely a case of first bend bunching for me but the lights should have come on straight away. Second one, Hume made a mistake and was the cause of the stoppage, so he should have gone.
  8. Stead is right there, took far too long putting the lights on.
  9. Proper scraping the bottom of the barrel economy muck those burgers! Every year somebody somewhere convinces me they’ve “improved” and I’m daft enough to believe them and give them another go. The reality hits after the first bite and first chew of bone and gristle and in the bin it goes. Proper rank! The hot dogs aren’t any better, stale baguettes and a sausage with an armoured coating that’ll get you an appointment at the dentist on the Friday. You fill ya boots though
  10. You’re getting confused with the 18 point lead we just took to Belle Vue Badge. We took a 12 point lead to Sheffield from the Foxhall meeting, and lost the superheat in the return fixture for the bonus point. If you offered me another 12 point lead right now I’d snap your hand off!
  11. More fool them. The “food” at Foxhall is absolutely garbage. In my opinion of course.
  12. It really does unfortunately! With you here. I honestly wouldn’t cross the road to watch it even if it was free entry! But it’s incredibly well supported.
  13. Not a chance would he. Loves his football and goes himself! There’s not a cat in hells chance he’d have picked tomorrow as an alternative. It’s the Banger world final at Foxhall on Saturday, wonder whether that has played any part? Not sure how many days before that that you’re allowed to run.
  14. Can imagine that would really grate on the Birmingham supporters, especially when inevitably the majority on this forum will just refer to them as “Wolves” when the meeting threads start.
  15. Nonsense. It’s an extra meeting they know they’ve now got before making the decision to cancel. There’s no way on gods green earth Chris Louis would cancel a meeting with a guaranteed biggest crowd of the season, to rearrange it on a date when the football team is playing and his gate receipts will take a massive hit. All because “he’s running scared of Chris Harris”? LOL.
  16. His interview from his hospital bed just after the crash worries me Badge. Firstly he wasn’t even 100% sure he was going to carry on although admitted he probably would, and then spoke of having to get over the mental scars and nerves from returning from such a big crash. If you go to tapes with any kind of fear then you’re destined to fail in this sport. It was very quick after the accident though so emotions would no doubt be running high and he’s had plenty of time since for his mindset to have changed, but after the Riss thing this year I’m not sure I’d want to go in to a new season with any more risks. Edit: I’d personally go for Dan Thompson again at 7 whether that be a rising star role again, or if it’s scrapped, a standard second reserve. Did better than I was expecting to be honest.
  17. And lose a huge chunk of income? Behave. This will severely cut the attendance.
  18. King has been in really good form through most of September for both clubs but just the last week or two as you say, he’s just starting to drop off it a bit. Desperately need him firing. We also can’t afford to carry anybody so Riss is going to have to contribute something over the next two meetings if we’re to be successful. A repeat of his three duck eggs at Belle Vue will be a disaster, especially without Rew taking a ride as Hume is unlikely to fair much better away from home. By his own admission he’s been surprised and very grateful the promotion stuck by him this year, he now has a golden opportunity to repay that loyalty.
  19. LOL of course it’ll have been a lucky punt if he scores your “5 to 7 at most” because he hasn’t hit that low a figure in his last 7 visits there over the last two years! Those are simply statistical facts. Now put your fishing rod away there’s a good lad.
  20. Of course there’s a chance Harris has a stinker but all that will prove is Orion got very lucky with his prediction. Over the last two season’s, Harris’ scores at Foxhall have been 11+1, 9+1, 14+1, 14+1, 8+1, 12+2 and 10+3 so there’s absolutely nothing in the recent past to suggest Harris will score “between 5 and 7 at best”. I hope he’s right though!!
  21. He was riding against Ipswich’ heatleaders on his last visit to Foxhall this season with Leicester where he scored paid 14 (beating Emil). Orion is talking out of his ring piece.
