I think that Arthur Cross is right some people dont know how much they are in dept with NAMA. But at the under of the day if the Greyhounds are not paying back or cant pay the dept back then NAMA will have to take action. I can see that they still might have Greyhounds there as the Irish do like the dog racing but if NAMA thinks its not worth it having dogs at Wimbledon then I think they will probably sell the ground. If it was for money then I can see AFC buying it. What speedway fans might have to do is be one step ahead. We really dont know what happens behind closed doors. If NAMA wants their money back and dont want to have greyhounds there then we need a plan to get speedway at Wimbledon if that means going in with someone else. What ever happens it will take years before speedway returns. Nothing will happen this year as Risk Capital wants to pay the money back. I really dont think that Gillards are a problem as I really cant see any houses being built there, and if they do try then Merton Council will have a problem on there hands. With something like this it will take time and I hope people understand that if there is going to be speedway at Wimbledon or Oxford then dont think it will happen this year or next, but time will tell.

speedway people need to shout a bit louder along with the greyhounds. why should we shout a bit louder, it was the greyhounds who didnt got rid of speedway at Wimbledon. Then when it came back it was fine, for a while but the GRA wanted more money and the speedway didnt have the money so they went again. All the time Greyhounds are there they wont want speedway. The best thing for speedway to return is to shout a bit louder i agree and get speedway back at Wimbledon but i really dont know on how it will come back. Instead of speaking to Merton council i think a few letters to the NAMA would help , because at the end of the day if they want money back and they can get a bit from the speedway fans then we have a better way of getting it back at Wimbledon. I know they still want Greyhounds at Wimbledon but with a business head Wimbledon fans should try everything. We dont have the money in the sport to buy the stadium and pay NAMA the money back, so what ever goes there Speedway will always be 2nd best this is why we need to show to the investors why speedway should be there with another sport. I know this is about Wimbledon but with oxford i think we have a really good chance of getting speedway back. I haven't been to Oxford for a little while, but i do know that they still have Karting and a dance company there so if speedway could also do a deal with them to have Karting, Dance and Speedway that way the money would be split and NAMA would be getting some of thier money back. I know they dont own the site and that Gillards do but im sure if there wasnt going to be anything happening there then with the site then NAMA will want their money. Gillards needs to wake up. THey could lose more than they think. I know they have or are appealing about what Oxford council have said but i hope they stand by what they say. I think a News report and a few banners with Speedway fans shouting a bit louder there will give us a great chance of what speedway can do. With this in mind then we can prove that by showing that speedway is a great sport then we might have more of a chance to get speedway back at Wimbledon.

they say speedway is just a summer sport in this country, well they are wrong. With this item about is it, isn’t it on tv etc etc at least the BSPA and Sky or however is going to do the deal has got people talking about the speedway. With 12 weeks to go there is still time to get something sorted for the people that want to watch speedway on TV.

I can understand why they want to keep the land for investment but they are in money difficulties with the sport. If I was to take out a loan to run a business and the bank doesn’t see it would work they just refuse the money even if you can prove it will work. With this they have lost money and they are losing more money so they should be made to sell the ground. But only if the council agrees to what item goes on the area. So if the council says no to housing then a company who wants to build homes cannot buy it etc etc. It seems if you have a company but they company is losing money and owes money to other companies they have borrowed from then you don’t have to do anything.

Just been reading on what is happening with Oxford and Wimbledon GRA. I see that Oxford dont run greyhounds anymore there and that planning for new homes is a no go, which is great news. So the question is why do Risk Capital Partners want to keep the stadium. Now they now that Gillard homes cant build there they might as well just sell to have speedway back there, also with regards to Wimbledon I have just seen a document that Merton council have said that they cant build a football stadium there under Risk Capital Partners. If they are to have the stadium then it will have to be a Greyhound stadium only. I know there is a meeting this week all about it but if they are in money difficulties with Irish Nationwide Building Society they might as well sell it to pay off Irish Nationwide Building Society. Im surprised more people haven’t already gone over to motorised satellite. I have bt box at home with British eurosport as well as motorised satellite with NC+. Its so much cheaper than having sky and Premier sports. I know that Premier sports are really good in what they do and I really don’t want them to lose the speedway for fans but if people really want to see the speedway with Swedish League as well as SGP, SWC, and other events that eurosport are showing as well as getting polish league then this is the way forward. I didn’t see elite league last year on TV as I don’t have sky but I didn’t even miss it. I don’t want to upset anyone but if you really want to see the Swedish and Polish league then get a motorised satellite and save money. You can even record the speedway and go and watch a league match in the UK as you will be saving money not having sky and Premier sports.

