Fantastic stuff so far. certainly dispelling the myth that slick tracks produce naff racing. I was one of those, until tonight. Way to go team GB, I seriously think we can qualify.... C'Mon team GB..

On the General Discussions Page, under the Injured Riders thread, there is a post that says Nicki may ride in the SWC Final if Denamrk qualify. IMHO he would be nuts to even try after those injuries.... if that is true.

Nice One Mick...16/1... Glad Danny didnt let you down. No point arguing with Orion either, he cant see anything beyond his own snout. Obviously, Danny was top scorer, as even the Bookies could see that Harris' score included a Joker ride, which in old money is 3 points, the 3 extra for the joker isnt counted, either in the Bookies eyes or that of the official scorers. Confusing for some, as its used in the team score on the night, but....oh why am I bothering, you cant explain the obvious to anyone who's stock answer is "Whoosh"... -

Good grief...just seen that picture of Nicki's injuries... Maybe now some of the clowns that sit here constantly slating riders will see what can happen. It IS dangerous and Nicki is a lucky fella, could have been a lot lot worse. Speedy recovery Nicki and hope to see you on track sometime soon. -

Well I'm with you Ando... and welcome to the forum by the way. Scott has done more for speedway in Britain tha he is given credit for. Unfortunately, there are people on here that just want to have a go for the sake of it. Why?? Who knows, but they do and its getting more than a little tiresome to be honest. As for the Team GB boys Monday night, I saw lots of positives out there on track. Taking note of everything they did, some great gates, but places were lost through bad positional sense on track or a lack of power. Whether the latter was down to setups, we will never know, but they were passed way too easily. Danny King shut his critics up I believe, with a wonderful performance on track. It shows that he can do the business in with the 'Stars' of speedway. Tai looks like he was one suffering from a lack of horsepower. We all know he has the natural ability to race with the best, but just didnt look quick enough. Bomber was bomber, brilliant one minute, not so good the next, but again there is no doubting his ability mounted on the right equipment. Eddie just looked out of his depth, the only really low point for the team Monday. Never looks comfortable on big tracks and it showed. Lewis, again on the right kit, has what it takes and bags of courage and passion. Replace Eddie with Rico on Thursday and I think thats a fair team to go with. Ok so Scott could come into the equation, but I personally think he isnt ready for that again at the moment. Yes, I would love to see him in there, possibly in place of Tai, but his form is still a bit of a worry, despite an upturn in recent meetings. Whatever happen Thursday, if the boys picked give it their all, then I'll be happy. All you can ask is 100% effort and some passion, which we got Monday. C'Mon Team GB.. -

Well I'll be 'Bowed'... I do like Bow, but the Magners here is something rather special. Maybe we get the real deal here and you lot get the crud over there... Used to drink Bow a lot, but have to seriously say that the Magners has won me over..... specially a nice cold one on a hot day... and YES we do have bloody hot days here, sometimes too darned hot. -

As has already been said, maybe Mr Olsen is being controlled. Looking at the Vojens track for event one on Saturday, that looked to have more dirt on it than we have seen in the past. Or was that my imagination? -

It usually is ML. Only time I have seen it ultra slick was the night that a certain Tony Rickardsson made his second debut for the Witches, 97 or 99 I think it was. He got down on his hands and knees after the meeting and looked very closely at the track looking for some dirt..... and it was VERY slick that night. -

Fantastic Race meeting.... Hurts to say, but well done Buster. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall during any conversations with Mr Olsen. So, where are those that said Danny King would be our weak link??? Nice one Dumps and I'd have you in for Thursday young fella. Likewise Bomber and Bridger. Stick Scotty and Rico in and we will have a fair chance I reckon. Well Done to Rob Lyon, took a huge gamble and it paid off. My neighbours must be wondering what I'm on, such was the shouting and hollering for the young Brits. Just as an aside, poor Matej Zagar, didnt deserve that exclusion for delaying the start, he didnt do anything that others hadnt been doing all night. And a big LOL to Tomek Gollob....what was he doing in his last ride to get put out under the 2 minutes???? Sorry, dont buy the engine story at all..... it didnt matter as far as the result went, but not very professional Tomek... -

Unfortunately, when riders abandoned the leather race suits, injuries of this type were always going to happen. Whilst I understand Snappers comments, Snyper also has a point. The way that Nicki's leg was trapped, even a cotton undersuit was not going to protect his leg. I have seen riders get burnt from contact with spinning rear wheels, even with a full leather race suit on. And YES, I've raced and have been there, done it, read the book etc. Regarding what should and should not be worn, that is unfortunately down to the individual rider. If he wants to skimp on protection, some do as it can restrict movement, then I am afraid that is their lookout. I fell more often than I would have liked during my stint on track, never got a serious burn to speak of, not even a case of gravel rash, as the leather suit protected me. Then I saw kids racing in Kevlars and even the most innocent slide off usually resulted in several layers of skin being taken off and believe me thats bloody sore. I did that on a road bike and couldnt sit down for weeks. There are pluses and minuses on all sides, but I personally would advocate a return to full leather race suits... thats just MY opinion.

