  1. BSI/IMG have rights to any 'World" Pairs competition ...
  2. ZAGR will be pleased ... Auckland to Manchester SGP riders not scheduled to leave NZ until Monday the 7th ...
  3. MOST of the statements in the second paragraph are false. The staging fee (inscription) is actually paid to the FIM not the PZM and the meeting is being promoted by BSI themselves rather than the Polonia club.
  4. YOU'VE cracked the code ... coconut on its way!
  5. YOU weren't the only one ... me included! AN error ... and no Xtra doesn't include the SS content.
  6. AFRAID the wheels are still grinding very slowly ... but they are grinding. Sadly, council procedures and red tape have to be tolerated but the rest of the pieces of the jigsaw, including finance, are all in place. Once the light turn green progress should be quite rapid.
  7. GETTING back to the original theme ... think there will be an official announcement next week. First meeting likely to be April 7.
  8. AGREE but think it was hard to rebuff riders whose commercial options are fairly limited.
  9. I IMAGINE the reason why the riders feel so strongly about it concerns personal merchandise...
  10. UNDERSTAND what you are saying but think his overall record and contribution to the SGP for so many years deserves some recognition, especially after his crash at the Friends Arena. Incidentally, re Bydgoszcz tickets ... looks like on sale date will be around January 31
  11. WILL enquire but I doubt whether it will go back to 19.00. More likely to stay at 18.00...
  12. BROCHURE consisted of 24 pages ... additional pages in SS that week? 24...
  13. WOULD be the wise and logical choice ... doubt whether he wants his last GP race to be one where he was dumped on the track in Stockholm
  14. I AM sure there will be an announcement re Bydgoszcz tickets... I will certainly post here as and when.
  15. ARE you going to step forward? Think a million down is wrong by a large margin.
  16. WHY do you assume that they (Go Speed/Terry Russell) made a "hash" of any negotiations outside of Sky. There is no actual evidence that any TV company other than Sky were remotely interested in screening domestic British speedway. If, as rumoured, TR has secured a deal along the same lines as the previous Sky contract, then the BSPA should be taking their collective hats off to him. There is no doubt that late last season Sky were not interested in renewing their speedway deal. Their change of heart is probably in no small part due to the challenge of BT Sport. In the grand scheme of things British speedway isn't that significant but Sky was perceived to be on a losing streak as far as sporting events was concerned and even retaining speedway was seen as a plus.
  17. RIDERS in the SGP this year will be able to choose their own number to go on their race-jackets... something many of them and particularly Greg Hancock have been campaigning for. Hancock will wear 45, Iversen has chosen 88. But Tai Woffinden has resisted 108 and decided that he will stick with the number he would have had anyway. Good choice, what better than 1.
  18. BUT as no one knows how can be either trumpeted or ridiculed?
  19. WHY is it diabolical when you don't even know its terms as yet...
  20. SPEEDWAY STAR Xtra will be available online (via speedwaystar.net) again this week and will include stats from Track Reviews published in Speedway Star in recent weeks...
  21. BRIGGO once talked to his mate Bernie Eccelstone about getting involved with British speedway. He had one criteria ... own all the stadiums and all the teams. Nothing less than total control. Bernie is an admitted advocate of dictatorship rather than democracy but, not surprisingly, he couldn't quite see a profit at the end of the tunnel.
  22. SHOULD be on sale in a couple of weeks. Have also asked about postage ... they are investigating.
