Middlesbrough Tigers 2026
Islander15 replied to Fortythirtyeight's topic in National League Speedway
I’m pretty sure that Redcar are only using Mudgway because they need a heat leader to remain competitive. It’s not really through choice, but through necessity. -
1. Alfie Bowtell 9.41 (Bux) 2. Ollie Binns 2.00 (KL) 3. Ben Morley 8.40 (Leic) 4. Jake Mulford 8.74 (KL) 5. Ben Trigger 9.06 (Red) 6. Ben Whalley 2.00 (Ed) 7. Seth Norman 2.00 (Leic) Total: 41.59

It’s back! So build a team upto 42.00 points and the highest end of the season average wins! Only 2 riders from each club are allowed in your team. Averages can be found on the 2026 teams thread on here or hopefully soon on the BSPL site. Previous results were: 2025: 1st Marky_Mark, 2nd Szkocjasid & 3rd Millersfan444. 2024: 1st DJC, 2nd Dukes & 3rd PotteringAround. 2023: 1st Islander15, 2nd Adz_mft & 3rd Hawks1975. 2022: 1st Diamonds85, 2nd Sings4Speedway & 3rd PotteringAround. 2021: 1st Hawks1975, 2nd Islander15 & 3rd Iron Scorpion. 2019: 1st Iand, 2nd Flipper11 & 3rd DJC. 2018: 1st Hunters, 2nd SKJ & 3rd CUFC_Brummie. 2017: 1st Eagles69, 2nd Islander15 & 3rd SKJ. 2016: 1st Halifax Tiger, 2nd John Leslie, 3rd Turn Two. Good luck everyone

Yes I’ll open it now.

Whilst I totally understand where you’re coming from, different people use different social media platforms. So clubs need to use them all to make the biggest influence.
-
Are they? There’s not been a single tweet about this meeting and actually, not a single tweet by Buxton at all since early February.
-
Yes they must’ve taken Mulford’s British reduction off and then doubled it. But I don’t remember that happening previously.
-
Meadows has a bit of an awkward average. But at least he’s starting the season at reserve and Leicester are patient with riders, so he’ll get the time to practice and then hopefully improve.
-
Mulford averaged 4.37 for Redcar. So doubled equates to 8.74 🤷♂️
-
Has anyone else crunched the numbers? How is this team under the limit?
-
Simpson is an anomaly really on an extremely high average. Mainly due to him riding such few NL meetings, before not riding again last season. But fair play to KL for giving Simpson a team place. He’s clearly the type of rider the NL is designed for, but he must’ve been worried at that average.
-
Tbf the team needed a big hitter or two to come in just to be competitive against the rest of the league’s heat leaders.

3 very strong heat leaders and it’ll be interesting to see how Sadler gets on. -
Yep they’ve made a mess of it! And previously the British reduction wasn’t taken off before doubling. But now probably depends if that club needs an extra 0.20 or not 😂
-
Absolutely correct. The points limit is set far too high this season.
-
Mulford has missed a season so it should be his converted Championship average at 8.74. After 2 seasons in the Premiership, should the NL really be the place that Mulford has to fall back into?
-
He’s outgrown the NL now really. But with such a high points limit, it’s no surprise that Oxford wanted him back.

Mods, can this be pinned please?

Congratulations to Marky_Mark who is this year’s winner! His team was Scott, Simpson, Foord, McGurk, Hodder, Summers & Rushen. A few people got caught out by picking a rider who averaged lower for 1 club than another, like Rushen at KL compared to Leicester. However not picking Rushen at all was a huge mistake. Only 3 people picked Simpson who doubled his average and only 1 person picked Etherington who also doubled his average 1. Marky_Mark 60.86 2. Szkocjasid 57.03 3. Millersfan444 56.14 4. I’ll calculate this when the final averages are out, after the final fixtures on Wednesday.
