  1. being impartial referees should be the only ones to decide really, captains and managers will always have their own agenda. arlington will have had a few black marks during the dusty sunday afternoons against it but some of the other tracks must have been quite poor aswell.
  2. if nick simmonds throws his leg over a bike this year i can't see it being anywhere other than for the warriors. i was a big fan of webster when he came to newport from weymouth so that would be nice for me but if hughes is the strong rumour and with it known at rye that he isn't riding there i don't see him being beaten to the spot by any of the four really. i should have paid a bit more attention to jake as the reaction to him signing has been very good indeed .
  3. with 17.10 for the 3 remaining riders , if powell is no7 could we get andrews and owen within the last 14.10 ? if so is there anybody else who would like to see both back.?
  4. i don't know nick phillips, any info please.
  5. because some promoters will still go for foreign riders first , but i think things are starting to change with the british n.l. and the youth championships and pinching a few grasstrack and motocross youngsters who've been racing since they were 5 or 6 yrs old.
  6. i thought i'd take a squint at the new logo to see what the fuss is about. looks more like something to do with nascar than anything to do with speedway but what is impressive is the army of sponsors behind the team. can't wait to come and visit one of my favourite places to watch speedway again.
  7. after i stopped laughing i thought you are wrong there , haven't you seen the size of some of those side-car boys, they could sew 2 of theirs together.
  8. oh jesus ! i've only just started being able to say zach whatsisname
  9. so you want all the N.L. tracks to be altered to the same size so it's easy for the 3 pointers, although you seem to be singling out eastbourne i assume you include buxton and rye house aswell. NEWS FLASH it's not supposed to be easy , they are there to learn to ride the different tracks. what a great idea so if they learn to ride well enough they might get picked up by an elite league side and then be faced with turning the first corner at lakeside, brilliant.
  10. anybody see the N.L.R.C. going anywhere other than kent?
  11. it didn't seem pointless when the team were celebrating on the centre-green as the first of the treble but i suppose it's connor that does the number crunching so he should know. i still would have liked to have been in it though, especially with 2 more teams.
  12. why has eastbourne dropped out of the trophy?
  13. having gone from will it be 2 spillers ? to almost certainly no spillers i'm a bit lost too. i would like andrews and owen back, and it should be powell at 7. other than that i'm just keeping faith with connor as he knows what team he's going for whether it's 36,37 or 38.
  14. it used to happen in the 'good old days' alex, but the many advocates of bringing the rule back seem not to take into account that many young riders along with their mums & dads are not going to be willing to drive the length and breath of england for 2 races every meeting. if people want rid of the double points ride then by all means get rid of it so the scores are the scores and thats an end to it. they shouldn't replace it with an equally ridiculous rule that will also lead to riders getting p*****ed off and leaving the sport.
  15. well he won't be coming to arlington the southern sea air makes him want to fight everyone
  16. it's not just your opinion, i totally agree and the national league proved it this year.
  17. junior fan i think you've just had your first senior moment
  18. no disrespect to morley , but if the points limit is high enough to have him in the side i'd rather we had bwd back.
  19. in an uncertain sport in an uncertain world i'm as certain as i can be that geogie wood will be a heat leader long before the end of the season. why isn't there more news on the reserves as if they will all be 3 pointers it won't have any impact on team building whether it's 36, 38 or 40 will it ? i thought everyone would have done the same as the brummies.
  20. there was also the problem of a number of long term injuries in the first few months which had promotions finding it difficult/impossible to get riders as replacements. i'm with you i would like a 40 but i think it will be 38. no way should it be 36.
  21. yes, him and tony atkin are very much alike in many ways.
  22. nobody better to learn from , from a racer, person or atitude perspective but i hope they don't pick up his gating .
  23. i don't quite understand how people are talking about the brummies being potentially top heavy and then saying that they have the strongest reserve pairing in the league ?
  24. any eagles or eaglets know when we're going to have some news to enthuse about ? i'm getting insanely jealous of fans posting what fantastic signings they've made .
