I have a NUS card as i am a part time student and some clubs will have a price for students but some clubs dont.

I think its going to be great racing tonight, especially if the turbo twins from down under gets going. You have some great individual riders racing tonight but it’s all about team work. On paper the Polish team should be in with a chance as its in Poland but im shocked to see Gollob there and not Hampel. As much as I like Gollob he has gone of form over the last 2 years.

Over the last year i really wanted to watch Amercian MotorSport in the UK. Unfortunately its not that easy but now I can. I have found a website called fanschoice.tv. They show AMA Superbikes, NASCAR and Flattrack racing. Its free to watch with live racing or you can watch the videos on the website. With this in mind could they put Speedway on there as well.

folks always have something to moan about. Its good news that its going to be on peoples screen so lets not worry about the commentator, just enjoy great racing.

I didn’t want to tell people to go out and buy a motorized dish for the sake of it. If people are willing to wait to see if British Eurosport or BT are going to show it then I would say absolutely wait and don’t go out and spend lots of money for something you are going to hate. On the other hand if you really are feed up with sky and you want to watch speedway then this is the option. I went over to motorized to watch speedway as I was getting feed up with sky on how much I was paying and not really getting the service I wanted. As a speedway fan all I wanted to do was watch top speedway meetings and as Poland is meant to be the best I started to look more into it. At first I did think that I was going to find it boring with no English broadcasting but when I watch the speedway and not the broadcasting it doesn’t really bother me. Saying that I have picked up a little bit of polish on the way. Also when sky had said that they were not going to show the GP and World Cup this was another reason to go over to NC+. Since Eurosport have taken the GP and WC I watch all the live matches on my BT box. So I do understand about saving money and waiting. With regards to equipment I still pick up sky programmes for free as well as other TV from abroad. You can if you want have a sky card as well as NC+ in the same machine and watch from Uk to Poland and other countries. Since I have come away from sky as a paying customer I have not missed speedway on a mon night. I also can record Polish and Swedish speedway and watch it when I want in HD for FREE. If people want to invest in a dish like I have I don’t mind giving them details about on how to go on about it, but I would never say go and buy it unless you really want to. I have found it is really money well spent as I do get other speedway events from Poland and CZ. It’s not always league meetings on there. I hope that i have not upset anyone on here as this was not my intention.

£342 for all the equipment and 1 years subscription. compare to £504 for sky and its not always in another language. I dont want to piss people off but the point i was trying to get over was if people really want to watch the speedway it can be done and your %100 going to watch it. Its not like is it isn't it going to be on.

What I was trying to get across was if people really want to watch Swedish speedway and they are not to sure if British Eurosport are going to show it then spend a little bit of money and buy a motorized dish.

Im not saying that they are not showing it but just encase they are not showing it then for £16 a month you can watch it as well as Polish Speedway. I will be very shocked if they dont show it on British Eurosport . I did say im shocked if they dont show it.

if members of the public want to see Swedish speedway why dont they buy a motorized dish and watch the Swedish as well as Polish speedway for about £16 a month. That way you can watch all the best action live. Im shocked that British Eurosport wont show the Swedish Speedway but for £16 a month if people want to watch it then buy a motorized dish.

ok i give up. This forum never seems to amaze me. I do get it and it is all about money but is it. I might go on but at least i keep up the spirt. In the last few months i have heared that it will never happen becuase of money or i dont get it. Well i dont get it becuase if i see something to fight for then i will say what i think. if people dont think it is going to work then whats the point writing on here. I will be honest what I cant understand is why cant there be Greyhound, as well as Speedway. There use to be. Im not saying that there should only be speedway because that would be stupid as this would not make enough money to make it work, but having more than 1 sport might help. By having this then the area could have housing, Greyhounds and Speedway. Everybody wins, but I know its not so easy as that. I use to go to Wimbledon speedway in late 70s as a child and the 80s. It use to work so why cant it go back the way it was. If Greyhounds are not making the money then surely they would be interested in a plan. We have all got to work at this and I believe that it might help. As a speedway fan then by getting onto everyone somewhere down the lane someone might listen and help to get speedway back at Wimbledon. Im know that lots of people have said it will never happen but how do we know that if nothing gets done. If we do nothing then nothing will happen. Its all ok to talk about this on the forum but have anyone tried to talk to any of the parties as well as the London Mayor. It would be also nice / good to see what plans have been made to Merton council in a view of a Greyhound and a Football stadium as well as houses. By seeing what they are trying to do will make the picture a lot better.

It seems that Arthur thinks that if money is owed then a sport cant take place. We all know that Wimbledon Greyhounds owes the Irish Banks lots of money but we don’t know what goes on behind closed doors. I believe that if support is there then the Irish Bank might say ok carry on with the sport. We don’t know that homes will ever be built there or a football ground. We can only presume that a football stadium with homes are going to be built because that is a quick way to make money and not be in debt. But lets look at the bigger picture. It might take 5 yrs + to make the homes and then to sell them. The Irish bank might say we are not going to wait that long. They have to look at everything just encase these homes never do happen. Im not glad that the greyhound have wrote letters to Boris. They seem to be on the case and doing something but as supporters for speedway what are we doing. I believe that if you give a fight for something and shout loud then you might stand a chance. I have already said this on this topic but I know a few people have said it will never happen. By not doing anything and talking about it on here then nothing will ever happen be active like the greyhounds are and it might have a bit of a chance. I don’t mean to be horrible to Arthur as he has been great on writing articles on this, and what I have wrote is not having ago at Arthur.

