The secret business world of speedway. Let’s hope this solution lasts longer than the remainder of the season. .

Strange how in the middle of summer so few speedway meetings . Guess clashing with Wimbledon Tennis is the issue this week.

Well not far wrong in predicting Billy Cairns a paid max tonight. Great debut. As forecast a comfy home win. -

Comfortable home win. Billy Cairns a 4 ride paid maximum . Glasgow turning up with 2 guests unlikely to prove too much of a problem . Thought D Thompson was just back from injury? -
Wimbledon Dons...back from the dead?!!

Yup Money helps….. but potential crowds of 50000 supporters would also help. Football has little difficulty in rebuilding or building new stadia . UK speedway playing to crowds of several hundred every other week for 6 months a year makes a very difficult business case, especially around London. -

Add this to the list of clubs allegedly reopening around London. Rye House, Lakeside/Arena Essex now Wimbledon. -
Poole fans not happy with only a 20 point win !! OK they were lucky that Ritchings was taken out early doors and they had the benefit of running Starkers (Harbourmaster Champignon) for extra rides. That number 7 slot seems to be a problem for Muddleditch and Foord to fill ..... they have Billy Cairns on standby when he turns 16 I think? Must be better teams this year to beat Poole ?

Doyle was certainly below par at the SGP and will have to hope he can gate - can't see him taking any chances like he usually does tbh. Still looks like KL have too many passengers to conjure up a win with R/R for the "injured" Cook. Frankly its a disgrace that riders can turn pick and choose when they are injured turn up at one meeting and then feign injury at the next meeting. I dont agree withe 28 day ban rule either - that just prolongs tethe absence of the rider to the paying public. An automatic hefty fine £££ would be more of a deterrent, which should increase for every meeting missed after the first return from injury.

Ah that worked... ill try again . Pooles Ford/Muddleditch surprised me by choosing steady Starke whos peedway carer has peaked, against the much liked and entertaining Fooord who surely is an improving rider . Maybe Ford didnt like the way Vincent splet his name ?

King's Lynn Stars 2025
old bob at herne bay replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
One has to question whether this compulsory "rising star" in the PL is actually a good thing ? Seems to me "rising stars" are just a bunch of riders that clubs are forced to track one per side. When they flop clubs are lumbered wiht having to pick another "rising star" replacement. All sounds like forcefeeding these youngsters into the PL whether they want to or not. The good ones would have probably got their chances anyhow. Does "rising star" status actually benefit anybody - other than theclubs who get a cheap number 7. ? -

At least the Poole fans have some excitement of close results this season . Kerrey and Starkey have both been around long enough to show why they are where they are in their speedway careers?. Seems the boy Cookie is missing his brother this season ? Both Foordie and Hagger have shown some form since leaving.
