NOT sure. Think they (Jacob Olsen) still want it but more problematic than Prague. -

MOST likely there will be eight SGPs this year, maybe all double-headers (over two nights). Prague still a possibility. -

Due to ongoing global health concerns and crowd restrictions in Russia and Germany in light of COVID-19, we regret to announce that the 2020 Russian FIM Speedway Grand Prix and 2020 Aztorin German FIM Speedway Grand Prix have been cancelled. The events were scheduled to take place at Anatoly Stepanov Stadium on August 29 and Teterow’s Bergring Arena later this year respectively. The decisions were made after careful consideration and consultation with the FIM, BSI Speedway and the local venues, as well as MFR in Russia and DMSB in Germany, with the health and safety of supporters, riders and staff remaining the top priority. Following discussions with the Anatoly Stepanov Stadium and Bergring Arena, we are pleased to announce that both the Russian FIM Speedway Grand Prix and the Aztorin German FIM Speedway Grand Prix will return in 2021. The Aztorin German FIM Speedway Grand Prix will take place on Saturday, May 22, while the Russian FIM Speedway Grand Prix’s timing will be announced at a later date. Paul Bellamy, Managing Director & SVP of Motorsports at IMG said: “We are disappointed to be cancelling two of our most popular events, but we look forward to sharing more detail in the coming weeks about the 2020 World Championship contingency plan we’re developing with the FIM, involving a minimum of eight FIM Speedway Grand Prix events. In the meantime, we thank our fans for their continued support of the series, and we look forward to returning to Russia and Germany in 2021.” -
Wrocław 2020 GP tickets

JUST speculating ...if the Polish authorities increase crowd capacity to 50% and Wroclaw stage a SGP double-header they could offer an alternative to all those who have purchased tickets. -

NOT a good weekend for three of the four Belle Vue riders in Poland -
MAURICE was never far away from Wally Mawdsley

WE have been informed by RM that there have been some problems with B postcodes. Whether they will do anything about it is another matter

LAGUTA on fire again but admittedly the opposition was poor. -
IF you haven't received a subscription copy by Monday morning please call Dave on 0208-335 1113 and he will mail one from Surbiton. We are trying to make enquiries about why your postcode is consistently delayed.

DON'T think any of them are driving away from the stadium with their car boot stacked to the gills with cash... which used to happen in the halcyon days of the sport.

Are any of them making any money? Huge backers?

A precedent has been set with the European Championship... a series with only Polish riders would certainly not constitute a World Championship. -

500 people in Prague wouldn't pay any bills, much less the TV costs, and would require riders to leave Poland which, even without quarantine restrictions, would not go down well with a possible league match the previous Friday or following Sunday. Much of the above also applies to Vojens. Despite probable FIM protestations, a mini-series of eight rounds in Poland still seems the most likely and practical solution. Hopefully, followed by the SON in Manchester. -
CURRENTLY, who do you think that might be?

WHERE would the other two be? Not what I'm hearing. Makes logistical sense to stay in Poland. Not just the riders but officials, TV etc. and the only country where there might be an audience, albeit limited. -
AT least it stopped him singing

THERE does appear to be an improvement, although have to say that we estimate over 90 per cent of subs are being delivered Thursday/Friday. Just need to sort kitten2502 out!

PERSONALLY, have found it preferable to record and fast forward through the interminable breaks later. Not bothered whether I know the result live, later that day or the next day. Can still enjoy the actual racing.
