Thank you very much but I don't need anything spelling out to me. Try reading the Clive Dunn thread on the General Discussion pages, and you see the words after Clive Dunn. RIP. When we get the unfortunate news of someone passing the title will have RIP. i went to thread not even remotely thinking that anything had untoward happened to Gary.

Not quite sure what you are getting at here to be honest. I see nothing wrong with the title, and cal for these types of titles to be banned seems very excessive. .

Would be nice to see how one of Britain's Speedway Legends is progressing with what was a really nasty injury.
-
I think people are been far too over sensitive. The only thing that cross my mind when I opened it was that someone was making enquires on Havvy's racing career.

Would love Palm Toft, but he has already signed for Scunny.
-
Well I am going for a young Dane.
-
We will have to wait and see, looks like we will find out Thursday morning who the rider could be .

I don't think it is Koppe, in fact I don't think it is a Aussie.
-
There was a rumour that his Mother was British, but that was proven to be untrue, so he comes in on a 5 point assessed average.
-
Could it be that your wish will come true.

Don't see why Newcastle could not go with a heatleader trio of; Rene Bach Mark Lemon Staurt Robson.
-
Very good.

What about a Sheffield team of. (1) Kauko Nieminen (2) Joe Haines (3) Cory Gathercole (4) Ricky Wells (5) Stuart Robson (6) Simon Lambert (7) 3 point rider.
-
I would say anything up to a week after the meeting. So there could be an element of truth in what Dave Massey Harris might be saying.
-
Yeah but did not half put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Ruling out Ricky Ashworth Charlie Gjeddde Pepe Franc That would leave; Craig Cook Joe Screen Leigh Lanham Kauko Nieminen Stuart Robson Ben Barker Ulirch Ostergaard Josh Auty Jason Doyle
-
Sheffield do speak to all their assets before putting their team together, but generally they allow riders to ride where they want to, hence the reason why I have rule him out, as he has already said that he would like to be back at Berwick. Me neither, just showing what could be possible.

Okay what about. (1) Ty Proctor (2) Joe Haines (3) Ricky Wells (4) Cory Gathercole (don't believe I actually said that) (5) Kauko Nieminen (6) Simon Lambert (7) 3 point rider.

Some fair comments there, so if not Simon Stead then who else. The one thing that was blindingly obvious last season was that we need a rider who could score big points on a regular basis.
-
I will agree with the vast majority of what you are saying. I do think Steady would be a very valuable number 1 is Swindon form towards the end of season was very good. The big stumbling block appears to be to get him we would probably have to change the race day to Sunday. My own personal view is that if that is the one sole reason for changing the date then we should stick with Thursdays, there are other riders out there Ty Proctor I am told has twittered that he is not riding in Sweden or Poland next season and would welcome the chance to double up. He would come in a slightly lower average thus giving us more points to play around with. If you believe the Leicester 2013 thread we have already signed up Kauko Nieminen, who would be a better option than what we had last season. Much as I think Steady would be just what we are looking for, I think that there has to be a limit to what we do to get him, and if that is why the Promotion are considering the change only on that basis then I would say stay with Thursdays and lets look elsewhere.

Upstairs  Downstairs.

Crowds did drop when Ricky left the club. I don't think last season was about one rider leaving it was more of a case of the lack of a true number 1, which Ricky would be if we brought him back. But too be honest unless unless Berwick don't run then we won't see him back at Sheffield.
-
Much as I would like to see Simon back at the club, I have to agree with the last sentence. I don't think that Simon is considering any other Elite League club other than Swindon and it appears that any Premier League spot he might take would have to fit in with his plans to ride for Swindon..
-
Ricky has stated that his preference is go back to Berwick for next season.
-
There lies the problem, if we run Thursdays we can kiss goodbye to signing Simon Stead as he wants to double up with Swindon, both Swindon and Sheffield run on Thursdays.
