  1. Just have a gander at the official Rebels site and it will all become clear Womble. Keep up man.
  2. You know what, you might be right. Perhaps it's a little tongue-in-cheek? Athough Michael Jackson did once visit Exeter and ZZ Top do look like they could come from deepest Somerset.
  3. Not forgetting The Sex Pistols . . all in the style of The Wurzels! Sounds fantastic! See you there, no doubt, OT?
  4. Hope I'm wrong, because Plymouth deserve a good season, but I think this team is a very risky one. I fear that Lemon, Schramm and Gathercole could all be in terminal decline and may not increase their averages at all. Not sure about Kling either but agree that Kurtz should do well as long as he's at reserve. Still more bottom 6 than top 6 in my book though. As I remember, when Lemon left the Rebels a few years ago he cited the M5 traffic on a Friday afternoon as a significant factor in him wishing to move on, yet he is now prepared to drive down to Plymouth instead? Good luck with that Mark - needs must, I suppose.
  5. Who can resist an open goal? And by the way, Antonio Lindback is alive and well, I believe!
  6. Firstly Starman, whilst it's frowned upon to go round correcting poster's spelling and grammar, to spell both first and second names of a rider incorrectly (and they stiil are!) shows a lack of respect in my opinion. Secondly, as Tom is to be the more experienced reserve, I for one will be expecting him to do rather more than just maintain his starting average if we are to have a successful season.
  7. Young, improving rider, still on an attractive average, yet 3 different clubs in 3 years and still looking for a place this year?? Hmm??
  8. Glad to see Wrighty get a place. Started really well with Somerset, but then failed to progress. Capable of beating heat leaders then being beaten by reserves. Perhaps the new challenge can rekindle that initial spark, but not sure he'll ever be anything but inconsistent and frustrating nowadays to be honest.
  9. I don't like to criticise other teams, as it can come back and bite you; but , Mellgren apart, this team looks poor. I'll be surprised if they win a point away from Hoddesdon, let alone a victory!
  10. Can't argue with any of that Cliffeboy. Our top 3 should ensure that we're competitive wherever we go, but in order to pick up some away wins we're going to need some significant contributions from a couple of the other lads. Whether that happens often enough for us to be challenging at the top of the league, only time will tell. If Jason, Nick and Josh can stay fit then I'm sure we'll not be far away again, but it's a big if. The make-up of our side does leave us particularly vulnerable if/when Nick or Josh are unavailable and the dreaded r/r 'guests' for us. Expecting Alex, Kyle and the 2 young reserves to adequately cover for one of those two is a huge ask. Let's hope that doesn't need to happen too often. Roll on March!
  11. Potentially very strong side coming in at 42.41. Would finish closer to first than last. And provide plenty of fireworks!!
  12. Alas no Aspegren at Somerset, so if this is to be your 7, and Ashworth and Smith are 100% fit, then the Bandits will be the team to beat in my opinion.
  13. Doyle, Morris, Grajczonek - couldn't wish for a stronger top 3, all capable of finishing in the top 10 of PL averages next year - but leaves us vulnerable elsewhere. Personally I'd have preferred to see Aspegren for Morris to leave almost 5.00 for the final place to improve the balance of the side, but the Promotion have proved time and again that they know the time of day, so can't grumble too much. Fingers crossed they've got it right again.
  14. Not sure who you're referring to Mr.T, but it isn't Simon Walker
  15. Thanks Mr.Stag. Quiet day at work yesterday.
  16. Looking forward to hearing some team news next Thursday night. Interested to see that both Wethers and Nedermark are moving next season - hope they're in the mix with Aspegren, Morris and the 2012 Rebels to produce another excellent septet.
  17. C.Gjedde 8.88 (9.22) J.Doyle 8.00 (9.17) N.Morris 6.94 (8.00) T.Pijper 5.98 (7.71) A.Roynon 4.54 (7.07) A.Birks 3.81 (5.59) R.Worrall 3.73 (5.78) Could have been put together for 41.88 in March. Would now need 52.54! Or how about: Doyle 8.00 (9.17) Lawson 7.86 (8.64) Roynon 4.54 (7.07) Pijper 5.98 (7.71) Birks 3.81 (5.59) Worrall 3.73 (5.78) Ashworth 8.39 (8.84) Was 42.31 . . . . .Now 52.80!! And yes, I am stuck at work and bored!!
  18. Very true. But maybe Doyley's going back to Poole instead.
  19. Assuming Doyley and Morris are to stay with Swindon, can't see how they could both double-up for the Rebels too. That's not even a plausible rumour.
  20. PL Champs was close . . . . . but then it went horribly wrong!!! Got next weeks Lottery numbers, Iceman?
  21. Ok CB, maybe the Simon Walker comparison was a little extreme, but my point remains the same. Alex has been "inconsistent" away from home IMO. 12 at Glasgow, 10 at Berwick, 9's at Leicester, Rye and Scunny, but 0's at Ipswich(x2), Newcastle and Leicester, 2 at Plymouth = inconsistency by my definition. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking Alex - he's been a joy to watch at the OTA this year and I'd be more than happy to see him back - but if he could just be more consistent away from home . . . . . . he has the potential to be averaging 7.00 or more. As for Simon . . . as I remember it, for those couple of years, he WAS an 'awesome' reserve/ no.2, regularly beating the opposition's heat-leaders at the OTA. . . . as I say, 'as I remember'. Unfortunately, I don't remember as much as I used to
  22. I certainly agree with you regarding the home form - can't afford to drop points at home - which is why my teams feature riders like Wethers, Nedermark and Aspegren who have always shown a liking for the OTA, but are capable of scoring away as well, which gives them the nod over Alex Davies for example. Alex reminds me a little of Simon Walker - awesome at home but too inconsistent away. I have no problem with retaining Tom at reserve, just not with a 3-pointer. One reserve needs to have the potential to average 5+ so that if a second string is going through a lean patch, the reserve can move into the main body of the team instead and allow the struggling rider to regain form through a confidence-boosting spell at reserve. Having 2 reserves starting with below 4.00 averages makes this unlikely, unless, as I said, we can unearth a 'diamond' like Richie Worrall.
