2025 World championship dates....OFFICIAL
Islander15 replied to andout's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Were the sprint races well attended by those at the GPs? It seems a novelty gimmick to me and not really worthy of standings points. If it’s genuine qualifying then that’s qualification for the main event or if it’s practice then the riders should be free to do as they please. Neither should be treated as actual competition with serious rewards at stake. -
Yes it will be back next season! And you didn’t need the midseason transfer in of Cairns haha.

Congratulations to DJC who is the 2024 winner!! He adds gold this year to bronze in 2019. The winning team was: Harrison 6.86 to 7.66, Trigger 6.34 to 8.71, A. Pijper 5.81 to 6.44, James 5.70 to 7.20, Wood 4.50 to 7.76, Crang 3.61 to 5.49 and Vale 3.00 to 6.17. 2 of the biggest improvers were Vale and Wood and DJC was the only person to pick them both, whilst Wood was picked by nobody else and Vale by only one other person. The most poplar picks to significantly improve were Scott and Foord. Vale was the most improved 3 pointer. However nobody picked Jason Garrad who was actually the biggest improver in the league! 1. DJC 49.43 2. Dukes 47.73 3. Pottering Around 47.27 4. Hawks 1975 46.77 5. North Yorks Bear 45.41 6. Islander15 44.61 7. RS50 43.92 8. Marky_Mark 42.88 9. Technik 42.40 10. Szkocjasid 42.31 11. Bluenose 42.25 12. Secsy1 38.39

Monarchs v Scorpions BSN 1st leg
Islander15 replied to scunny1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
When is the 2nd leg though? I notice the previously announced 6th September now has Scunny facing Poole in the KOC SF. Surely it can’t be the week after either with Edinburgh already hosting Scunny in the NL and actually hosting a double header that night. That’s far too many riders missing at Armadale to make that meeting viable. -
It will be interesting to see how Declan goes, and presumably this is a tester for next season with the Chargers.

The transfer window has closed I’m afraid hahah.

Oxford vs Scunthorpe/Sheffield 14th July 3pm
Islander15 replied to Anzum's topic in National League Speedway
Cairns really is as impressive as this level as we all thought he would be then. I wonder what his plan is. Only race 3 meetings this season to keep his 3.00 average for next season? Or mop up as many guest bookings as he can this season and move towards the Championship next season? -

I’m only 5-10 mins drive away and there were light showers earlier but it’s dry now. Dark clouds and light clouds around. -

Pretty standard stuff then. Do you know if they sell Inch’s cider like the grandstand do? Otherwise I’ll go in the pub prior if it’s only dodgy beer -

What are the catering facilities like on the back straight? Is it the same options as the grandstand? -

I caught up on both semis on Friday and they were very enjoyable! No shocks but the racing was good and particularly between the lesser nations who often had more evenly matched riders for a close battle. Fair play to the riders too, particularly on Wednesday, considering the conditions. Hopefully Zmarzlik is fit tonight as we all want to see the best in the world ride, but his tumble could play into GB’s hands. -
A thoroughly enjoyable meeting in dreadful conditions. Credit must go to all the lads out there for putting themselves on the line and still making a good go at it. Best wishes to Dan Thompson! Him and Flint were both looking impressive until coming to grief. Hagon had his moments and could’ve got a 7-2 in our final race. Unlucky not to get a medal. But most unjust of all was the ridiculous decision to throw Hellstrom-Bangs out! Sweden deserves gold. Everyone could all see it on the TV, apart from the ref.

When are these fixtures getting announced?

Disappointing tbh. In SON2 Latvia look like they’ll come last now and have also lost any chance of qualifying from the SON SF. -
But it isn’t the NDLRC, so Poole shouldn’t claim it is! Would you be happy attending a league fixture (with advertised line-ups) and winning 46-44 and going home thinking you’ve got 2 league points, only to find out actually it was a KOC fixture and only a 2 point win has knocked your team out? No of course not! We all enjoy watching racing, but it really does matter what we actually are watching!
-
The ones who are confused are the BSPL and Poole! Yes it appears that the name of Poole’s meeting is now being changed to make it sound like the Development Series and not the NLRC. But that’s not what they announced! How can the fans be expected to willingly attend a meeting and part their money when the authorities can’t even tell us conclusively what the meeting is for
-
Nope, Poole are advertising this as hosting the National League Riders Championships as a one off meeting as is usually the case. Leicester (and it appears Edinburgh too if their Caledonian Riders Champs is doubling as 2 competitions) are the only club(s) to announce rounds of the National League Development Series. Here is the link of dates (which only shows Leicester) https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2024-ndlrc-series/ Originally they said clubs who aren’t running a NL venture would have to have a round of the Series or run second halves, but it doesn’t seem like that is being made mandatory. Unless clubs are going to start announcing dates at short notice like Poole have.

What is street parking like around the stadium? Is there ample free parking? £10 is a rip off but I don’t want to get there and there’s nowhere to actually park. -
What day do Mildenhall want?
-
It’s disheartening to see the lack of interest in the NL these days. It’s come from dumbing down the league for years and years. Why would fans be as excited about an inferior product?
