spin king replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I would say that the whole of the top 5 need to be on their best form. -

Kings Lynn Stars v Sheffield Tigers 19/08/21
spin king replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Hopefully the situation at Kings Lynn gets sorted. Maybe the sponsor who took over the Team Manager role could take on the Owner/ Promoter role.. As for the meeting been called off. Riders don't get to call off meetings, Referee's do. -

Brilliant win for Adam. Been superb for us at Sheffield this season, been a very under rated rider in my opinion. -

Play off merry-go-round

I don't see a problem with that. Would give extra rides to riders who have committed to a season in British speedway. Might also convince my own club to make Danyon Hulme a permanent replacement. Might be some issues with say the Aussie riders who might decided they want go home earlier. But the concept and the principal I totally agree. -
Witches Vs Tigers

Hearing Craig Cook was suffering from a badly stubbed big toe. -
Agree totally, and recent interview Steady more or less hinted that Josh was not coming back anytime soon. For me James Shanes is the best out there available to take on the roles. But whether it is James Shanes or another rider, we need to get a rider in to replace to give a settled side. The alterative is that we continue to use available Guest riders and finish up using the likes of Kyle Bickley who is frankly not the answer.

Or maybe Heeps was instructed not to pass Batchelor so Kings Lynn could use the tactical substitute in the next race as they did. Batchelor may have been trying to get Heeps to pass him so that Lynn could not use the tactical substitute. This sort of thing has happened before.

Nicki Pedersen is on record as saying he would be open to come ride for Sheffield if his Polish team failed to make the Play Offs. https://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/8677/pedersen-still-eyes-tigers-role

I am sure I read at the start of this season that they were cancelling the cut off for signing and changes.

Edinburgh v Birmingham 30/07/21
spin king replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Apologies guys did not see Crang's name on the list. -
Finding a replacement for Batch is easier said than done, there is no one apart from maybe Rohan Tungate (Dropped by his Polish club but not a consistent performer.) a possible replacement. There will be riders that will come available when riders that ride for Polish clubs that are not going to make the Play Offs and racing in GP series maybe be prepared to come over and act as replacement for Batch. These riders will come available after the last fixture due to ridden between 20th to 22nd August. Nicki Pedersen Chris Holder Kenneth Bjerre Are riders could well be ready and willing to come over and ride for the club.

I think that you will find that Luke Crang is not Edinburgh Rising Star. I would imagine that Nathan Greaves who is on the list will be re-declared Edinburgh's Rising Star rider. -
Go to around 20;30 and Troy tells them that he has now a British passport.
-
Troy definitely has a British passport he mention when he was a Guest on the podcast with Scott Nicholls and Shane Childs.

Batch is riding only for Sheffield. He has stated that he is having problems with the bike and not feeling right on the bike. And I do have degree of sympathy for him. But in the past we have had riders who have suffered loss of form, and they are back on the track after the meeting trying to sort any problems they have. From what I have seen so far this season he has a bad meeting packs the bikes away as soon as he finished. No sign of him going for an after meeting spin to try and sort out his problems.

I believe the top league in Sweden ride on a Tuesday, its the lower leagues ride on Thursday. So any rider that we would be looking at to replacing Batch would be available on Thursday's.

Ipswich are our nearest rivals for a Play Off. They have ridden 6 matches at home and have lost 3 of those matches. What we need to try ensure is that we don't lose anymore meetings at home to pip Ipswich. Providing Jack Holder is back sooner rather than later, I believe we can achieve this by replacing 3 riders. Those that needs replacing are; Troy Batchelor Forget , the likes of Nicki Pedersen won't be available until the Polish play offs start, and to be honest we cannot wait that long. Forget Vacilik, his Polish club will make the Play offs and he GP commitments and won't want to ride in the UK. Forget Barker or Kennett, not in the best of form, and frankly I doubt that they would be any better than Batchelor. Possible replacements Rohan Tungate could be a possibility, he has been released from his Polish club, could be issues with visa's, but if we can get over could possible do a job for us. Niels Kristian Iversen, could be a possibility rides for the same Polish team as Tungate, but the likelihood is that he too will be released but it would depend how or when he is fit as he has been injured. James Wright We need a reserve who will score decent points at home. Simon Lambert is scoring well this season, and he rides Sheffield well so he would my first choice. Ashley Morris is another we could consider. Josh Bates Time to stop using Guests for Josh, if he is not coming back for the next meeting then we need to get in a new permanent Rising Star. James Shanes would be my choice, would be capable of matching or bettering what Josh would be scoring. If Shanes is not available then how about bringing in Dan Thompson.

Don't know where you are but I am at Wisewood and not heard any thunder.

Palm Toft is based in the UK, as far as I am aware. Andersen and Ostergaard fly in I think but would imagine that they will be exempt.

Definitely feel for Sedgy he nothing wrong really, but at present Josh Pickering is on a different level.

Interesting.

Have Tarnow dropped him?

So my first meeting back in the stadium for this match. My impressions of the meeting. The first 7 heats were pretty much gate and go, and Kings Lynn were getting out of the gate far better than we were, and were deservedly getting the better of us. I think we were hampered by the fact that we had lost arguably the best rider or one of the best riders in the league, and a number 1 rider who is not riding anywhere near to his ability. Not quite sure what is with Batch lack of rides, machinery or attitude, possibly a combination of all 3, but if we are going to progress to the Play offs. The problem for us is that there is a lack of available riders to replace him so basically we are stuck with him, but you could feel the crowd are starting to get inpatient with him, and that is not good for the rider or club. Thankfully Ellis, Howarth and new boy Pickering, and bit of back up from our Guest rider Danny King, were hot and they basically got us through what would have been a disappointing loss. The Pickering signing was a Masterstroke, not only is he a good rider he is very entertaining and I can see him been a fans favourite as the season progresses. Kyle Howarth seems a different rider and seems to be showing great form. Adam Ellis has proved over and over again that he was an excellent signing and I only see him getting better and better. Dan Thompson showed plenty of promise, I don't think he is quite ready for the step up to the Premiership just yet but next season with more experience I would like to see the club give him a Rising Star place. James Wright I am not convince he is the right man for the job, and I think we should be actively look around if his performances don't pick up for a replacement. Overall a good fight back from the team, but as a team we need to vastly improve as it is Peterborough next week and this time Bomber will be riding at reserve, which is pretty scarier. And if Jack Holder is missing then we need to chose the best possible Guest rider available to us.
