Here's to a long and renewed future for Belle Vue Speedway - the most famous name in the Sport and MY Elite League Team too. I hope that those who were so negative in the past will now support this venture which those of us who have remained faithful to the cause have been doing all along. Perhaps they could include an Individual Score Chart at the end of the Meeting. I'm sure they used to do this. A pity they stopped. :sad:

You may be right about getting rid of GoSpeed - but - they probably have Speedway Promoters over a barrel with Legal Contracts etc. It may not be so easy to do.........................

Thoroughly enjoyed the Speedway on SKY last night. I thought that Chris Louis was excellent and that the 'around the Tracks' Sections were terrific. I wish folk wouldn't have a go at Sam Ermolenko and Ryan Sullivan - they were both trying to do something new - I thought, considering that, they both did rather well. A big Well Done to SKY - they have done their best to improve their product and they should be praised for that. I, for one, hope that SKY can renew their Speedway Contract from next year. I prefer the League Speedway to the GPs** anyway. Perhaps we could see a bit more Premier League Speedway. Just a suggestion. **Even though I watch the GPs.

Plenty of self righteous folk on here. Personally - I would prefer to wait until the FULL facts come out before commenting.

I was lucky enough to see a number of clashes (sometimes literally) between Jack Millen and Tony Childs some of their Races were epic - but - neither would give an inch. I used to think he was a dirty Rider but that, I think, was because I supported Sunderland. Remembering now I think of two very hard men who were prepared to dish it out - but - could take it as well. I remember them both with respect. May they both Rest in Peace.

That doesn't answer the question about an alternative System though. I don't think that MOST Speedway Supporters like the 'Guest System' but what else can we do? As has already been pointed out - if you get hammered at Home every week because you are filling in with Juniors people will stop attending - once they are lost to Speedway it is b****y difficult to get them back. We found THAT out at Sunderland near enough forty years ago. As has been said, a Pool (no pun intended) of Riders is far too expensive and would not be workable anyway. What Rider worth his salt would be prepared to sit in the Pits week after week with no Rides if there were no injuries. The Squad rotation System wouldn't work either because Riders need MORE Rides not less. I appreciate what you are saying Rob - BUT - I can't think of any other workable System - can you? Until that question is answered, I guess we are stuck with 'Guest Riders'.

I think Kus is a big let down. He seems, in general, to finish either First or Last when I have seen him. If he is leading in to the first bend - he will probably win - if if he is not leading - then he doesn't seem interested. I am sure that if I am wrong about this, and I may be, someone will put me right.

Oh - for pete's sake. OK - it WAS mentioned - but SURELY that is GOOD for Speedway in general. You know - PUBLICITY and all that. Spreading the word is important and ANY mention of the Speedway Press is a good thing in my book. Honestly - what will people find to complain about next.
