Sheffield Vs Scunthorpe Lc 26/03/2015

Definitely with you Duffy on this; we need not beat ourselves up too much about last night. Sure we want to be spot on mechanically; off the starts etc.. but its competitive time on the track that's key for me; and only then do the gremlins; rustiness etc.. come out. I am with Rob; I don't have us down to take the League Cup its time for things to come together and we then attack the League. There were positives in there; Wilko had right old go at it; Josh looked hungry enough for it; Theo threw in a win and second. Nike should have had more than 1pt !; Boom ! that's two air bags already - he's going to be real entertainer, and Ellis; he'll be competitive make no mistake once he dials in.. Alex back after a year off; and David with a few gremlins in the tank struggled a bit but no worries - everyone got home safe.. It was always going to be harder at Owlerton than last season;minus Ryan;Tommy Gun and Birko who usually go well there. We go again at the EWR a week Monday. Back the team; exciting times ahead -

All I'm saying is if I were Tigger's I would not take too much for granted on Thursday. Stead was in real form on Sunday; but if the Scorps get about the rest of the Tigers line up; there's points to be had. It is bit unpredictable with Lunna and Perks making their team debuts. I think Alex Davies could be a surprise, and Josh knows the way around Owlerton. If Howie; Wilko and Pjiper chip in; then I am optimistic for a good start I really am. -
I am certain that everything is being done that can be done with regard to Ricky's rehabilitation and progress will be made. However a couple of things come to mind. Soldier Ben Parkinson severely injured in Afghanistan underwent Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy at Castle Craig Scotland. I was amazed by the change in him when he was featured on TV following the therapy and it makes me wonder if such therapy may be of benefit to Ricky and others who have suffered similar traumatic injuries. Certainly Bens speech has improved and his whole body appears stronger and more controlled. Secondly; we all want to help by supporting Ricky's Big Day; another thought I had was; had anyone thought of approaching BBC DIY SOS the Big Build TV Show; Nick Knowles and the team are always supporting great causes and human interest stories. Ricky's story is definitely one that I believe they would cover and this would be a way of seeing through the work on the family home to make life more comfortable and easier for Ricky and family through his rehabilitation and going forward. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006pnjk As I say: I am sure everything is on the table and being considered; and I am no medical expert. But certainly Bens situation appeared to me to have improved considerably post therapy. And surely; in terms of the TV Show; Ricky's story and his cause is one definitely worth telling and supporting. All the best and lets get out in force on Sunday ...wear your club colours by the way.

Hey up NBT am useless; even repeating myself. Marked it error and post is below. Here's gist of it NBT all sounds positive stuff. Nike Lunna theme tune needs to be Fun Boy Three. "Lunatics Have Taken Over the Asylum" love it or hate it - its a gift that. You could give him INXS New Sensation which I had down for Perko. But Ellis clearly has his tune sorted "Gimme Some Lovin"- Steve Winwood definitely go with that its a cracking tune. Got stuff on my IPod that is bang on for Speedway ..how about Go Go Go by Status Quo ? ..everyone will have their ideas even the riders themselves so not saying I am the guru on this. Happy to pitch my ideas to Bazza int box!. Alan and Bob Ham were always enthusiastic for giving the riders a theme to identify them to the crowd; and it went down well at Odsal at the time. We should not be afraid of pumping up the volume a bit and choreographing race night. Having said I would come over for the practice; we not going to make it; but will look at the Facebook page and perhaps the management can pick up from there. #iITS NEARLY HERE!

Anyone had problems with the FSL 2015 site ?. Although I have been debited with the cost of my team; seems that all I get when I logon is an error message; suggesting my team will not be included because of the error?. Tried e-mailing them at admin@fantasy-speedway.com but no one ever gets back; and the Site Forum seems defunct. So anyone else noticed any problems?. http://www.fantasy-speedway.com/

No worries Glasgee fans; quite welcome on the Scorps thread anytime; it is easy to see how valued Theo is up there.
-
Think the magic bit was he still available Gaz. Relible we need and Theo would seem to tick that box.
-
I might argue riding out of positions 2-4 in a team; are some of the harder points to come by ? so that 5.63 looks good value to me. In the final analysis Theo posted an identical average to Tommy Gun = 7.09. We cannot say; oh well we would rather have TG on that average; its not an option. In the circumstances to pick up an experienced; well equipped No1 rider; that we can tuck in the second string. at this late stage is a "trick" even Dynamo might struggle with. So well done Rob and team.

Clearly well respected and thought of at Glasgow. Any doubters out there best get on board now. Theos Glasgows No1! He does score points most tracks hes a great signing by the club. Lets get right behind this exciting Scorpions 2015 team!.
-
This is bloody superb!. If you werent fired up for the new season you will be when you've seen this. Some great tunes as well!!!! Ladies & Gentlemen & Kids ...ELLIS PERKS! Gimme Some Lovin by Spencer Davis Group ! Might have to add that one to the Scorps 2015 sound track Baz. Perksy might prefer that to my INXS suggestion? Crackin track. Ellis has got Your Needs Covered! I like it ! Quality

