  1. Nice to see Perry back after a disruptive year for him. He seems a nice guy with good potential and I’m sure he can push Trigger for that number 1 spot. A top heavy team, but lots of potential throughout the team. Headlined at the bottom end by Rushen but even Springer had a fantastic first year that kind of went unnoticed given how strong the Cubs team was overall.
  2. There’s been no official comment by KL on anything regarding their NT team so far.
  3. Yep rules should be consistent and follow precedents set like your Clifton example. Even this coming season, Edinburgh have got Palovaara back on a reduced average after a similar period of time away from British speedway. Yet Ritchings has been away from all speedway.
  4. So that clarifies that the >4.00 Championship average rule, does not apply to 2024 NL riders then. By averages only, that gives Kent the strongest top 2 in either NT or NL.
  5. Yes its a weaker league nowadays, but he's been out of competitive racing for so long that it'll be hard for him to get back into it immediately. I always found him fun to watch tbh.
  6. Nice to see Max James back and as captain. A strong top 2 for the Cubs.
  7. Darryl Ritchings feels like a blast from the past! I’ll be watching his results with interest.
  8. It’s not on the BSPL site or BV’s site.
  9. Morley is a very plausible example. He could even be signed in the Championship as a 28 day injury replacement! I’d like to think if he did get a Championship spot but then lost it, he’d be allowed back at Kent ‘in the interests of British Speedway’. However continuing to use Morley as an example, it’s harsh on the rider that replaced him at Kent to then lose his place himself. Or if Kent couldn’t get a rider of a similar ability, then it could affect their product by putting out a vastly inferior team with no number 1.
  10. The same thing happens every winter, in that fans pick up on a potential issue but it transpires the rule changed to permit it. I agree that there really is no need for secrecy.
  11. Yes that’s a good shout and Trigger does NT only with the Championship and not both 3rd tier competitions.
  12. I hadn’t noticed that announcement by Trigger. Are we expecting him to move elsewhere as surely he’s not ready for the Championship only?
  13. So the rules have changed then but they haven’t made it public…
  14. Which is what used to happen with the Trophy and the League. But they seem to want to run it as 2 separate but simultaneous competitions.
  15. Presumably clubs can’t compete in both as then there would become a rider clash. Presumably the NL will be the only form that will work towards averages and those points scored in the NT in effect won’t count towards any averages.
  16. So it is as expected! Hopefully Worrall can be a proper number 1 and compete when Howarth couldn’t. Reliability in the middle order trio returning in that you know they’ll all be brilliant most weeks at home but put in some stinkers away. Allen at number 5 away is going to struggle imo. Then that unfortunately puts some pressure on the bottom 3 to up their averages. Harrison is doing fantastically and deserves a season to get his bearings in the main body but tbh I won’t be surprised if he gets even better. Then the Kennedy’s could really do anything. Zaine showed potential when he was over here before and it’s a lot of new tracks for Declan, but at least they’ve got the comfort of being at reserve.
  17. That’s what you’d hope for from Declan then by being in the Championship and not NL. Zaine looked useful when he was here before but I wondered how much he’d ridden since his serious injuries. As I don’t regularly look at Australian results.
  18. Who is Zaine and Declan on par with over here then based on their results in Australia?
  19. Yes that’s why there’s a disclaimer at the top.
  20. Correct. A much better idea would be 8th immediately relegated and 7th in a play-off with the Extraleague 2’s 2nd place team.

  22. Were the sprint races well attended by those at the GPs? It seems a novelty gimmick to me and not really worthy of standings points. If it’s genuine qualifying then that’s qualification for the main event or if it’s practice then the riders should be free to do as they please. Neither should be treated as actual competition with serious rewards at stake.
  23. Yes it will be back next season! And you didn’t need the midseason transfer in of Cairns haha.
  24. Congratulations to DJC who is the 2024 winner!! He adds gold this year to bronze in 2019. The winning team was: Harrison 6.86 to 7.66, Trigger 6.34 to 8.71, A. Pijper 5.81 to 6.44, James 5.70 to 7.20, Wood 4.50 to 7.76, Crang 3.61 to 5.49 and Vale 3.00 to 6.17. 2 of the biggest improvers were Vale and Wood and DJC was the only person to pick them both, whilst Wood was picked by nobody else and Vale by only one other person. The most poplar picks to significantly improve were Scott and Foord. Vale was the most improved 3 pointer. However nobody picked Jason Garrad who was actually the biggest improver in the league! 1.
