  1. Is this just a ruse to get me to reveal my winning Fantasy Speedway team?
  2. Thank God - sanity prevails at last! Proctor was a panic signing. The reason given for releasing Nick initially was the fixture clashes with Swindon meaning only R/R would be available - but as soon as Doyley had to go, Nick should have been straight back in at no.1, giving us the option of a guest when he's unavailable. A shame for Proctor, but he's obviously been struggling on his return and this makes the Rebels competitive again.
  3. Ole Olsen when I was a young Brummies fan - just because he was too good for us. More recently, James Grieves - never a popular visitor to the OTA.
  4. Well said! Very moving. Brought it all back - what a truly horrendous meeting that was. Good luck to Gary and his family.
  5. Lawson/Harrison? Lawson/Howarth? Ostergaard/Skidmore? Aspegren/Wethers?
  6. Seems it must be Nicholls and Kasprzak then, however unlikely.
  7. Korneliussen / Worrall? Karlsson / Bridger? Ulamek / Swiderski??
  8. Behave yourself! Drop the injury-prone, potentially weakest link in the side that will allow you to sign a straight replacement without having to re-jig the whole team! He just happens to be British in this instance.
  9. I'm not comfortable with this 'Poole of the PL' tag we seem to have acquired. Let's take Brady on a 5, swap Allen for a six-pointer (Jorgensen?) and silence these 'cheats don't prosper' merchants. We'll still be right up there again next year, whether Brady's on a 3, a 5 or even a 7!
  10. But history tells us that Olly Allen will get injured - and probably sooner rather than later.
  11. Are you for real?? Never be good enough for what exactly? To entertain the punters by trying his heart out? Blasting round the boards at the Oak Tree - good enough for me, and a nicer lad you couldn't wish to meet. Good luck to him, wherever he ends up.
  12. Talk about top heavy! Going for the same formula as last season - only more so! Hope it's just as successful.
  13. Glad to see we can finally agree on that Cliffeboy - it's only taken 12 months! Looks like there may be some surprises in the Rebels line-up - just for a change. . Is the line-up to be announced gradually via the website this year, do you know?
  14. Surely those riders currently eligible to double-up would be eligible to ride in every fixture, making a total of 44 possible paydays, plus play-offs,etc. It would only be the 'elite stars' who would be restricted to maybe 18 fixtures. I think it has the makings of a good idea, but who would ride instead of Holder and Ward when Poole took on Somerset, for example, Brother Cockney? Edit: Sorry Cockney - read your post again and I see you've already answered my question. Doh!
  15. In his defence, Starman isn't a wind-up merchant nor is he being sarcastic - he really is this stupid!
  16. Yes you do what? I'm not sure supporting Poole and Somerset really counts as 'doubling-up'?
  17. There's only one paragraph, and if you still can't see what SS1 was inferring then there's no hope for you.
  18. Superstar1 was obviously referring to the sacking of Stefan Nielsen - even an idiot can see that - and, however unsavoury that act may have seemed at the time, there is no denying that the introduction of Charles Wright has strengthened the bottom end of the team.
  19. Thanks to both gr8scot and Arson for keeping the rest of us 'non-twitters' informed - much appreciated.
  20. Thanks for that - any further updates would be greatly appreciated. And what exactly are the 260+ viewing the Redcar section on the Updates site actually looking at?
  21. Doesn't appear so Nick - very frustrating! Can anyone help?
  22. Have to agree with you (think that's a first!). How a 'summer' sport that is completely at the mercy of the British weather can plan to run the climax of it's season in the last week of October is beyond me! Play-offs should be done and dusted by the end of September. If one of the aims of the play-offs is to be a potential money-spinner for the clubs involved, then they need to happen when the weather is likely to be more clement. Whilst I may be happy to stand on the back straight at the OTA on a cold, windy October night to see the mighty Rebels win the title, my wife, family and friends are far more likely to join me if it isn't so cold and damp!
  23. I make it that the Rebels just need to make sure they don't lose by more than 19. Careful Cliffeboy, you'll have the Northern Mafia onto you for being so cocksure. It's anyone but us southern softies up there.
