  1. "Leave him alone".. " I hope he stays in the Elite league"..what a lot of nonsense as well.. If Andersen had done your team out of the league title in that manner, I bet a pound to a penny, that you'd be on here slating him or any other rider for that type of riding. Whether he was Danish, English or any other nationality.. I cannot condone a cheat in sport. If Nicholls had done the same thing, I would still be on his case..Why?? because he would be robbing the paying fans of a genuine race. Yes by all means leave him alone and let him carry on in the Elite league, that way he gets to do it again.. and I'll bet he does do it again. Next time I hope it has some bearing on a meeting involving YOUR team. I think the Swedes deserved their win.. what angers me the most is, A: British people defending him. B: Speedway fans all over the world will never know for sure if Team GB would have pulled off a race win and at the very least forced a runoff.. its FACT.. Hans Andersen cheated the speedway world, and having seen the slow motion replays on Sky again tonight..its becomes even more clear that he shut off and let PK round him. Yes Scott did get bye Hans..but it was far too late by then. Also if Hans had raced, PK would have been slowed up and Scott Nicholls may have had a chance of getting past PK.. but as I said..we'll never ever know now will we? And finally C:.. He has laughed in the face of us fans that ultimately pay his wages. Also how ironic..Hans has a ligament injury to his hand after crashing early in the World Final.. Misses tonights match, but is then fit to race in Sweden tomorrow and for Ipswich at both Poole Wed's and Ipswich on Thursday..
  2. You better make it 7 TomCat and add Mr Bates on the list... Dear oh dear.. Your no better !! I'm passionate about my country and my country's sports teams.. I suppose thats a crime is it. I congratulate My Country's Speedway team on a great performance. only spoiled by some Dane using underhand tactics and all of a sudden I get a response like that from YOU!! I can handle the loss.. its the manner in which we were beaten that gets my back up.. I suppose your one of these.. 'oh well thats life' brigade. I'd love to see your face if someone at your place of work stitched you up with the boss and you got taken down.. I suppose you'd just shrug your shoulders and sign on would you? We may well have lost that last race without the interferance of that Dane.. but the fans of speedway were robbed of the chance to find out.. Thats what the argument is about in the main.. he spoilt a fantastic tournament in just 10 seconds of one race.. And you dont mind that I suppose? All I can assume is that if you were there, that you love having cheats waste your money.
  3. Well done to you Middlo.. and the boys, Scotty, Mark, Lee, Floppy, Havvy and Joe.. You really made me proud to be British guys.. I for one will never ever forget that final or your combined efforts to bring home the ultimate team prize. Thanks again and your all WINNERS!!
  4. Go on then, prove it. Doh..typical.. Didnt you watch Sky then?.. If you did you will have seen the incident quite clearly.. If you didnt. Why are you butting on here? The proof was there in front of your eyes.. in fact in front of millions of pairs of eyes and you come on here and say..go on then.. just about sums you up.
  5. Well said SCB.. at least your proud to be British and stand up for the guys that rode their hearts out for us fans. TEAM GB... WINNERS IN MY BOOK!!
  6. Dont you just love the oh so patriotic fans on here.. "how can you say GB were robbed".. So what if Mick Bates did us a couple of favours, he didnt exactly help us when he admitted he saw a red light on the 3rd bend when Sotty stopped.. didnt help us then did he?? And dont tell me that if it had been in Sweden, that a Swedish ref wouldnt have done the same 'favours' for them too..also.. no-one can prove that he did any 'favours'. What I can prove..is that Hans Andersen cheated. As for why Scott passed him so easiily..simple really. He had done what he wanted..got PK in front and on an ultra slick track, Scott wasnt ever going to realistically pass Pk was he? As far as Dirty Hans was concerned, once PK was in front he had nothing left to race for and simply eased off again and went to the back. Denmark had 3rd sewn up..so finishing last didnt matter to their postion did it? Sour Grapes.. NO not at all.. just hate to see a so called professional sportsman cheat.. if it had been one of our lads doing the cheating, I'd still be up in arms about it as well..there is no place for cheats in any sport.
  7. We WOZ ROBBED, both by Hans Andersen and the muppet with the red light on the camera.. sheesh.. what more could Team GB have done to win it.. Hans had better start packing, as I cannot see a future for him at Ipswich. There has been a fued simmering between him and Scotty all season and this just takes the biscuit.. I cant see Scotty wanting to ride with Hans in the same side at Ipswich week in week out. I aint even gonna go there with regards JY and nationality.. Gold or Silver.. or no medal at all.. I am a BRIT and am mighty proud of the six lads that served BRITISH speedway so well this last week. Well done to Scott, Floppy, Havvy, Loramski, Ricco and the Screen Machine.. Sweden may have their name on the trophy.. but in my eyes and the eyes of thousands of British Supporters the World Over.. You Boys made us PROUD!! And you are all WINNERS!!
  8. Actually SCb.. now you mention it.. You may just have a good point there. Quick, wheres the Booze!! Tell ya what, lets have a whip round on here, send it to His Highness in Poole, sit back and have a laugh.
