  1. When you've been to a public school and its on your CV. The old boys network kicks and you end up with a nice little number for the rest of your life!!
  2. He broke his leg when he hit a drain lid in the second half of a league meeting at Hyde Road. It was a week before the world final. Even if he did have a league meeting that week. I'm sure no one would have blamed him for missing the meeting with a broken leg!. What I was trying to say, Riders were very much more of club men back then. They didn't ride in Sweden on a Tuesday and Poland on a Sunday. Yes they rode long track meetings in Germany and such, but they were individual meetings, so for the likes of PC and Mort, the Aces was their club. Yes the Aces are Bewley's and Kurtz's club, but they also have a Polish club and a Swedish club and as such their loyalties are split. No doubt the highest payers will always come first and thats not Belle Vue!
  3. Fair play, but I don't think Belle Vue fans from back in the day would have been so generous if PC and Mort had decided not to bother in a cup final. PC if i remember correctly came second in the 77 world final with a broken leg in Sweden in far worse conditions than tonight.
  4. I don't think you can get a yardstick on King's riding tonight against a very poor Belle Vue team. Yes you can only beat whats in front of you, but it will be a different kettle of fish against Sheffield or Leicester.
  5. Once again Lemon Favouring the young Aussie over Mulford. He got a good 2nd there, considering he hadn't not ridden since heat 2.
  6. Good question, but by looking at the way he rides. I would say he wouldn't be popping around at the back. like some!
  7. Does Tatum really think the tie is still up for grabs? or is he just saying that? He does talk a lot of old bol*oc*s on a regular basis though. "Goodness Gracious Me" The public schoolboy coming out in him there!!!
  8. i think he wants Peter Schroecks title as manager of the year!!!!
  9. The only problem with that. It doesn't matter how professional they are if they are riding in front of just a couple of hundred people. You could say some of these riders live in a Fantasy world. You have riders of junior standard turning up with big flash vans all the gear. If it means going back to having one bike in the boot of the car, then maybe you will get youngsters who can afford to do the sport like it use to be. Rather than having rich Mums and Dads to rely on. Having said all of that. Speedway unfortunately is a dying sport. It's been on life support for a while now. Speedway was of a different time back in it's heyday. Demographics have changed. No London clubs. No midland clubs bar Leicester. It's sad but it's reality.
  10. He has been been one of the better RS's imo and has the third highest average behind Flint and Jenkins.
  11. A lot of said riders will be stacking shelves at Tescos soon if they are not to carful !!
  12. I think he got thrown a lifeline tonight. Fricke scored 11pts in the meeting to Lamberts 3pts, but a bit of bad luck for Fricke in the semi final, ment he only ended up with 7pts. So it's all to ride for in Vojens
  13. At the end of the day I and a lot of people on here hate this scoring system, but everybody knew at the start of the season. So if it does come down to the one point that Zmarzlik scored in the sprints and it's the difference between one of them coming world champion, then thats the rules.
  14. Zmarzlik has scored 10 pts in the sprints to Kurtz's 9 so only 1 point gained
  15. There has been plenty of those scenarios this season. Absolute joke of a sport. Even in the final, we had the two top riders on 15 and 13. the other two on 8 and 7 and Fricke sat in the pits watching on 11pts! Surely they have to have a good look and realised they gone it wrong and while they are at it, stop Morris from fu**ing up the track at every GP!!
  16. Zmarzlik threw that away. As proved by choosing Gate four. All he had to do was be on the inside of Kurtz at the start. A win was not necessary. All he had to do was do what he did in heat 19.
  17. Fricke has rode his balls off all night. Scores 11 pts, but ends up with 7. So goes into the last GP only a couple ahead of Lambert. Lambert can count himself lucky that he still has a chance.
  18. Are we going to get a statement from the FIM saying that due to the incompetence of Phil Morris at the 2025 Wroclaw GP. He has had his licence taken away for the betterment of the sport?
  19. How can Morris make Wroclaw a one line race track? Every Sunday you generally see superb racing. This clown gets into town and F**ks it right up
  20. So if the ref gave Kurtz a warning. Why did he not pull it back. Bit unfair on the other two riders?
  21. It seems nearly every meeting, Schroek has the opportunity to use Killeen but doesn't. Jenkins was an obvious candidate to be replaced in heat 9, but not old Schroek! Two reserves score 8 and 7+1 nether get an extra ride!!!!
  22. Lowest No 5 Averaged rider in the league. Oxfords 2nd heat leader with an average of 5.04. Yet Schroeck for the life of me usually gives him his 4 rides. Yesterday at Glasgow he scored 2 pts in his 1st ride. Then had 3 lasts yet he still got 4 rides!! Today was a prime example. He scored 5 from 4 rides yet Schroeck puts him in heat 15 ahead of Luke Killeen 11-1, Mitch McDiarmid 8 and Jorden Jenkins 7-1. Schroeck really is the biggest clown in the sport. How do people employ him?