Originally they had planned Rye House when the u21 team came across for the World Cup. For some reason I don’t really know why but they choose to go to Peterborough. I know that Kings Lynn came up at kind of the last min but I know this is something that the Polish wanted to happen in this country so I think it was going to go ahead but they had to find another track. With this in mind riders should of know it was planned and I know NKI and Bjerre wouldn’t of agreed to ride at Risager testimonial if they knew they was riding in this match and they might not of been invited, but one thing people have to think about is that this a Polish Club that have organized this not British. They are using their riders and had planned to get some other international to rider at this event so maybe NKI and Bjerre was not invited in the original plans. I hope you can see what im kind of getting at. You could be right that it might happen on the sat but in Poland the websites are saying Wed now not Sat. As this competition is something the Polish seems to want to have every year it hasn’t got off to a good start.

The Poles have been planning this for over a year now so they should of seen that this has been planned for a while and worked around it. It just goes to show what they are like becuase Havvys do was going to be cancelled becuase of them not thinking and planning speedway at the same time. People would of come from miles around to see this event as well as myself but now Kings Lynn will lose money on this as i wont be able to go as well as others. If you look at the 4 meetings at what they have now planned and the match with the Polish team coming over what is the best match, its not to work out Kings Lynn wins hans down.

thank you british promoters. The date has now changed to the Wednesday becuase of British Speedway Promoters. They really dont care about fans and the sport. I now will not be going as i live over 4 hrs away. I was so looking forward to it as well. No wonder speedway in this country is crap.

I totally understand where Arthur is coming from, and yes I do think that speedway doesn’t have a chance at Wimbledon but you never know who reads these forums. It might not be now but somewhere down the line you never know.

cant seem to find that they say this is a 1 day event. All the websites i look at still say 2 days. Not saying your wrong but where did you see its not a 1 day event.

It going to be interesting as now the BSPA have announced that on the Sunday that the Elite League riders championship will take place. If this is the case then who will be picked for the international side as well as who will ride for Kings Lynn as last year 2 riders for Kings Lynn got to the finial. Im sure Tai will be a contender for the Elite League title so will he be riding on the sat and the sun if they get to the final at Kings Lynn. I know that the meeting at Kings Lynn on the Sun is an afternoon and the Elite League at Coventry is the evening so they could race at both as long as the sun didn’t finish 2 late for the riders to get there and sign on etc. Still looking forward to it tho.

I agree well written Arthur. You are truly great with what’s going on etc. As most of you are aware when I write on this forum about Wimbledon I like to be optimistic. I can see that without greyhound racing that Speedway may not return but when was the last race of Speedway at Wimbledon. The dogs have been there quite a while and Speedway hasn’t, so to say that without Greyhounds there be no speedway I think this is wrong. With greyhounds we don’t have speedway so why should fans get all excited to read if greyhounds stay then speedway has a chance. I have always thought with greyhounds being there then speedway will never return. I hope that Merton council don’t allow planning permission for houses then that way speedway has a slim chance of returning. If a sporting venue does return to the area then this is where fans need to be active. You never know what other people are thinking. Lets face it if AFC goes in a and its just football then the person who runs AFC might say lets give speedway a looking and plan a stadium around football and speedway. We never know what other people are thinking. I know it may never happen but being positive has some hope. I find in this country we moan a lot but really don’t do much about it. If Wimbledon is to return then we have to fight for it and not just 1 or 2 years. This might even take 3 years but by giving up and I’m not saying people are giving up we do stand a little chance. I know that people will say well we will have to wait to see what is going on in April or May with the site which I agree but we must not give up.

I hope the weather keeps dry that weekend. Seems its going to be a good meeting. I was going to Poole for Havvy meeting but sorry to say I would rather see Patryk Dudek race around Kings Lynn if he comes across which im sure he will. I think its going to be a great weeknd, cant wait

i dont know if it will be on British Eurosport but i cant see why not. All the racing they show on British eurosport with bikes they show on Eurosport. The only thing is at weekends with WSBK or BSB they show live on British eurosport but on Eurosport they show it normaly on a Sun or mon. They sometimes show the WSBK live. I hope they do show Swedish league on British Eurosport even tho i get Eurosport i will always support British Eurosport. With also Moto GP going to BT then British Eurosport have lost that so they might show the speedway.

Sorry roacers and royals your right i forgot that Eurosport has the rights. Anyway you can still buy NC+ and have eurosport for the speedway. Looks like eurosport are all out for speedway at the mo.

I fully understand Arthur but there might be someone out there that has the answer or that can help. If wimbledon is not going to happen then whats the point on this forum. We might as well just say thats it never talk about it. You are right about the council rates but wasnt it said at the meeting that no plans for housing it has to be a sporting event only. I dont thnk speedway can buy the gound its to big and unless someone has lots of money then speedway and just speedway will never be there. In my mind we need to keep it going as you said i think we need to shout about it and thats all i want.

if you buy NC+ then you will get Orange Sport. They show Swedish Speedway Live every week when the season is on.