  9. Well I am not sloshed like Sir Kelv..but I did manage to predict that result..well the top two anyways on the Ipswich forum.. Great stuff and serves the Aussie right for being over confident.."We dont mind going to the raceoff..means we get to have a look at the track before Saturdays Final".. oohhh what went wrong Roo Boys? Out ridden and in the end outclassed, thats what happened. Although to be fair..although I hate to admit it.. the Aussies did their bit in an amazing and thrilling meeting. Shame the track went so slick.. spoilt it a tad as there wasnt enough grip after about 12 heats.. Hopefully Middlo gets his own way and tells Ole Olsen where to go and we get the track prepared how WE want it Saturday. Good Luck to TEAM GB Sat and I hope that whoever triumphs Sat, that the meeting is just as good and close.
  10. Crikey.. at least me and CraztCat now know we aren't the only ones who thought Sir Kelv sounded sloshed.. CrazyCat said as soon as he opened his mouth.. he sounds sozzled.. I said, one too many of the Amber Nectar to keep cool during the day.. then we come on here and whaddaya know.. loads of peeps noticed.. could that be the end for Sir Kelv and his Sky career?? Not the image that either Sky or British speedway would want to portray world wide is it?
  11. I dont know about you Steve.. but when I go to any speedway meetings, either in the UK or abroad, I actually go to see SPEEDWAY. If a fan is paying an arm and a leg for tickets, the least they should expect is to be able to have a good view of the racing, after all, thats what they are paying for. Not to sit around the Town or City holding the race meeting and boozing it up. I have been through Sheffield several times, no not the most visually pleasing place on earth, but friendly people and they have a good stadium for top class speedway. All I am saying about Poole is.. if fans are paying inflated prices for watching speedway there, then surely they should be able to do what they are paying to do.. WATCH speedway, not the back of some other persons head!!
  12. Dont feint Jess.. but I actually agree with you on that one.. Sat at home and YES you can actually feel the atmosphere, Sky do a cracking job of building it all up. As someone else has already said.. BSI have priced a lot of the HOME supporters out of it. 30 or 40 quid for 16 heats of speedway at each meeting. Not on your nelly. When you have a family, that is one expensive meeting. Also apparently the viewing at Poole is going to be highly restricted and people that want to be able to actually see the racing have been asked to arrive early to get a seat near the front!!! I think we made the right choice Jess.. sit in comfort, can have a drink or three and not have to worry about driving afterwards ( yeah I know you dont drive Jess.. ) and can chill out and enjoy the fun unfolding without missing any racing. Now thats a good!!
  13. And having read all of this on here.. I'm glad I have decided to have the best seat in the house.. Watching it on TV. You lot must be gluttons for punishment, thats all I can say. I was at Scott Nicholls Testimonial on Sat, something like 6,500 people in the stadium. It has a capacity of around 8,000, so it was pretty full, and no matter where you stood or sat, you got to see the racing and all of the fun going on. As has been said, its not a good advert for Poole and also raises the question of why the race off and Final are being held there. I see the point about smaller stadiums and creating an atmosphere, but surely if there are going to be problems with restricted viewing at Poole, wouldnt it have been better to have chosen a stadium where EVERYONE could see. After all the tickets are costing enough. Whats is it?? something like £30 to £40 a ticket? And theres a mighty good chance you wont see half the races. BSI greed raises it head again!! To be honest, the World Cup was spread about a bit last time we ran it.. Sheffield and Peterborough arent exactly up the road from each other. Why didnt somewhere like Coventry or even Sheffield get the nod again. Makes you wonder where the priorities lay with the people that organise and run these events.
  14. "CRIKEY" Shazzy.. your braver than I thought.. putting up with Lord kelv.. what a woman!!
  15. Good Luck to all the Brits in the U21 semi's.. Special good luck goes to Danny King from Ipswich. You go and show them Dumps.. We'll all be rooting for you here young man.
  16. Well... blow me socks off and call me barnacle Bill.. sorry. SCB your are 100% spot on. Cracking post and you have hit the nail squarly on the head. All we seem to do is bow to pressure from other leagues. They dont give a stuff about us, so why should we give a stuff about them. Like you say... Sunday afternoon at Coventry and lets get it back to what it was intended for.. a way to qualify for the next stage of the World Championship. And your points about the kida and airhorns..also spot on. Way to go!!
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong here.. but I believe Zetters is from Sweden Angel.. So a wee bit more than a 30 minute drive.. Anyway.. to answer your question about who's going.. Not me.. why? Coz its too expensive. Wont be going to the final either for the same reason. I wont line the pockets of either the FIM or BSI. Will however be watching it all unfold on Sky and cheering Team GB all the way to the Trophy.
  18. Your absolutely right Gem.. A rider may recieve outside assistance within a 30 yard/meter distance of the start of a race. There is no rule to govern when a rider may turn. You may have seen some riders on TV actually pointing their machines towards the inside from the startline.. not a very sensible thing to do, unless you are 100% certain that you will get in front first. If not your gonna bump someone bigtime.. To add to the thread anyway.. Not a Nicki P fan in anyway, shape or form, but he gets a huge well done from me. Shows he can be a genuine sportsman and do the right thing. Now all he needs to do is carry on in the same way for the rest of his career and he'll be a huge success.
