  1. THEY are available as a download from speedwaystar Xtra...
  2. And maybe the FA and FIFA should raise and train all their own players and not use ones from Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid, etc...
  3. MY understanding is that the heats involving NL riders will be "protected" which presumably means they will only race against each other...
  4. TERRY Russell cannot set the agenda for negotiations with Sky... they do. Trust me, he has been knocking on the door for months but nobody was answering until very recently.
  5. FRIENDS ARENA in Stockholm a dump? Western Springs a dump? Prague, Vojens, Malilla all dumps? PolskiZuzel ... is this the latest incarnation of our resident juvenile delinquent?
  6. AND, as Jason Crump and Tony Rickardsson pointed out, produce a World Championship series worthy of the name. Some riders might just be in it for the money but those two, and many more, now look back on their careers which included racing at places like Cardiff and Copenhagen. It was something Rickardsson spoke about at the Stockholm event this year ... it's has come a long way since GPs were held at Linkoping.
  7. WELL, as Tai has only just started his Monster deal that much is true. But from what I hear, and it is no more than that, Red Bull don't pour much money into speedway although there are fringe benefits as Jason Crump experienced when he was injured although that may have had more to do with his friendship with Mark Webber.
  8. VERY much doubt that Red Bull sponsorship of Sayfutdinov dwarfs that of Woffinden and Monster. The FIM have got themselves into a right pickle over this. However, presumably they didn't just charge straight in and consulted their own lawyers first to establish whether or not they were on sound ground. As usual it will only be the legal guys making money out of this sorry saga. Sooner or later there will have to be a compromise ... let's hope it is the former.
  9. NOT sure I have given them endless pats on the back and I am not really in the loop either. But I do know that this whole process has had to go through so many hoops and that it has to be taken stage by stage. I am sure many would have walked away by now so, yes, one pat on the back for messrs Gordon and Morton for sticking by a complex project, that just doesn't involve a speedway stadium, and one that will be a great asset for the sport once it is completed however long it takes. And why not, just for a second, imagine how frustrating this must be for G&M who have spent countless hours working on a dream that has yet to become a reality. It cannot have been much fun for them, throwing more and more money down the drain at the dreadful greyhound stadium when they could and should have already been living that dream.
  10. WE will revisit this post and accept your profound apology in just a few weeks. Sure, things have and still are moving slowly but that is the way bureaucracy works. This project doesn't just include a speedway stadium but a lot more. It will happen...
  11. AND those channels are? And what has it to do with the SCB?
  12. INTERESTING piece on BT Sport's ambitions here ... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/10440065/Now-BT-plots-major-raid-on-summer-sports.html Judging by this, Sky had better hang on to speedway ... it might be all they have left!
  13. CANNOT early blame Sky for how the money has been frittered away or that British speedway hasn't made the most of its TV exposure.
  14. 1... WE are working on it and will hopefully be able to offer a package for a small increase in the price 2... You can trial it on line 3... Yes, although from time to time we might add a couple of extra pages to the online edition, which isn't possible with the printed edition.
  15. ONLINE price is £2.15 per issue as against the cover price of £2.90 (from Dec 7) ...
  16. SPEEDWAY STAR is now available by subscription online through your web browser, on an iPhone or iPad or any Android device... and for the same price no matter where you are in the world. The latest online editions will be available each Thursday morning (UK time) other than over the Christmas holiday period when the dates will vary. See speedwaystar.net during that time for more details. If you wish to renew your subscription for the online edition rather than have the printed one mailed to you, go to: www.exacteditions.com/speedwaystar Please note the App version for the iPhone and iPad will not be available from the iTunes store until Thursday, December 5th. Prices for the online editions represent huge savings for those subscribers living outside of the United Kingdom. You will pay the same price (£28 for 13 weeks, £112 for 52 weeks) whether you reside in Australia, Europe, New Zealand or North America.
  17. IT would be inconceivable not to have a GP in Denmark and Vojens only returned when Copenhagen was originally off the 2014 calendar. Five Polish tracks were in the market for a GP next year, which is pretty high percentage. I don't think the current dispute has anything to do with the old UEM, rather the new concept with people like Frank Zeigler and Wolfgang Glas tending to carry out their own agenda and some of the Polish officials happy to tag along. OneSport actually wanted to increase the number of SEC rounds to eight in 2014 and that might well have been the straw that broke the camel's back at the FIM.
  18. THE CCP Director has much more autonomy and power than the old President of the CCP ... Armando Castagna has a fine racing background, remains passionate about speedway and has a lot of very good ideas. Whether he sinks or swims remains to be seen. Certainly cannot see a countries like Sweden and Denmark, through SVEMO and the DMU, for example not respecting the authority of the FIM.