Well as a former rider.... and I dont mean this to sound nasty, But What A Load of Cobblers. There is and never has been a gentlemans agreement like the one you state. Quite simply, we are there to race, if rider X is behind and faster, its down to him to find a way past, not for the leading rider to move over. During my career, I quite often found myself behind, not a very good gater you see, and at no point did I get left any room to pass deliberatley. I had to use my head and work out where on track I could pass, looked for any mistakes or where the leading rider was having problems negotiating bends etc. Its called Track craft...!! Yes some riders will leave a 'Fair' gap to race. a good example used to be Chris Louis and Mark Loram, who would leave eachother room to race fairly, but wouldnt leave big gaps deliberately, it was a common respect for eachother. But never have any riders, to my knowledge, had a gentlemans agreement on that score.

Bit of a worry for Boycey I reckon, specially with Rory going down tonight. Any more news on his condition, one report says a break etc, but until someone gets concrete news on this, I wont take that as read. Hope Roo isnt as badly injured as suggested, I like the fella and it would be a shame if he has to miss any meetings, let alone the SWC. Hope you enjoy the rest of your tour BFD.

Dont make me laugh...talk about having about having a serious grudge against a rider. How old are you?? If you're old enough, you will have seen Scott develop from a 16 year old lad and novice, into one of the sports top riders. Ok, so he hasnt won the World Title, neither is he likely to, but for heavens sake, get a grip on reality. Having followed Scott from his first pro rides, to his current position, he has never been a deliberately dirty rider. This business with Harris is all a load of cobblers, yes they had a few clashes, but no more than two rams butting heads to sort out who's the topdog. Yes, they had a coming together, but its not like Scott goes out and tries to ram Harris everytime they meet on track. And as for your comment about "What goes around comes around".... Scott has been on the end of some seriously dirty riding, but has not gone out of his way to seek revenge. This incident in the British GP is being blown out of all proportion by many. It was hard riding from Scott, but he did leave room, the Russkie just couldn't handle it, simple as that. It could have been anyone out there, riding him hard, it just so happened to be Scott. I concure with many on here, Scott is one of THE nicest and most approachable riders in World speedway. Like when my son was having some serious medical problems, Scott was the first to do something for the lad. Photo's with him, with my boy on his bike, giving my lad a racejacket, signed lots of goodies for him and asked after his well being at every opportunity, Scott even had him round to his Dads house, to see the workshop setup one day. Along with Craig Boyce, who kindly donated his brand new racing gloves to my boy, during the same time period, those guys will always be No1 for us. Just out of interest KiddlyKestrel... Have you ever taken the time to speak to Scott, ask him about his racing, what he thinks, seen him as he is off track??? I doubt very much that you have. Yet another that jumps on the 'Lets Bash Scott Nicholls' Bandwagon, without actually knowing the guy. As for being arrogant, you are so far off the mark, you're nearly on another planet. Scott is passionate about his racing, he wants to win for his team, or his country. Do you honestly believe he likes losing races?? If you do, then might I respectfully suggest you go and seek another sport to watch, because you have very little knowledge of UK speedway and Scott Nicholls in particular. And at NO point did Scott say he was going to be World Champion, he wants to be in that top 8 to qualify on merit...oooh but thats arrogance according to people like you. To others its ambition, pure and simple. I have no doubt that Scott would have like the World Title to add to his ... what is it 5 British Titles now??? But even he is realistic enough to realise that thats not likely now. When you can back up your wild claims about Scott with cold hard facts, please come back and enlighten us with them, but I wont be holding my breathe as you dont have any do you? Apart from what you apparently see on track, which is not something that happens very often from Scott, what do you actually personally know about him?? I will of course, expect the usual senseless response, as is the usual way on this forum lately. An yours is not an opinion, its an attack on a rider for the sake of it. This site IS about different opinions, but NOT attacks on riders for the sake of it and using the "Its just my opnion" line doesnt cut it I'm afraid. Well, you can now show your true colours with another scathing attack, but thats to be expected. At the end of the day, I dont particularly like Harris, but I'll be cheering him on in both the SWC and the GP's, as I will ALL of our Team GB boys, regardless of my opinions of them. -
