my thoughts are with Rickys family, I am a Plymouth fan but can understand the anguish everyone close to Ricky is goung through at the moment. These lads risk life and limb for the love of the sport and to rread that some moron shouted it serves him right beggars belief. let me put a few things staright. Thee new chairman did introduce himself and spoke at length about the many organisations he is involved in, whether anyone else wanted to be chairman and even told us how ill he is! The agenda was followed re election of officers and the committee, all of which had stated their interest before the meeting commenced. We even have people who have come forward regarding the running of the track shop and these are experienced speedway people with the expertise and many contacts re merchandise etc. Another person has come forward and wants to be responsible for the running of the junior section of devils supporters and this will be ll discussed at our first committee meeting next week. The 50/50 draw will be run by us again as we did in the first 5 years with a definite 50/50 split as it was before. The only reason we stopped doing this was because the promoter wanted a cut and we weren't prepared to sell the tickets on that basis. It is not compulsory to join the supporters club, but pelase don't post negative comments on here because we are all doing our best and we know we have a mountain to climb and if you thought we were dong things wrong why didn't you speak up at the actual meeting when Bernard asked for any questions and also said anyone who has any queries please address him and he will try and answer them We will carry on and do our best for the riders which is after all what the supporters club is all about

well I have heard that Bowden is applying to go National League, he has to find riders and staff first including a team manager, dont think the supporters will be behind this but that wont bother the great one!

No doubt the facts will be disputed by a certain person, but facts are facts No she lives in her own little bubble and everyone around her is telling lies, one day she will wake up and smell the coffee! On a more serious note would have thought that a one year lease is a no brainer, not enough time to sort anything out down there and as the paper says there wouldnt be enough time to recoup the licence money etc let alone doing anything to all the delapitated infra strucure. Fingers crossed the college will sell to the consortium for a reasonable price and we can look forward and get back the severel hundred supporters that wont come back again while the present promotion has anything to do with it

and the supermarket in question is different to the one that is bidding for the old bowling site dah brain cells in use to realise there is more than one supermarket chain and of course they could build at SBA if sufficient land drainage was put in (something that was offered to your Dad at the cost of a coupole of hundred pound but he declined the offer)

well I am absolutely gob smacked by your post. As an OAP that takes his grandchildren every Friday we are absolutely appaled by the antics going on at SBA. To see the grandson fighting with his grandad (Bowden) and mnissing him but actually punching his mother was not a pleasant sight to witness and yes it all went on in full view of us and not for the first time. Police have been called twice that I know of and itsnot to do with any supporters fighting its all about the family fighting.I even had to explain why Bowden had a grilfriend serving in the bar while his wife was taking the money on the gate. who in their right mind would allow that to happen! The language from 3 of the daughters and grandson has to be heard to be beleived and I decided that time has come to stop going or at least to stop taking my grandsons which is a shame because they loved the sport. Roll on a take over and maybe I will re-consider going with them again

ah but there we have it as Bowden is not the property owner, the local college own the land and Bowden leases it and a clause in his lease states that he must return the land to its former appearance when he finishes with it so all in all he has to do it if he doeasnt want anyone to play his game any more

Babs get real, if we consulted a solicitor every time your Father did or said something degoratory against us speedway fans we would need a whole team of them. You might be happy to watch the family fighting amongst themselves on a Friday night and your Father canoodling with his girlfriend while his wife and daughters are there acceptable but I fortunately do not,it comes to something when the fans are more excited about the girlfriend and her husband being taken away in a police car for their own safety than the actual riding. It is admirable for you to stick up for your Father but I think your loyalty is sadly misplaced and thats why the fans are staying away in their droves Yes Bowden did bring speedway back to Plymouth but I think you can also say that Bowden destroyed speedway back at Plymouth, and please dont bother paying for a solicitor for anything I have posted here because these are all facts which can be admirably backed up!.

Please say that Xmas has come early for hundreds of fans who have now stopped going and unwilling to put any more money into this money grabbing mans hands. His antiucs and those ofhis family leave a lot to be desired resulting in police being called to them and I am unwilling to let my sons be part of this sorry spectacle any more or having to hear the vile mouth tirade comning from the Bowden daughters and wife, we couldnt even escape it when we visited Somerset cos Bowden was there canoodling with his girlfriend!

yay best news ever, he might have single handledly started it up (very questionable!) but he has single handledly seen the demise of it. Good luck to the new consortium and good riddance all the Bowdens

the reporter is probably a member of the Bowden family cos the family do everything else like daughters and wife take the money at the gates, another daughter and partner run the track shop, grandson sell the candy floss and toffee apples,girlfriend runs the bar anything left to do Bowden himself does it!!!
