  1. I think the days of describing The National League as a Development league have long gone. While ever the league is made up of teams that have differing Agenda's, where you have teams that are stand alone teams or teams that are basically 2nd teams of senior teams. I do find it very funny that the more complaints come from the likes of Stoke, Rye House and Scunthorpe. Stoke have used Tony Atkin for the last two seasons who is nearly as old as me. Rye House David Mason And Scunthorpe who have an abundance of young talent at their finger tips at the start of the season were prepared to use Jason King As for Joe Haines riding in the short term replacement for Adam Roynon, well he is rider who is or has been putting his career back on track, and the thing he needs is extra rides, and I find it more frustrating to see the riders above getting place or been given the opportunity rather than Joe taking some rides on a very short term basis.
  2. I guess you have never been to Sheffield and our World's Best Car Park.
  3. Whoops must remember not to post while I am eating my tea, should read the last couple of months.
  4. Remember that in the KOC there is no tactical rides a team goes so far behind they can pull points back in the league. In saying that this is our last home fixture, and I think that the riders will be determined not finish their home fixtures with a loss.. We also have Joe Haines returning at reserve who has been scoring decent points over the last couple of points. I will take Sheffield to win by 6. .
  5. Now done and posted on the Speedway Gneral Discussions Board.
  6. Here we go. Best visiting team; Workington/ Berwick/ Edinburgh Most unluckiest team; Somerset Sheffield Rider of the year; Joe Haines. Most baffling Sheffield rider; Ricky Wells Premier League form v Ricky Wells Elite League. Best meeting; Sheffield v Leicester Best visiting fans; Leicester very vocal. Worst visiting fans; Leicester far to gobby . Best after meeting meal; The Parmo. Most baffling incident at a speedway meeting; Squall trying to kick me in the nuts at Redcar. Funniest moment; Squall falling in love with his Parmo and wanting to be the South Yorkshire/ Derbyshire ambassador for the Parmo. Most baffling Team Management decision; Sheffield v Glasgow. Unluckiest visiting fan; Paulco who came down to Sheffield to see his team get humped, but missed his teams victory. Visiting fans that sulked the most; Bandits4va at the first Berwick meeting Biggest smile by a visiting fan; Bandits4eva at the second Berwick meeting. Best texters; Squall and Spin Junior the Batman and Robin of the Updaters Best Updater; Youngy Worst Guest rider; Justin Sedgmen Best Guest rider; Christian Henry. Luckiest visiting fan; Halifax Tiger (Don't do the raffle at Sheffield when he is there) Best visiting rider; Lasse Bjerre, Adam Roynon and Craig Cook. Funniest away moment; Drac sulking at Redcar when took a point off them.at their place. .
  7. No more disgraceful than buying a chicken burger, asking for no mayo and finding when you get it that they have put mayo on it. Now that would be enough for anybody to kick off.
  8. Or they could Choose to put the smile back on your face and sign Simon Lambert. Do a deal with stadium owners and get free car parking for the best car park in British Speedway. Ban Halifax Tiger from the raffle to give everyone else a chance to win the raffle. Get a new Track side Presenter. And re-open the bar on bend 1 so that I don't so much of the beer. And Neil Machin gives you a tenner every week to buy a drink for a change..
  9. I will agree that this season has been poor, but to claim that the club has been steadily going downhill over a number of seasons is not true. Last season we finished second in the league, and fourth the year before hardly suggests the club has been going steadily downhill. Will be interesting to see what the Promotion do next season.
  10. Well my nomination for Team Manager would go to Halifax Tiger. He has an excellent winning mentality (he won the raffle yet again at Birmingham last night) He has those lucky shorts, not only does it shower some look on the team, but also with those legs bound to bring in a large contingent of females who would come just see Tiger's legs. And he is good at filling in a programme. Has to be a done deal..
  11. Congratulations to Bandits, end of the day the best team on the night won. Nice to meet up with my Bandits friends again. Also a big well done to the track staff for getting the meeting on apparent certain part of the track had been under water, not that you would have guess looking at the track before the meeting started. And some of the Sheffield riders need to take a long hard look in the mirror at themselves then look at Chris Schramm, because that guy puts in 100% every race and has no luck. Been a long hard season supporting the Tigers this season, roll on 2013. And again Well Done The Bandits. Any one know if its still raining in Scunthorpe.
  12. Still raining at Sheffield, but the forecast is good showers till 1.00pm, and then the rain stops and sun shine from 6.00 pm onwards. Generally they reckon providing the rain stops by dinnertime the track will be okay.
  13. Quick question,or clarification of the rules; Alden is not injured or riding in a FIM meeting, should Berwick be allowed a facility. I thought in cases like this teams were only allow to cover with a National League Guest.
  14. So it will be the lucky shorts, Plymouth programme board. And a winning raffle ticket.
  15. Very bold move by the Somerset promotion, Vissing a very good and fast rider, but does come off the bike very often and seems to spend lots of time on the injury list. As for Sam Masters Sheffield have a spot in their team that would suit him fine.
  16. I think a lot will depend on what gate positions. If Josh gets two gate four positions twice then I think he will struggle to make the semi's.
  17. Hats off to the Glasgow Promotion, and lets hope it is a success. Proves even though the present Promotion is looking to sell the club on they are still committed to the club.
  18. I think you will find the Olly Allen is out injured with a broken arm, and likely to be out for the rest of the season.
  19. Well Done Scunthorpe on another victory over, and I am sure that they walk it into the Play Offs. Poor season for us at Sheffield, but at least after all the big talking on what Scunthorpe were going to do to us we still got the better of the 4 head to head meetings this season. Points Taken from League and Trophy matches Scunthorpe 6 Sheffield 7 Race points from League and Trophy matches Scunthorpe 177 Sheffield 179 I suppose if you are going to have a poor season at least amke sure you get the better of your local rivals. .