  19. While I'm not a Nicki Pedersen fan.. far from it, I actually have to say well done to him. Yes he has had more than a few riders off during races, but last night we all saw what a real sportsman he can be. He was out of the final and could have just laid there, but No.. he ran down the track to try and get his bike out of the way and so trying to stop the need for the ref to halt the race.. highly commendable and beggars the question.. why cant he behave like that all the time. He obviously does have a heart and also seeing him with his wife(well I assume It was HIS wife),he obviously has a soft and gentle side too.
  20. Sounds like the obvious solution Woody, but knowing BSI and co, it'll end up like a good carry on film or a bad one.. total farce!!
  21. Oh dear oh dear.. I see that the Louis bashers are on here as well.. Lighten up will you. So you believe that Chris doesnt deserve his one last GP appearance after all he has done for British Speedway. No he may not have set the GP alight towards the end of his GP run, but then again he couldnt compete with the big boys financially due to lack of sponsorship. Didnt see him turning up at a GP in a huge motor home and a massive entourage.. No, a simple van and his pit crew plus maybe his father if he was able to make the trip. Get of his back and give him your support for one more GP effort and show the guy you actually appreciated his efforts, both at club level and at National level as well. I know I will be hollerin' for him as will a few hundred other appreciative Brit fans. I have also seen elsewhere on this forum that Chris doesnt deserve his chance because he didnt want to do the British Championship.. well being a loyal servant to his club, Chris withdrew from the Semi Final of the Championship of GB as some numbskull had only gone and scheduled it to clash with an Elite League match the same night and Chris, along with Leigh Lanham and Lord Kelvin.. decided that loyalty to their club was more important than individual glory. I say, well done to them for that choice and only wished that more riders, both British and Foreign showed the same loyalty.
  22. hehehe.. the comment made about riders falling off as far away from the pits as possible is so true. I spannered for Matej Ferjan at Oxford when he and Toni Svab rode together for Ipswich a few years ago. Matej and Svab had this problem with each other.. for some reason that I don't know about, they hated each other and got in each others way a lot that season. This particular night, it was their first race of the evening and they clashed from the start and both fell on the apex of the first and second bends.. carnage ensued.. bikes and riders everywhere.. guess who had the job of running all the way from the pits on the third/fourth bends to recover the bike.. yep, ME!! I can tell you something now.. I'd rather run a marathon each day than push one of those bikes at speed from one end of the track to the other.. then you have to get the clutch cleaned out and so on.. I slept well that night, thats for sure. And on the comments about TRick deliberately laying still on track after crashing in the GP.. its common practice..You don't know at the time what dammage has been done, specially when part of your body, in TRick's case his hand, has been trapped in the bike. I remember having to help cut Lol Hare from the front wheel of Shaun Tacey's bike at Ipswich when they crashed together at Ipswich. Not a nice thing to have to do as you really dont know what to expect when they have been freed.. Fingers have been known to have been severed and the gloves are intact.. so the policy is to lay still and let the right people free you. Tomasz Gollob's actions in asking his mechanic for a spanner immediately to remove TRicks front wheel showed the concerns of those there. I was just thankfull that all riders involved in incidents at the GP were able to walk away relatively unharmed.. And yes I agree that the medical staff in Prague were not up to the job.. BSI get it sorted before you have a serious incident on your hands!!
  23. Rick Miller.. I had a picture from a newspaper a few years back showing Rick's engine exploding out of the frame of his machine.. Cracking picture, dunno if I can find it now as have moved house recently, but if I do come across it, I will attempt to scan it and post it.
  24. I am as sure as I can be that there was a speedway troupe that went to Spain some years ago and ran a couple of indoor meetings , I believe in Barcelona. I am also sure that either John Louis or Chris Louis was involved. Like I said, not sure when it took place, but am certain that it did. Just remembered, I think Barry Briggs organised it.
  25. Sorry, but I am with the 99.9% who think that TRicky was lucky tonight.. any other GP, but one in his own back yard and he would have been excluded, especially the first time, the man went straight across the corner. Looked like some sort of mechanical problem, even so, he caused the accident. The second with Gollob was touch and go, Gollob could have been seen as having altered his line, but then again TRick was charging hard towards the outside and took Gollob out. And TRick was behind at that point, hence the need to ride wider looking for grip.. resulting in knocking Gollob off, my opinion was he should have been excluded for that. Jesper B Jensen had no gripe about his semi fall, yes Gollob did go under him hard, but didnt touch Jensen at all, loads of room and Mr Steele got that one right. As for Mr Crump.. well in the same 1st TRick incident he too should have gone, he fell on his own and had no help, so both of them should have been excluded. As for the starting gate fiasco.. Mr Steel must have seen them go up on the skew as he had to view re-runs of the start of that heat involving TRick and then Crump falling and so must have looked at the head on view from the tapes.. what was he playing at. Also beggars the question..why didnt any of the riders say anything sooner?
