BSPA Message to Fans (imo)
wealdstone replied to wealdstone's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
When will fans realise that once they have paid their money they serve no useful purpose -
A statement from the bosses could put an end to the matter
-
I have never had such a feeling of foreboding regarding Speedway in general and Panthers in particular as I have at the moment.

BSPA Message to Fans (imo)
wealdstone replied to wealdstone's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The BSPA would like it to be known that the late cancellation of their "piss up in a brewery " was entirely unforeseen and beyond their control . A spokesman said " how on earth could we have been expected to know the brewery had closed several years ago, you would have thought someone might have told us" We would like to assure fans that the necessary increase in admission charges to defray our loss will be kept to a minimum. -
This move more likely to be IMO due to non involvement of Lambert family

I spoke to Neil Watson on Friday night who assured me that he and Ged were still the promoters. I cant see that he would lie to me on this matter. y

Whilst it is evident that Stock Cars and the like are far more successful spectator wise than Speedway , personally I have never been able to see the reason

Rob Godfrey interview in Speedway Star
wealdstone replied to iwright71's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Anybody who thought anything that the Mafia did not like was driven out. -
Only went once to the stadium to watch Provincial League riders championship in the early sixties won I believe by Trevor Redmond. Recall also Harringay Arena which was at one time the main boxing venue. Saw Ice Hockey and circuses there and went to the Ice Hockey school on occasions . My late father always claimed the Arena as built as replica of Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto.

Sure you will soon know
-
I think you will find you are mistaken re Ged and Neil.
-
I fear we will not hear from Ged or Neil again. It is almost unbelievable the total disregard for the paying public shown by the Mafia and the seeming contempt in which we are regarded.
-
As secrecy is the watchword we shall never know
-
As I say each to his own.
-
Difficult to see how he could done a better job in alienating an already shrinking fan base
-
Each to his own

Unfortunately for whatever reason Scott Nicholls is one of those British riders who never fulfilled their potential
-
You have failed to look further into the site

Pratt and Buster are long term pals and I believe grew up in the same area. I can forsee Carl Johnson becoming surplus to requirements though
-
I have no problem with Colin Pratt but we seem immersed in a mire of deceit and subterfuge
-
Just cough up your cash and stop whingeing. Pay by direct debit and don't bother to turn up if all you can do is moan

Your memories of Americans in British League (1970-90)
wealdstone replied to TonyMac's topic in Years Gone By
I remember Steve Bast at Wembley, never got to grips with things. Did not even have his own equipment and rode the track spare all the time he was here -
Alternatively bite the hand so in future it is unable to grab you by the balls
-
Never worried about the event, just the way it was done

Do not think it would have happened under Horton unliked as he is. Buster it would appear has undermined the authority of those in charge
