Well they might have to if they want to win something it’s as simple as that. They’ve been unlucky in the sense that Thomas would have been one of the better rising stars and it was a big blow to lose him, but the choice after that was a strange one. I get that they were reluctant to use a couple of obvious choices and wanted to move away from those and go down a different path, but doing that could end up costing us. Three or four points here and there instead of zero’s and one’s makes a difference. We know we’re one of the weaker side down at reserve because of the way they chose to build this year, but picking one of if not THE weakest rising stars has compounded the issue.

We did indeed but as someone rightly pointed out earlier, one of those was down to Riss racking up a cricket score at reserve. We do still have riders that go well here though, Doyle obviously, king can win races here and Barker can also be a nuisance at times.

Think we’ll make a better fist of it here than others have, but still can’t see us winning. Rew’s first time here and I don’t think the track will suit him to put it mildly, and although it was a long time ago, Emil struggled around here with Coventry scoring 5 and failing to win a race. If Becker is a bit rusty after his lay off that will help us mind you.

It should in theory be a track Rew will take to, it suits his style. whereas Monmore on Monday you’d expect him to struggle. We’ll see.

This is a track that should suit Rew. Good from an Ipswich point of view that’s he’s getting a look at the place before we visit.

If they’d have uploaded those pictures yesterday afternoon and announced a postponement, nobody would have batted an eyelid. To think when I got there just before 7 and Bob was watering the track is quite remarkable.

Well Bob is watering the track unbelievably!

Well he isn’t a “reserve” is he let’s get that right. He started as a reserve because of a crafty bit of shenanigans by Lynn. Who’d have thunk it!!

Foxhall is nothing like Monmore.

It’s hit and miss, can be bone dry one side of the road and soaked the other. But as Taps says, I’ve been in town centre and the drains have been overflowing! Guinness is going down very well though

We had the same forecast down here in Suffolk for yesterday, scattered thundery showers some heavy. We never had a single drop here in Ipswich but I know others a bit further afield did. Same is forecast for today but they’re so hit and miss they’re impossible to call. If you get caught in one, it seems it would completely wash the track away! But you MIGHT be lucky and escape them completely, or you could encounter a quick flood. 50/50..

As frustrating as it is, I think you’ll have to be patient just a little while longer. A quality rider maybe available from June.

That isn’t true.

We see this so often from Doyley at Foxhall now that when he misses the gate you just expect it to happen! An old cliche, but he really is worth the admission on his own.
