I'm not too fussed whether you're having it or not. The fact of the matter is, you can't expect your top two riders to get you out of jail all the time. Speedway teams have seven riders for a reason; if the other five are not performing, surely it's not down to your top two to get you over the line week in, week out. Yes, it was unfortunate that Howarth decided to call it a day, but Zischke wasn't a bad replacement and the Plymouth lad done ok as well in said meeting. Good job they did!! Or tomorrow's meeting would be a foregone conclusion.

It just shows how strong Poole are, Edwards would be 5th in their averages!! The only other club where he would be classed as a heat leader would be at Scunthorpe!

I think you're being a bit unkind; if it wasn't for those two, you wouldn't have had a sniff of being in the playoffs. Your finger should be pointing at the three riders with averages under 4. The 2 x British U21 champion was hailed as a huge winter signing for the Tigers. Has been none existent at No2. Hausel was signed off the back of two good meetings, as for Hodder, he is now in his third full season in the championship, imo should be scoring a lot better than he is. All three owe the Tigers a big meeting. Scunthorpe are not the strongest away from home, and are definitely there for the taking.

Have to agree. Even when the final was at Poole, it knocked spots off this. If it don't improve, it will go down as the most lacklustre world cup final in many of year

Why would Poland accept the world final, then go and have it on a man-made track? It must be down to money, because they certainly ain't going to win this meeting.

It might be their own house, but certainly isn't a Polish track. Which is good for the neutral. You wouldn't see Wright, Flint and Ellis score any pts on a big, flat-out normal Polish track. This is a tiddler, like Cardiff, so it evens itself out. We have an outside chance of a medal, going by the first four heats.

It shows how weak the league has become. Year upon year, 2nd strings become heat leaders, reserves become 2nd strings, and 3rd division riders become reserves in the 2nd. And next season will be the same. Everything watered down, except the admission prices!

Having just been on the Glasgow thread, it seems me saying Edinburgh could be your opponent, was wrong. 2nd and 3rd play each other, which means likely you'll have Scunthorpe, which I imagine will be a tougher draw.

You've been unlucky, with Howarth pulling out. You had a trio of heat leaders who, imo, were a match for anyone. Now that you have had to rely on guests, it has put the rest of the team under the cosh, and quite frankly, they haven't been up to the job. Juhl Pedersen has been a disappointment; Hagon and Hausl have been a disaster. Hodder has improved a little. Yet you still Finished second! So its not all been a complete failure. As you say, ( you've limped over line), but on Edinburgh's showing at Scunthorpe tonight, that must give you hope of making the final. Thats of course if you go on and meet the Monarchs in the semi-final

Yes, it seems, looking at the updates, Battye won his 1st. He was leading till the last bend in his 2nd ride, another 2nd in h8, so you would have thought he would have taken Hodder's ride in h12. Very strange decision by Brown.