I think we have been here before. Most poeple say its not that bad prices, some will say its to much. The thing is its not how much it cost to get in its more to do with the extra cost like the fuel, food, Car parking, Programme. for me to go to my nearest track during the week im looking at £60 - £70 a meeting for Elite league and not much less for PL. As much as i enjoy speedway i cant afford to all the time and if i could afford it i wouldnt go all the time beucase i do find the promoters dont do enough at the tracks to make the money worth it. When i was yonger you got a main event as well as 2nd half events. I know they have kind of brought back the 2nd half events but they still could do more to get supports in. There are a few good promoters out there but it really needs more to it. With sky giving money to clubs the promoters didnt really have to worry to much but now if sky dont show it or the promoters dont get tv money then they will have to work twice as hard to get the money in for the club.

For this to happen the company would have to be mega rich. To broadcast over the TV is not cheap. The best way is to start out showing speedway over the internet but not live as you don’t need to have a broadcast licence, so I understand. By doing it this way you can see how many people follow the show. Once you have the figures of how many people are watching it you then can go out and get sponsors to show the speedway on TV. To do something like this takes months of plans and time but if the person had a team to put it all together then it can be done. You could have racing, interviews of riders, fans, team owners etc. etc. I had looked into something like this and found it would cost around £5000 for the first year. This would be buying camera, fuel to the tracks, website (but for myself to do not a company). Then you would have to get a solicitor to make sure that you can’t be sued by a company. This did not come into the £5000 this would be extra to have this on board.

come on guys, Dont sound to shcoked about it what sky says. They have been like this for years. All they care is money. No company had been able to touch them for years but i think that might change for speedway fans in time to come. At one point sky thought speedway was the oval racing they showed not motorbike racing. As long as people want to pay stupid moeny for sky why should they know what and when they are showing sport.

after a long hard thought we are now staying until mon so we dont have to rush after the meeting on Sun. Cant wait for Oct 2014.

im planning to go next year for the event for oct 2014. One thing i cant remeber is the race on sunday is it 2 hours or 3 hours racing. In the past i have stayed the extra night so havent been worried about time but for 2014 i have to be back at prague airport for 19.00. I see that the race starts at 2pm next year if the meeting is for 3 hrs i might just make it, if its less not a problem.

1 point to racers and royals. And yes im the idiot thats why i waste my money with sky hold on im not with them. It might be in foreign langauge but i can now understand most of Polish and what is going on.

im glad im not with sky anymore. It seems they still treat customers the same. I use to have sky sports just for the speedway and im not an idiot. When sky was going to lose Gp etc i thought im going to cancel sky and go and get speedway from abroad. They will show the GP, SWC etc. I now have speedway from abroad, much cheapper and i only watch speedway. Now if i was an idiot i would off stayed with sky wasted more money and still been treated like an idiot from sky. So lets way it up the who are the idiots people paying stuipd amounts of money to sky and not getting a service. Im glad im with BT and NC+. I get GP, World Cup, SEC, Polish league, Swedish League + cup matches, Goldern Helemet + U21 racing + one off events etc less than sky monthly charge. Cant wait to see the ice speedway starting in Jan. Have a happy christmas to all speedway fans

I hope this winter hurrys up as i want the season to start. Anyway lets hope that the matches that are non league matches in Poland are shown on TV.

I think that speedway riders back in the 80s use to do both and maybe before this but i can only remember as far back as the 80s. Now that most speedway riders ride all the time they dont find the time to do both. I still go to grasstrack and think that you can see some great racing. what i like about it is that you can have a speedway rider turn up who is really good at speedway and they will race with an amateur and not always win. Could you image this on a speedway track.

Most top speedway riders think grasstrack riders are mad. Just ask Chris Holder on what he thinks about Grasstrack.

Every so often we see on the Forum that a speedway club is closing or reopening. If a club is going to be reopen and then doesn’t why cant that club buy another club. For example Norwich was going to reopen and now according to news its not going to happen. So why not say ok we will travel down the road where a club is for sale and buy that track ie Peterborough. That way they still own a club and another track doesn’t get closed down.

I think this is a great idea. I hope someone can come up with the money and buy the club. If i had lots of money then i would but i dont. I also wonder if poeple with money are to scared to buy a club as speedway in this country is not going that well. But someone could turn it around. Lets hope so

quite a good outcome for some people. I think that the money they have to pay for the cancer side is a good idea. With regards to the race tickets 1zl for the first 3 matches is excellent. Just think a cheap flight over to Poland for us and we can watch speedway for 1zl.
