  1. I would like to think that Leicester could get close enough to Somerset on Friday, and set it all up for a good close match on Saturday. But, in all honesty the way we perform away I can't see it. I tend to agree with tinytimrebel, it will all be done and dusted by Friday night.
  2. I don't think that £15.00 is to bad in this day and age. But, travel, programmes, drinks, food etc does obviously push up the cost. I would imagine that a family with say two children would find it a lot of money. I was trying to think how much it was at Long Eaton when I first went in the 70s..........And I can't . Be interesting to see how much it has actually gone up over the years.
  3. What do you expect. I've been to every home league meeting at BP since the sport returned. Plus away meetings at Scunthorpe, Sheffield, Redcar, Rye House. The Fours at Peterborough the PLRC at Sheffield. I think it's safe to say that I do support Leicester Lions. Yes as a team they have done very well this year, I don't think anyone is disputing the fact. But, anyone who goes to speedway on a regular basis would say, its a terrible track. The meetings are so long and drawn out , they are for ever grading the track which makes no difference to the speedway at all. Its just not an enjoyable experience. Of course people will moan.................because there is something to moan about.
  4. I'm really pleased I didn't bother with this one, going to the PLRC instead on Sunday. Leicester really do appear to be the kings of messing about. The track is still bloody awful, and don't get me started on the amount of grading that is done .............oh boy. And Speedway wonders why some clubs are in financial difficulty
  5. Sadly it's not just about the price of admission. In my case I live near Nottingham and go to see Leicester. Admission £15.00 Programme £2.50 Fuel £10.00 Total £27.50 pw Month £110 It's my choice to pay that, I love speedway, been watching since I was 12 years old. A long time. But, if you think about it..........it's a lot of money. People simply haven't got available to spend on leisure activates. I personally think speedway is becoming to expensive.
  6. Interesting week ahead for the Leicester Lions. In theory they could actually end up being top of the league. Redcar, Edinburgh and Workington all away in three Consecutive nights of speedway. Could there be a surprise in the offing ?
  7. Poole was out on the track on Saturday after the meeting..............going round and round.
  8. It was against Milldenhall. Dave Jessop was the captain of Milldenhall, and persuaded his team mates it was to dangerous to ride the track.
  9. Whether your a casual fan or real fan, as you put it. Both deserve value for money.
  10. Taken from David Hemsleys Rye House programme notes. Kevin Doolan had waited patiently to speak to me about our track. Kevin was so complementary about the track surface and shape that it has reassured everyone at Leicester Speedway that our winter changes were correct and that we have one of the very best racing tracks in the country. So nothing wrong there then.
  11. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think only Somerset, Workington, Ipswich and Newport could do better. But, I think we are all in for a interesting season. One thing is for sure Leicester will be far more competitive than last year. And with the track alterations at BP some better racing as well.
  12. Time will tell. I think you may be surprised That's probably why a lot of people put them down for a top six place is it
  13. It's a funny old game...........er no that's football.