If You Could Bring Back One Rider...
thebaron replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
What a Brilliant Question ! KENNY ! ...Kenny Carter was without doubt the biggest box office draw British Speedway racer of the "modern era". If there was no news he made it; and when there was news he was it ! He was like a cocky boxer always spoiling for a fight; always pushing the limits and boundaries. But a brilliant and brave rider; just watch his track craft and his bludgeoning determination to win. I don't think there was ever a time when Kenny was out of the race he was always going for it. Well; maybe there was; and it was during the British Semi Final at Odsal three days before the tragic events of 21 May 1986. The media loved him; wanted to be around him and that reflected back in added interest in our sport in general. I am just watching documentaries on Road Racing legends Barry Sheene and Mike Hailwood; Kenny Carter is up there with them an icon of his time and of his sport. My all time hero is Gary Peterson; I would love to bring Gary back; would love to see how good he could have been. So I acknowledge Gary here too. But for the good of British Speedway it has to be KENNY!. But what a great question Tony. All the best Ray Allen Bradford -
You'll be OK; your nicely set up. But we got The Pjiper.
-
In the lyrics ....." Sub Lunna Saltamus" - bloody hell that's just plain meant to be! aarrrgh !!!! Ryan for cripes sake. Still got to get on and get fit; price of being a racer play time or not. Sorry TT; I should know this maybe; but which team do you wish he had signed for?
-
Sound Track for the Scorpions 2015; we need an extra tune! You might like this one; for our New Flying Dutchman: ABBA - The Pjiper! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFrGTtZKA_I Very Nordic ! Enjoy.

T; you know what I think your spot on; he does say that; listened to him back again and he does emphasise the Go. He was inferring "look when you go (wherever this maybe) take your God with you; don't force it/him on me or us. Never a truer word; and if Dave Allen was here today he would be cutting through all the religious fanaticism rammed in our faces everyday. -
Gutted for Ryan; but we need to protect our prize asset and bringing him back too soon; from what sounds a serious injury could hurt us in the long run. Very pleased that Alex Davies looks to be over the line; because he can be a big rider for the Scorpions this year in my view. But Rob's a magician pulling this rabbit out the bag at the last minute. Theo Pjiper was Glasgow's No1 last season (7.09 CMA). He appeared to come into form at the back end of the season. Posting good returns at Newcastle, Edinburgh, P'Boro, Berwick; infact decent on most tracks; but 4 at Scunny early 2014. We'll work on that. Thing is he is a vastly experienced rider at this level; knows the tracks and the set ups and he can be a valuable addition. So well done to the Management for acting in the best interests of everyone. Ryan is too valuable to us to run the risk of him riding while unfit; messing his average up and then the authorities making out that he doesn't meet "criteria". No; this is a common sense move by the Management and a good call. Glasgow v Newcastle 28/9/2014 5 Newcastle v Glasgow 15/9/2014 11 Glasgow v Edinburgh 14/9/2014 14 Edinburgh v Glasgow 12/9/2014 9 Peterborough v Glasgow 9/9/2014 9 Glasgow v Workington 7/9/2014 10 Workington v Glasgow 6/9/2014 5 Glasgow v Rye House 31/8/2014 18 Newcastle v Glasgow 25/8/2014 7 Glasgow v Newcastle 24/8/2014 10 Workington v Glasgow 22/8/2014 8 Glasgow v Scunthorpe 4/8/2014 12 Berwick v Glasgow 2/8/2014 14 Glasgow v Berwick 27/7/2014 10 Glasgow v Sheffield 20/7/2014 11 Plymouth v Glasgow 18/7/2014 8 Ipswich v Glasgow 17/7/2014 6 Glasgow v Edinburgh 6/7/2014 7 Glasgow v Plymouth 29/6/2014 11 Glasgow v Ipswich 22/6/2014 13 Rye House v Glasgow 21/6/2014 6 Somerset v Glasgow 20/6/2014 8 Glasgow v Rye House 15/6/2014 10 Rye House v Glasgow 14/6/2014 5 Sheffield v Glasgow 5/6/2014 6 Edinburgh v Glasgow 30/5/2014 3 Glasgow v Workington 18/5/2014 8 Scunthorpe v Glasgow 16/5/2014 4 Glasgow v Redcar 4/5/2014 11 Glasgow v Peterborough 27/4/2014 7 Redcar v Glasgow 24/4/2014 5 Glasgow v Edinburgh 20/4/2014 7 Edinburgh v Glasgow 18/4/2014 14 Berwick v Glasgow 12/4/2014 7 Workington Glasgow 29/3/2014 4 The addition of Theo might actually add to the strength; I see Alex Davies and Theo Pjiper as the core element of the team. Then we see how things go with Ryan's injury and come June we may have a decision to make. But welcome Theo to the EWR; still very much an exciting 1-7 and very much looking forward to the season that is coming right around the corner up ahead! Cheers.

T- Agreed! on everything but the Aussie/US bit; you will never ever get me to say NO to the great guys who entertain and have entertained me over 40years. For me its "open an door" to anyone who wants to slide sideways on a speedway bike. I'm a Speedway Fundamentalist that's my problem. -
tmc; thank you for that; my pleasure; and a really enjoyable read front to back, the Bob Kilby and Brian Foote missives also great reads. Thanks Backtrack.

What centuary am I in? Same centuary that celebrated the 2014 Commonwealth Games or was that just Scotch Mist? Religion am I intolerant,Sure as hell am if it involves wacko cults blowing folk up; crashing planes into buildings; public beheadings;and slaughtering a British soldier in public on Woolwich High St. Yeah I am pretty intolerant of that sort of Religion. Dave Allen always put Religion in the right context and I am with him on it. May your God go with you. Back to the Aussies/Yanks personally dont class them as immigrants theyre us! I have relatives in US never set foot in the UK; but our blood line should trump any other foreigner trying to sneak through Jihadi central. Why you might not get that God only knows.
