  1. Begs the question why did none of them turn up. Were they told about it? Did they not think it necessary? Did they think they were fit enough already? Did they just not think Tai a nice person? Did they all have other things already programmed in for that day?
  2. My heart wants them to finish the season, however my cynical head is saying the deal at Leicester was done to ensure 8 teams in the league for the Sky deal in case Belle Vue didn't happen. Belle Vue, thankfully are OK, so I'm not convinced that Bees will see out the season. I sincerely hope I'm wrong cos I count quite a few Coventry fans as friends. I apologise for the negativity
  3. Just to clarify Who precisely is responsible for seeing the. 2016 riders get paid 1 the old promoters 2 the new promotion 3 the BSPA 4 a n other As GB says it would be good to hear from all parties involved exactly who did what and when and why. I don't think for one moment the SS will do my investigative journalism so we are left with lots of posts, some by members I respect and some I respect less which to be honest is doing no one any favours.
  4. Maybe just maybe Buster was prepared to take over Belle Vue IF no other promoters could be found. That's speculation but in the absence of any credible source to the contrary it's just as likely as the scenario you are trying to paint.
  5. Have I missed the announcement of the new promoters? Thought it was meant to be yesterday.
  6. Blame the riders not the law makers. If they didn't try to cheat they wouldn't be disqualified/excluded or whatever other word they are using this season.
  7. Given that many "moving at the start" decisions are hotly disputed, it might have been better had they introduced transponders (think that's what the thing is called) first. Cost would be minimal compared to tuning/engine costs etc especially in the GP series. Other than that it's a good idea.
  8. If that's the case I can totally understand clubs not wanting to sell them. In fact I am amazed that the supposedly brilliant businessman (we are constantly told) Matt Ford did sell them
  9. Interesting questions. Sadly we still haven't been told which clubs/promoters allegedly wouldn't/refused to sell tickets so all of them are tarred with the same brush. With the exception of Poole of course, as Steve Shovlar has posted that they did sell tickets
  10. So why not name them then. If the facts are true, and I have no reason to think they are not, simply name them. As you say it was not compulsory so they have done no wrong.
  11. It's not fans of other clubs that made the statement that some clubs wouldn't sell BF tickets. All I'm asking is those that made the statement name those clubs. Not too much to ask IMHO. If they don't then all or any club has the accusation hanging over them.
  12. Maybe someone could name the clubs that wouldn't sell tickets for the British Final.
  13. Thought I read that a reserve has to be British....I could have dreamt it tho
  14. Just an observation but there don't seem to be any such problems in the second division (can't get my head round the new names)
  15. It is always possible that Chapman was just a figurehead. Does the BSPA constitution allow it to be a promoter/own or lease a stadium within it's own ranks? If not it had to be an individual and as chairman I guess Chapman was the obvious choice. I'm not sure we as fans need or even should be told all the ins and outs. What matters is that Leicester are running and for the present so are Coventry.
  16. A question for DWP. Does the rider you represent do any paid work between October and March? I personally do not consider seeking sponsors/gym training etc in that category. Im not having a pop at him in particular but I realise you can only speak on his behalf.
  17. How very forward thinking of you. You are not going to support Leicester speedway because they are allowing another club to use their facilities. No one is asking you to attend Coventry matches but hey ho each to their own.
  18. Yes I am. I have very happy memories of Brandon but I remain very sceptical that there will be a happy ending. Can't fault all parties for trying but I suggest it's far from sorted
  19. Now it's quite a while since I went to a meeting that was also on Sky but as I recall the delays during such meetings are as bad if not worse than non televised meetings
  20. Once the meeting starts yes they should all be banned from the pits. It's a working area, therefore dangerous so on H & S grounds alone riders/mechanics/officials should be the only people in there.
  21. Fair comment but that still leaves about an hour and 15 minutes looking at nothing.
  22. Maybe so, but there are still participants in full view of the fans possibly running etc. So something is happening. Contrast that with speedway where the participants are in the pits mainly hidden from public view and fans have to look at a centre green/grey whilst listening to banal music and nothing else.
  23. Are you a mind reader? I haven't named anyone...and it probably isn't who you think I'm thinking of
